  1. Wear the same thing home that you wore to the hospital. You won’t be in them for very long at a time.

  3. My friend has NOT had any weight loss surgery.
  4. I tried to take it. I took it whole & it gave me a terrible, horrible taste in my mouth! I could only do it for 2 days. My man took it with no problems. I had another friend take it & she had the terrible, horrible taste too!
  5. I used to take that years ago for migraines. I don’t remember losing a bunch of weight when I took it. But it was a long time ago.

  7. I had a RNY over 5 years ago. I see lots of activity on this board for one. Good luck with yours. Ask any questions you have. Even what to pack to take to the hospital.

  9. How exciting! I had a fundolipcation years ago & after ten years it was discovered that it had failed at some point. And that my esophagus was L shaped & 1/2 of my stomach was above my diaphragm! I had a bypass to fix all of that and lost over 60 pounds. I feel so much better now! Good luck & God’s blessings on you tomorrow!

  11. Oh boy, my dr says I need to take it for the rest of my life! That could be that I had a huge GERD problem before, I had a huge hiatal hernia fixed during the surgery because my esophagus was in the shape of an L or that my surgeon isn’t really a bariatric surgeon, but a thoracic surgeon that I was sent to because of the L shape in my esophagus.

  16. Never stopped & never did anything different with my hair routine of blow drying & curling.
  17. If you are drinking your protein this can count as your fluid intake (this is what my nutritionist told me) for the 1st couple of months. Try adding something like Drip Drops or Liquid IV to your water. Set a time for every 15 min to drink, even it’s a little sip. I’m over 5 years out & I still have a time set with the Baritastic app yo remind me to drink.

  19. Good for you! Try adding an electrolyte water to your fluids like Drip Drops or liquid IV. That really help me when I was feeling “punie”
  20. When did you have the surgery? Take a deep breath to relax. Maybe your body just needs sometime to work into your new routine. Your stomach had been through some major trauma! I’m sure it will be alright.
  21. I haven’t heard anything like that before. If you reheat in the microwave maybe try the stove top instead.
  22. I’m over 5 years out. I eat about 2oz protein & one oz veggies for dinner. I have 5 small meals a day. When we go out I eat about 1/3 of the protein & about 3 small bites of veggies. If I go over that I know I will put on weight. If I eat more then that I end up throwing up.
  23. I drink about 3oz of fresh juice for a snack. I love carrots, cucumber & beets. I juice up a bunch & freeze 3oz in breast milk bags (they are much stronger then regular ziplock bags) and have one every couple of days.
  24. Congratulations on doing so well. I had a bypass over 5 years ago & I still weight my food at home. I never go over 3.5 oz. I do 2 oz of protein & the rest in veggies or fruit. You have a great attitude & will do well.
