  1. Have always taken all my meds in one swallow. Post surgery we were told we could swallow pills the size of or smaller than the bed of your pinkie nail. I switched to taking 2 pills per swallow for the 1st few weeks then as soon as it became comfortable I went back to all at once.
  2. I'm actually figuring this out right now. I appreciate what support I get from my family but this wasn't something I thought about until recently being able to eat normal foods. My wife and kids eat pretty healthy but not to the degree we have to be. Last week wife made a recipe that called for the chicken to be covered in flour before adding it to the pan. I put a piece of breast without anything on it aside and cooked it later for myself. Same thing on Saturday she made breaded chicken and I pulled a piece aside and cooked it for myself. I know it sounds like simple things but when what your used to doing has completely changed it becomes a big thing for you and your thought process.

    What were your starting workouts?

Here are two videos I've come across that I really enjoyed. "Shining Happy People" has other videos with great explanations on what she's doing so check them out.
  4. If you don't know anything about it Google it. Here is a really good video describing the workouts and showing them being done (kind of). I'm really liking this the more I look into it.
  5. Yeah that's what I figured after I had some time to think it over.
  6. Awesome job bro. I'm dreading pull ups when i can get there and found this video to hopefully help with them last night. Next search is for dips.
  7. Sounds like you are getting the best support he can or is willing to give right now. Stay focused on what you have to do for yourself and your health. Hopefully after you have surgery and things start changing for you physically it will influence him to make the changes he needs to make. But if not remember this is for you and if you expect to get the results you want you have to stay focused on that.
  8. I've never used ancho chili to cook with but will try it out. Not sure if I've even had it before. Thanx for the recipe!!
  9. My process started because of a navel hernia. Surgeon suggested WLS first in order to repair it because my belly was so big and stretched out. Said that I could tear it or get another if I did not lose weight. My PCP did not even know right away I was having it done. Look into your insurance and what the requirements are. Best of luck to you either way you decide to go though!!!
  10. I was told I could swallow pills right away as long as they were no larger than the size of the bed of your pinkie nail, otherwise cut them in half. The only chewables I have to take are multi's, Iron, Calcium and B12. And that's because of absorption. I started swallowing my meds 2 at a time but now I'm back to taking them all at once.
  11. Congrats on getting your date and taking the steps to begin your new life. Best to you on your surgery and recovery!!!

    Pre -op and Nervous

@JerseyJules is a member on this forum. Maybe he'll respond after seeing he was tagged. Don't let the worries get to you. Just know your doing it for your health and in turn for your family. All will go well and you'll wonder why you let it become such a big concern.

    Got my date

Congrats on getting your date. Hope you have an easy pre diet.
  14. Hey there, good to hear from you. Great to hear your doing so well. Especially with all you had done. Not sure if this is the last of it but hope so.
  15. Did you make the marinated black beans? If so do you mind sharing the recipe, if not do you mind sharing what brand are they? Thanx!! Looks delicious!!!
  16. How is that beef stick? Is it hard to chew like regular jerky? Looks like a great snack/meal.
  17. I use Body Fortress whey protein powder and it blends fine. You can get it in isolate as well but unless you use a blender it is very grainy right away. If you continue to stir it after the initial mix, it will dilute more. $17 for whey or $19 for the isolate at Walmart. You can also find it online (ie:Amazon.com) for about the same price. The me the flavors I've tried do not taste like what they are supposed to but they do taste really good. The 60g of protein they have on the label is for 2 scoops. A serving is 1 scoop. https://www.bodyfortress.com/chocolate-whey-protein-powder https://www.bodyfortress.com/SUPER-ADVANCED-100-PROTEIN-ISOLATE-VANILLA
  18. Any of you Gent's have any experience or knowledge of Convict Conditioning? Been checking it out the last few days and thinking about doing it for a few months. I really think the progression is excellent for my situation. It starts off really slow to work all the unused muscles and you only move on when you make it to certain predetermined goals.

    What were your starting workouts?

Anyone heard of Convict Conditioning? Any experience you can share? Crazy name but I really like the idea of it and the way it progresses.
  20. It's great to have the support of your loved ones and others close to you but ultimately it's up to you to be successful. As long as you are confident and willing to make the sacrifices needed than that's what really counts. Don't let how others feel about YOUR journey affect your view on things. Lean on them for support but don't rely on it. At times this is not an enjoyable process but go into it knowing and expecting that so when the times come you've already mentally gotten past it. Even we're just words on a computer screen you'll have tons of support from everyone here. Good luck to ALL of you on your upcoming dates. YOU ALL GOT THIS!!!!
  21. Killing the game. @nenes78. Way to go brother!!!
  22. My heart hurts. How dare you make fun of my glorious scrambled eggs. I worked for minutes on those and they tasted just as boring as every other scrambled egg meal I've made.
  23. I'm sorry, I didn't realize the poster asked for anyone to bogart her post and critique suggestions, answers from others to the question they asked. I didn't suggest they hit McD's or Wendy's everyday up until surgery and there was a question attached to my suggestion. Now if you have some sound wisdom you could share yourself on your success maybe you should worry about helping the OP out. Otherwise don't worry about what I posted.
  24. Behold it's greatness. 2 eggs scrambled with sauteed diced onions and diced weight watchers cheese stick. Magical
