  1. No vomiting for me either. Made the mistake of overeating twice and will never do it again. I also dump from sugar substitutes like erythritol and most dairy/dairy substitutes. I've always had an issue with milk, but holy moly has it gotten exponentially worse. I've also had to take it super slow on a bunch of different foods and am just now adding more raw veggies/salads in (at 5 months out).

BUT, I still haven't had any GERD, which is the primary reason I had revision, and I've lost about 65 lbs since the week prior to revision, so I'm pretty happy with the results!

  2. Revision from sleeve to bypass due to severe GERD and lack of weight loss was 9/19. I'm down almost 74 from the start of the process and almost 50 from the date of the revision. Still having trouble with a bunch of foods, but I otherwise feel great! No GERD since revision to bypass, which is totally wild to me considering I had horrible GERD from the moment I woke up from sleeve surgery.

  3. I am experiencing the same thing and am just 10 days behind you as far as surgery date. I had really bad dumping on Thanksgiving (I had a tablespoon of whipped cream against my better judgement) and things have not been "right" since then. My clinic said to keep watching things and go back to purees for a few days to see if that helps. So far... eh. I have also had zero appetite since the dumping, so I'm mostly just focusing on getting my Protein in.

I'm just seeing this reply. I'm scheduled for my revision on the 29th. starting liquids today

I had revision from sleeve to bypass on Sept 18 due to severe GERD. I had also not lost much due to maladaptive eating I had developed due to the GERD symptoms (the symptoms were WAY worse when my stomach was empty, so I had to eat something every 1-2 hours). After sleeve surgery, I woke up with GERD symptoms and they never really stopped. Since the revision to bypass I have had zero GERD symptoms and it has been glorious! I have absolutely no regrets for going through the revision. My only hiccup has been in the transition from pureed food to mashed food, but I think it's mostly me just needing to adjust to the new way my stomach/system works.

Good luck! I hope it goes as well for you as it has for me!

  5. @Christina760 - He said I’ll lose less than I would have if I’d had bypass first, but expects that I’ll likely lose about 60 lbs, which is right in the 69-65% range for me. I’ll still be overweight by the BMI tables, but I’ll be much better off than I am now. I’d love to lose more, but I’m not getting my hopes up since this isn’t my first surgery.

  6. Me! I only lost about 30 lbs with sleeve and gained half of it back due to maladaptive eating to avoid the symptoms of severe GERD. I just had revision to bypass on the 18th and am down 20 lbs from the start of my liquid diet 10 days prior to surgery. My doc said he expects me to lose about 60-65% of my excess weight, so a little less than I’d bypass was my first surgery.

I have not heard of Protein Water. I will do a search for it. However I did buy these flavor Protein Shots, but they are just so sweet and concentrated. I can’t stomach them either. i’m just trying to drink straight Water now. I can’t wait for this stage to be over.

I just got a bunch of Protein2O and it is quite tasty. The Dragonfruit and the Peach Mango are my favorites. Definitely better than the premiere Protein water.

I have today and 4 more days to go on my liquid diet. This is no fun. LOL> I'm soooooo tired of sweet stuff. The broth is my only saving grace and the Popsicles to chew on. I can and will complete this though!! :) You are all doing great. Less then a week to a new beginning!

I found pickle pops to be SUPER helpful to curb my sweet cravings. I found a small pack of them at the store and just ordered big box for post-surgery.

Wow same! I had my sleeve in 2017 and due to GERD I am now scheduled for a bypass on 9/23. It really didn’t feel real at all for me until my final follow up yesterday which is when I got freaked out.

I had my sleeve in August 2018. I am so ready for the GERD to get better! It feels real now that I'm a couple of days into the liquid pre-surgery diet. Odd that my GERD hasn't been too bad on this part as it was really bad pretty much right away after the initial surgery. Happy to be a surgery buddy!

  10. I really like both Home Chef and Sunbasket for non-prepared meal delivery services and would highly recommend them both. Otherwise, for prepared meal delivery Metabolic Meals is awesome once you are eating solids (though it is a bit spendy).

  11. I am in the last stages of scheduling a revision from sleeve to bypass due to severe GERD. I was sleeved in August 2018, I only lost about 35 with sleeve because the reflux is worse when I have nothing in my stomach, so I pretty much have to eat something every hour. I’ve been on 40 mg pantoprazole twice a day (80mg total), famotidine twice a day, and carafate up to four times a day. It sucks. I am hoping bypass will at least let me knock off a few of the meds. I’d love to get down to two or fewer per day, preferably none.

  12. I'm in the same boat, sort of. I was sleeved 2 years ago and immediately had severe GERD with the worst symptoms when my stomach was empty, so my weight loss was slow and I've regained the little I lost. I was supposed to be having revision to bypass in April, but that was postponed due to the pandemic. At this point, I'm just waiting until they can start scheduling surgeries again, hopefully by the end of June. My surgeon said my weight loss should be closer to 50-60 lbs, which I think I'd be happy with. I have regretted going for the sleeve since day one and am hoping that bypass alleviates some of GERD symptoms.
