Congrats on your surgery. Times may at times get tough but know you have us here as a shoulder to lean on if needed. Good luck on recovery and the road ahead.

Lilly our Boston Terrier. She is a rescue we got lucky finding. She was with two other families before we got her. First was an older couple where the guy was supposedly abusive. The 2nd was a single dad and was never home. She was 2 when we got her, now 6 and spoiled rotten.
Rocky our Akita is sort of a rescue. I got him when he was just over 1 year old from a family that could not handle such a big rambunctious dog. They posted him on CraigsList and were about to turn him into the pound if they coudln't find someone to take him. He was left alone a lot and is very loud. I think they got tired of cleaning up after him and his loud barking and playfullness. He's very sweet but has no idea he is not a small dog. He's now 2.5 years old.

He has a very different view on WLS from what I've seen/read/heard. You can find him on YouTube - Duc C. Vuong is his channel. I have watched quite a few of his videos. He seems to have quite a bit of a different view from the normal programs most of us follow. He is entertaining and makes good points but I've never seen any or read of his patients results so not sure if what he preaches is justified. He does kind of come off like a rock star. I made a post with a question about him a while back and got one response that made me feel like an idiot for asking about him. Kind of made me afraid to like what he had to say out of fear that I would become an outcast of some sort. I'd probably go check him out if he came to my area.

Like the others have said you'll get plenty of support here with this group. Without even knowing it just reading the posts of others these folks here have helped me on my journey more than I could have imagined. It's crazy but it seems a lot of the times I have a question or concern I come here and there is a recent post about what I was thinking about. If you don't see post start one but more than likely someone has been through it or posted about it with tons of answers and support. Good job so far BTW and Best to you!!!!

Been to a diner once on a family trip but didn't eat. Other than that havn't been out to eat yet. Doesn't seem like it would be worth the trouble at this point. Thanks for the info though.

Wife got home from work today, came and said hello. I was washing dishes so kiss on the cheek and gentle hand on the lower back. She says "your getting skinny". What a great feeling...... Starting to see it in the mirror and somewhat in pics. Up until the last week or so there was no way I saw it or felt it.

What is this? Or what does it mean if it's not a physical thing?

In my head I'm like, how can you go back to old habits and regain when you've been through all this ****. Nope not me, won't happen here, I'm to strong willed for that. But in reality I know that if it will happen to anyone, that's the lottery I'll win. Hopefully I'm strong enough to continue on this path.

I havn't lost that amount of weight but I did feel like that a couple of weeks back. Now I see it but still don't feel it. My problem is my back along with hip and knee pain. The weight loss has relieved some lower back pain but neck and mid back pain limit me. What was your weight going into surgery? You've done great so far but curious what you started at that makes 140lbs of loss not noticeable. CONGRATS btw!!!!!!

Enjoy but don't take it for granted. I hope you continue with your great recovery but don't overdo things or strain yourself. Keep us updated as well. It's really an odd thing to hear the experiences of those going through a good recovery. Congrats to you and Best of Luck!!!!

Congrats and good luck. Ditto on what @johnsons13 suggested. You won't have much to worry about as the staff will be there to take care of your needs. I slept most of the time I was there so time to kill was not an issue. Enjoy the journey!!!

Good luck to you and Congrats. I didn't take much with me, mouth spray for dry mouth, which I used once and hated. An extra set of underwear and sweat pants - t-shirt. Phone and charger of course. Spent most of the time that I wasn't walking, sleeping.

Congrats you all, enjoy the ride. When I look back the time is flying by but at some points of the journey it seems like things are moving very slowly. Best thing for me is just living the experience. Good luck to you and again enjoy!!!

Your body is healing. Give it time. Don't get discouraged and be patient. It'll happen but not overnight, or 8 for that matter right now. Enjoy the journey.

Congrats @sassysleever76 . I have not yet tried any alternative flour based foods other than home made cloud bread and chicken Pizza Crust. I have read about the kodiak flapjacks though. I will probably try them when I get a bit further along.

3 months as well. Low on Vitamin A, had to down my B12 to every other day, Protein was low but I was transitioning between stages and was not able to reach goals the few days prior to blood work. Otherwise looked good. Surgeon and PCP were pleased with results. I'm doing another round next week (1 month-ish later) so they can re-check everything.

I really wanted to join a gym except that all of the ones here in Oklahoma are not really user friendly or affordable. I keep hearing about one at work that I guess I am just going to have to go and check out.
Look on Craigslist in the "Free" section for fitness equipment. I just picked up a treadmill last Friday. I also got a stationary bike over the summer and some free weights.

My surgery date 9-28, right on the cusp of what would be considered summer or fall...
I'd say you get to join both groups. Lucky you.

broth was disgusting. I wound up cooking some with seasoning onions and carrots. Helped out quite and bit. Also picked up some flavorless Protein Powder to add when drinking it. Made Jello and pudding and added the Protein to it as well. Wound up freezing the pudding as it would not set for some reason and liked it better that way.
