  1. I have just a couple times, frankly it’s great way to keep yourself in check, lol. It’s certainly not a reason to not get the bypass
  2. Starting 210 lbs Weight lost: 78 lbs so far Still losing Exercise goal: attend my class 2xs per week
  3. My surgeon on the other hand is very fit and quite full of himself : /
  4. Actually my GP is quite overweight and I felt like because of it, he never took my concerns about my own weight very seriously. He would just say things like “well, if I had the magic wand for that...” (and pat his tummy) Finally I made an appt with the NP and talked/cried to her about my weight concerns. She was actually the one who suggested bariatric surgery. I love her for it : )
  5. Mom of two amazing boys, one with severe adhd and anxiety. I’m a literacy specialist, I work with student K-5. My husband and I love to go hiking, shopping, and watch movies. I love to read when I’m alone
  6. Surgeon didn’t recommend a bypass over a sleeve?
  7. You have to make this decision for you, and you alone. Maybe he’ll come around, maybe he won’t. Just remember, that’s his hangup though, not yours
  8. Why hold on to them? Get rid of those old pants
  9. I wouldn’t listen to any gossip coming from a nurse that would openly discuss another patients medication with you. Sounds like she just likes stirring up trouble and is beyond unprofessional
  10. When things that other people eat bother me, I say so. Especially if it’s my family. I’m entitled to have an enjoyable dinner experience, just as much as they are. If watching them eat pizza is going to upset me, I speak up.
  11. The pump you full of a boatload of fluids during surgery. It’ll take time before it passes
  12. My team said no patches because there’s not enough info available re: amount of absorption
  13. About 17/18 I think but you really can’t compare person to person
  14. I called my husband the morning I was being discharged sobbing tell him to come get me RIGHT NOW. I wanted to go home so bad! I hate being in the hospital.
  15. Take this time to teach them to take care of themselves. They are a grown man and two very capable young ladies. You will be tired and in pain and recovering will be your job, not cleaning up after them.
  16. Question for fellow July folks. I’m doing great, down 75 lbs. but suddenly drinking water has become difficult, almost painful/lots of pressure. Anyone have this? I almost always drink room temp water. Is that bad?
  17. Go back to the liquids and call your team to get some advice. Good luck ☹️
  18. No one forced you to do anything. It was your choice. Of course one week out you’re going to be in a lot of pain, a few weeks from now that will be a memory though and you’ll be so happy with your decision.
  19. Her room was directly across from the nurses station, so I agree, I'm thinking she just didn't care.
  20. Needles to say, we didn’t see her again after that ?
  21. Hospital drama; 1am couldn’t sleep so I decided to walk the halls of the hospital. I heard a patient screaming “you can’t do this to me. I’m recovering from a gunshot wound!” She’s throwing things around the room. I’m really feeling bad for her thinking she’s probably in a ton of pain, she can sleep, they keep waking her up, taking her BP, etc, plus you get cabin fever because they don’t really let you go anywhere etc. By the time I walked the whole exterior of the hospital wing and came back around the corner, all the stuff in her room was in the hallway, and when I walked passed the room it smelled like weed SO BAD! ? Ok, now I understand why she was upset.
  22. 15 lbs in 2 weeks is actually amazing
