    Forbidden Foods

I think it’s so individualized; what some people can tolerate, other cannot. It’s trial and error really
  3. I don’t eat out, it’s so not worth it. But if I do, I get a take out box or split something with my husband or tween son
  4. I’ll take this arm (with that extra wiggle of skin at the bottom) any day of the week. Being morbidly obese SUCKED

    Last meal!

I WOULD have had a sweet treat; cake, pie, ice cream...I didn’t know I wouldn’t be able to tolerate them anymore and that I would miss them
  6. I logged religiously for about 8 months. I stopped for a little bit and my weight loss slowed...needless to say, I’m logging again

Puréed meat? Yikes. That doesn’t sound good at all

    Pre-Op Confusion

Call again and ask them to send you the policy terms in writing. The fact that two different people gave you two different answers is appalling
  11. Ask for a full mask instead of the nose pillows and shop around on amazon, they have these soft slip covers for the straps so they don’t irritate your skin

    Just exhausted

Are you taking all your vitamins?
  13. “I had my gallbladder out” (which I did the same time as my bypass) “I just can’t tolerate _____anymore”
  14. Remind them that they work for you. You pay into their system each month but it’s your plan. They owe you these answers. Ask them to email you the exact requirements for WLS
  15. I can’t stress enough how important it is to understand your coverage. It will involve calling your insurance company and asking LOTS of questions. I was on the phone 30-40 each time but I knew exactly what I was responsible for, what was covered, if I would be approved, etc. it’s a pain, but totally worth it
  16. You have to check your specific insurance plan. My plan said “over 35 with co-morbidities ”
  17. I chew gum all the time, was never told not to

    How to tell my Child

I didn’t...my kids were 9 and 4 at the time

    Packing lisy

Use the search feature, there’s loads of posts on this subject
  20. Phone, charger and toothbrush. Don’t bother bringing a lot of stuff.
  21. Grab your nutrition plan and follow it..don’t stray from it at all

    Worried mom

    Call the surgeons office
  23. Fruit should be the last thing you eat after protein and veggies. At 2 weeks post op I don’t even think fruit was allowed for me
  24. My goal is 150, I’m currently at 168. I REALLY want to hit my goal by the one year mark (7/10) so I’m going to work my tail off for the next six weeks
