    Travel after surgery

I don't think it's unrealistic. I traveled on day 14 and had a skin infection on my big incision. However, I flew across the county to my mother's house so I was able to pretty easily stay with my meal plan. I have been able to take it easy here and my energy level has been pretty low.

    What if it’s not working!!

I was sleeved 7/31 and started pureed food about 1 week in. For me, the fullness feeling came more when I started adding more textured foods. Like you, I was comfortable with shakes and soups.

    When was your first plateau?

Yes, apparently the 3 week stall is totally real and very common. I've been teetering between 229 and 231 for the last week. It is very aggravating but I'm sticking with my plan. I did start tracking calories yesterday so I could make sure I was eating enough and also not eating too much.

Why I am so hungry all the time.

I've had the same thought about wondering if the surgery didn't work for me. LOL I was sleeved on 7/31 and I've been getting really hungry between my protein shake, water, and a few tablespoons of food here and there.
  5. Me too! How are you doing? I'm trying to figure out eating again. What are you eating? I'm not able to start walking or exercise right now because I had my big incision get a slight infection and it has a seroma and is still weeping fluid.

    40 something sleevers?

48 and I was sleeved 7/31. I wish I had done it 10 years ago.

    Advancing on diet early

You really should ask your NUT or surgeon. With that said, my surgeon gave me permission to start soft food/pureed early. She said if it could slide down a funnel I could eat it and she suggested I start with eggs. That as about day 5 or 6 post op.
  8. I'm not sure about the others but I really like this one because I am able to easily import recipes from sparkrecipes.
  9. Does anyone use Sparkpeople as their food tracker and/or have a recipe box on Sparkrecipes? I started using sparkpeople when about 9 years ago when I got really serious about my weight loss and I went on a 1200 calorie a day diet (along with the assistance of phentermine). I tracked everything I put in my mouth as well as my exercise. I lost a great deal of weight over the course of 1 year and kept if off for a bit only to let it slowly creep back on over the last 5 years. I'm planning on starting back now that I will be tracking my food intake after the sleeve (7/31). If anyone else has a recipe box, I would love to take a look. I will be meal planning and I'm sure there are things in my recipe box that I will need to move out. There are some things I've tried and some that I haven't. 3 weeks post op

Remember, everyones plan is different. My plan allows for adding textures like lean ground beef, shredded chicken or pork , and flaky fish starting in week 3.
  11. I did that then shortly after I ate. I talk with my nutritionist today and will see what she says. The instructions on mine said 3 caps once daily. I wonder if it would be less of a shock to take 1 cap 3 times daily. The BA definitely has more than the centrum.
  12. 15 days post op and I just took my vitamins for the first time. I have the BA Ultra Multi with iron. About 15 minutes after I took them, I couldn't hold back the nausea and had to run to the bathroom in a cold sweat. I think tomorrow I'll try Centrum chewable because that's what I've got handy right now but I'm open to suggestions. I just hope I don't puke again. Any ideas on how to prevent this?

    2nd Week post op

I was sleeved on 7/31. I have been eating egg drop soup, creamy potatoe soup, very creamy tuna salad, creamy crab dip (made with imitation crab meat, ff cottage cheese, ff cream cheese, olive oil mayo, garlic powder, and a bit of horseradish). I've also had scrambled eggs with cottage cheese, sf popsicles, and mashed cauliflower. I've been drinking 2 premier shakes each day and trying to get my 64 oz of water.

    July Sleeve

I was sleeved on 7/31 and my doctor cleared me to eat pureed and soft foods. I made a creamy crab dip that was so yummy. I've has some tuna salad too. I'm finding 2-3 tsp is pretty filling and tiny tiny bites. I'm still drinking 2 premier shakes daily so I can get my protein requirements and trying hard to hit 64 oz of water. I haven't started any exercise or walking yet b/c my big incision isn't healing so great and that part of my stomach is very red and a tiny bit tender. I started on antibiotics yesterday. Thursday, I'm going to start with my multivitamins and calcium to see how that goes. I'm finding that I get very tired very fast as well.

    Sluggish

Haha! They sure do! I bought a double pack from Costco online when this all started happening to me.

    Sluggish

Do you feel impacted? I had to use an enama because I was. It was pretty bad.

    Sluggish

Have you taken stool softener? I would start taking something soon.

    Sluggish

Have you had any since surgery? I made a post about "my poop journey". I've been using miralax nightly and it helps. However, I would say mine is far from normal but I think that had to do with the mostly liquid diet.

    Walking

Look up Leslie Sansone on youtube. There are some of her videos on there. (Or you can buy them on Amazon or Walmart). She has a program that is called Walk at Home and it guides you though taking the number of steps in whatever the # of miles you choose. I think it's a good way to get started on exercise.

    Zero sex drive...

This has nothing to do with my surgery or weight, but for a really long time, I struggled with a low sex drive. Here is something I learned: with women, the more frequently we have sex, then our desire to have sex increases. What my husband and I did was commit to having sex every day for a certain # of days. This really helped a lot. Another thing, and I'm just going to be totally honest, I was not able to have the big o without assistance. If this is an issue with you, I will be happy to tell you what helped me. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. I had a lot of issues with constipation, but I was home the same day I had surgery. (sleeve w/ hh repair) and wish I had taken something earlier. I'm better now though. I am not sure what the tightness is but I've heard it from several people. I think the area behind my incision is part of the healing process and scar tissue forming. As far as gas pain goes, just like everyone else will tell you, walking helps a lot. Pats on the back help too. I liked mine more like pounding on my back.
  22. Jill, I've had tightness, like a big knot behind my largest incision. I also have had some issues with a large hardness in my upper right abdomen. The last few days, around my largest incision has been red and itchy and it comes and goes. I'm going to touch base with my doc on Monday just to make sure I'm not developing an infection. Other than that, I feel pretty good. I went out to a concert with my daughter last night. Luckily, we were at the barrier so I had something to lean on, but I was on my feet from 5 pm until after 11. My surgeon gave me permission to start venturing into soft foods a little early but the only thing I've had other than shakes and broth (just the first few days) is cottage cheese and scrambled eggs, white cheddar cauliflower soup, a small bit of broccoli cheese mush, and egg drop soup. I would love to hear what you are doing with regards to meal planning.
  23. I'm just 1 day in front of you. I had the sleeve 7/31

    Incision infection

I'm curious what symptoms you had.
  25. I got one based off of recommendations here and I love it! I got this one from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-RENPHO-Rechargeable-Bathroom-Wireless/dp/B079DQ7JK6/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1533860193&sr=8-4&keywords=renpho+bluetooth+smart+scale I like that it connects to my phone and I can track it. I'm not sure how accurate the body comp measurements are but once I got my baseline, I can see it ticking down.
