I only see slight changes and only in pictures. When I look in the mirror it's the same old me staring back.

Hand my Sleeve on Sept. 5, happy and miserable!
J San replied to Futuresleevie18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congrats on your surgery!! Try slowing down when you drink and/or taking smaller sips, consuming less. I had the same issue and figured out that I was taking in just a bit to much. By consuming less each time but sipping more often it worked out great. Good luck to you on your journey!!! -
Tell your sister to kick rocks. You'll look as good as you feel. Don't worry about swimsuit just know that you'll be able to enjoy the trip a hell of a lot more than you would if you didn't lose the weight.

Clear liquids.....I hate broth
J San replied to LynnV1964's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try simmering the broth, add spices you enjoy and some veggies. Strain it after some time so it can absorb the flavors. Hopefully that will work better for you. I did it with A LOT of onions and carrots + seasonings. A world of difference from just out of the box. Eventually I even added flavorless protein powder. Good Luck and CONGRATS!!!! -
Pain and gas upon drinking
J San replied to MeredithGrace's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Use your spirometer thingy, walk and walk. Not long walks around the neighborhood but multiple short walks around your house through out the day. It's going to take some time to meet your intake goals at every step on this journey. Some progress faster and easier than others but for now just take small sips and listen to your body. Stop when it begins to bother and take a break. Eventually you'll learn when to stop before it begins to bother. After some time sip again. You'll learn patience if you don't have it now. Congrats by the way on your surgery and HAPPY HEALING!!! -
That was really fast, Congrats!!! Best of luck to you on your surgery date!!!!!

Congrats everyone. Your looking great!! 1st pic is May 26th and 2nd is today. Little bit of a difference I guess.

Definitely swollen for some time after.

Congrats and Welcome to the site!!!

Congrats. You should for sure bring up what you hope to happen and see what he says. Better to know before hand that to be disappointed after. I have Aetna as well and my surgeon said it could take up two weeks to hear back. I found out exactly on the two week mark. Good luck to you with everything!!!!

Liquid diet phase.. loose stools?
J San replied to Anita watson's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pre op and Post op liquid diet had that affect on me as well. It wasn't an issue of "oh **** gotta run to the can" but when I visited it, it was very similar to how it went in. -
Did you solve your “head hunger” before surgery?
J San replied to Chevron's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope, agree with @MargoCL when I get head hunger I have a few sips of water. If it goes away because my belly is full and doesn't come back for some time it's head hunger. When I'm actually hungry There is definitely a different feeling. It's just constant no matter if my belly is full from water. That's not a reason to postpone your surgery. -
@CTJohn Damn dude, your transformation is amazing. I've never seen/heard a success story with a band. I know they exist but seeing it is awesome. My brother had the band in the late 90's and failed miserably. I don't think he had the mind set to stick with it from day one. Good for you man!!!!
-
@Rudedogg89 Yeah, that's awesome. Feeling so much better since surgery already, if it gets better..... I can't wait!!!
-
Congrats on your success man. Looking great. Huge difference in your face and body. I can't wait to get there or close.

Is it possible to build muscle after the sleeve? I'm about to find out.
J San replied to BlueCrush's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I have issues with my hips and I found quite a few videos on the good old YouTube on how to stretch them out and get more mobility. Really simple maneuvers. -
Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!
J San replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the same problem at night. Did Pre surgery as well. Now I just drink my water until I'm full. It doesn't last as long as a meal but I just drink more when I get the munchies again. If it gets really bad I just go to sleep. I did cave last night when I opened the fridge and saw a box of Pizza my wife must have brought home from her meeting at work. I took a slice and ate the cheese and sauce, along with about 3 full bites. I was stuffed and felt horrible after but it's the 1st time I've cheated like that since surgery. Sucks!!!! -
You should go to your insurers web site and see what the requirements are for VSG. If you are still not sure give them a call and ask.
