  1. I don’t think most nut are Bariatric patients & realize how hard it can be for some of us.
  2. You seriously need to see a doctor!
  3. Congratulations ???
  4. I take 400 mg of magnesium citrate 3 times a day & eat 4 prunes. My PCP put me on this after I told him I was taking 2 laxatives, 2 stool softeners, miralax & 4 prunes a day. I have to set a reminder to take the magnesium citrate in the middle of the day. I still need to use an enema about once a week.
  5. I am currently taking 600mg of magnesium a day for constipation. When I did Isagenix & I took the Natural Accelerator & Isaflush I never had any trouble pooping but now I do. I was thinking about trying the accelerator & flush again. Is there anyone in the same boat as me or someone who is currently using these Isa products?
  6. My daughter had that too! It’s an allergic reaction to the surgical tape. Cal your doctor to see if it’s alright for you to take them off & use a cortisone cream on them.
  7. I had dry skin also in the 1st 8 months after my surgery. Lotion, lotion, lotion! Don’t take a shower or bath every day if you can. Don’t use soap on your whole body either. Just your underarms & private parts. Soap washes away your skins oil & you need that oil right now!
  8. My thumb nails are bad & big toe nails are bad. I had a RNY 11 months ago. I also have a crack at the corner of one of my nails most of the time from my skin being so dry. Wish I had an answer for the both of us!
  9. Interesting thought. I have always gotten car sick. I have noticed that I can read in the car now. I never thought that having a RNY would change that but maybe it did.
  10. Do you really think it’s a good idea to ask a bunch of strangers with no medical degree if it’s OK to go against your surgeon’s instructions? There’s a medical protocol for this surgery for a reason.
  11. Just focus on protein & fluid intake right now.
  12. Good question. I’m allergic to Gavilyte-G (just one of the prep solutions) so I had to drink something else. I can't remember what it was.
  13. One way to slow your eating down is to put your utensils down between bits.
  14. Amazing! Congratulations on everything!
  15. I had them I’m my hips recently. Never thought that I shouldn’t.
  16. Just goes to show that we all are on our own journey. What works for someone might not work for every one. Listen to your body & do what’s right for you!
  17. Ohmyword. I’m so sorry you were treated so badly! She needs to be reported ASAP. This cannot be tolerated! My heart is aching for the emotional & physical pain you are in. What is wrong with people ?!?!?
  18. Yes! I took meclazine for a few months after my RNY. I still take every now & then 11 months out.
  19. I took a lot of anti nausea & gasX the 1st 2 months post op. My daughter didn’t start feeling well until she could add eggs & soft foods after her surgery. Does your insurance have a nutritious you can speak with? We have Cigna & they called me every week for the 1st 2 months.
  20. I also use the Poo Keeper app to keep track of everything.
  21. I was the same way! I was taking 2 laxatives, 2 stool softeners, eating 4 prunes, and using miralax everyday. My PCP told me to take 200-300mg of magnizium cirate a day for 4 days in the morning. If I needed more help I was to add another dose in the evening. Do that for 4 days. Add another does in the afternoon if I needed to. I take it 3 times a day now & I have a movement every morning now when I wake up. They aren’t always little rabbit turds either ? anymore. It was painful getting to the 3 doses a day but it has helped me so much. I still need to do an enema about once a week just to clean it all out. I have been consipated for for most of my life, the surgery & the eating of small amounts of food at a time just made it all worse!
  22. You’ve lost 20 pounds in less then a month!!!! That’s pretty good! There is an app call Get~2~Goal You put in your weight, type of surgery & some other info. It shows you where you should be at.
  23. Yes! Sometimes after I eat I just need to get the taste of the food out of my mouth so I will take a small sip and swish it around. Servers just look at me funny when I don’t want anything to drink. I just Ask for water to make them feel better.
