  1. The first few weeks you won't get near what they want you to get in. Just work more on getting your Water in so you don't get dehydrated. You'll build up tolerance as time goes on. Call your NUT to make sure but I'm sure they will tell you to do the best you can for now. That's how it was for me and what I've read a lot from others here. CONGRATS BTW and Best to you!!!!

  2. Just created a new one solely related to surgery and journey. @VSG_SAN . Not a thing posted yet but will add when it is related and I'll be adding all the names listed here.

Edit: Requested what the search found. There were more search could not find than did find. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong as I hardly use IG other than following interests. Basically just copy from here and pasted in search.

So my MD told me that there really isn’t a calorie range recommendation because calories are so different, i.e. 100 calories of chicken is different than 100 calories of simple carbs- crackers, chips, etc. She said to focus on quality calories, Protein and veggies and not worry about calories. Not much help but it does make sense. She said to eat 4-5 small meals and try to hit 65-75 gms Protein daily. Hope this helps :-)

Same here my NP and NUT told me I shouldn't be worried about calories as of now and probbly not until about 6 months out. Just stay focused on Protein intake and Water. I am hitting around 800 as of right now but it's mostly from adding things like PB2, banana or yogurt to my Protein Shakes.

  4. That 1st lump of weight is Water weight from surgery. IV and such so don't expect to loose so much every week. The first few weeks will not be consistent, as your body is healing you will drop more weight on some days/weeks than others. Don't pay that much attention to the numbers straight off, you have to let your body adjust. Congrats BTW and Best to you on your recovery/journey!!!!

  5. Keep to the program and work on your Water intake. Track your intake of everything even if it's on the nono list. It'll help you determine if/where you are going wrong. Stall are going to happen and so is weight gain. There are a lot of determining factors so don't think you are failing. Most of all be patient, that was my hardest struggle and at times still is. Stay positive mentally and Best To You!!!!

  6. It's sad we have to search for the good in this world when it seems all the focus is on the bad and negative.

I would also like to extend my thanx to everyone here who is so positive and uplifting. You all inspire and motivate in such a large way.

    THANK YOU!!!!!

  7. I didn't read through all the post and am sure it has been said but it won't to read it again.

The recovery time is minimal compared to the amount of time you will have being able to do "whatever" for those two babies. Your not being selfish, your looking out for their future. One where you can be there for them and not feel held back due to your weight or health. Take the small amount of time now so you don't have to deny them at anytime. Best to you!!!

Today I embrace and love my life. I eat to live and choose healthy options. This works and has been such a gift. It's not easy the first year, but it's so worth it in the end.

I love your entire post but didn't want to repost the whole thing. I feel like I'm doing ok but still have struggles. I can't wait to one day come to this point. Where it's just normal and not have to think so much about it. Congrats to you on your continued success. It is very inspirational to hear from someone so far out that has kept it up. Thank You and Continued success!!!!!

  9. I guess his celebrity has run out. At least all 8 comments on that video were positive. I liked the old DR.V better when he had money and didn't sound so obvious that he was begging for it.

I have a feeling that my friend may be wasting her money

Share that video link with your friend. Times have changed for Dr.V and she may not get what she was expecting. Sounds like he may be preaching for whoever pays him the most now a days.

PS-I said I'd go see him if he was in my area. Maybe not with his current agenda and I for sure would not pay to see him.

  10. There are members here with the sleeve that have been successful. There are also members that have had revisions. Either due to issues with the band or the band just not working for them. Searching the forum and reading other's experiences will surely be beneficial. The only personal experience I have is my brother having it some time back and although he lost "some" weight at the very beginning it never really worked for him. He still has it but has recently been talking about having a revision. I stayed away from the thought of WLS for many years because I knew nothing other than the band and thought of it as a gimmick for surgeons to get the $$ from insurances. This process is very mental so be sure to get yourself ready there. Ultimately you have to make the best decision for you. GOOD LUCK and ENJOY!!!!!
