I am four weeks out from lap band and I am on regular foods now. I , of course, dont eat as much and I take little bites but I am eating. I have noticed that frequently after I eat I have really bad right shoulder pain and upper right chest pain. Its always right after I eat and last between 15 min. to an hour. It hurts sooooo bad. Am i eating too much? My tummy doesnt feel like I am, but this pain is horrible. Please help!!

I was wondering if anyone is able to take difflican after Lapband? It is a holiday, and I know it would be near impossible to get in contact with my doctors office. Thanks!!

So you were banded on May 9th also? How long were you on the liquid diet? I havent been hungry yet. In my mind, sure Id love to have a piece of pizza or some Olive Garden, but I know I cant eat it. Honestly after I have to chew stuff soo long, I dont even want to eat anything. I am so glad that I havent been hungery though. What kind of mushy foods are you eating? Just wondering. I am trying to eat, I havent had anything bother me yet. Had some chilli and some potatos, then some scrambled eggs. What have you tried??

Go Band!!! LOL
I have had my band since May8th. I am so thrilled!! I have lost 22lbs. I know that when I start to eat that I wont lose as fast, but thats ok. I have already went down a size in jeans!! One more size and I can shop at Gap again. I just started on my mushies today!! I had a scrambled egg, and for dinner I had egg drop Soup with crunchies in it. I just chewed them very, very well!! No problem, except a little gas later. Sometimes I get gas just breathing. lol
I agree about the negative stuff. It happens!!! Its a struggle, but so is living!! Its soo worth it in the end!! You will feel soo much better and have soo much energy!! I love it!! If you are thinking about being banded, research, and make sure its right for you!!:woot:

Mashed Potatos, very thin, is on my menu of what I can have. I am sorry, but thats what my surgeon said!!! Give me a break. Dont act like I am an idiot who hasnt read anything on this forum or in the notebook that I was givin. I was doing what I thought was right. PLEASE!!!

The reason I was eating the gravy was to thin out the potatos because I am so weak from not eating. Like I said before, I was following my surgeons orders. They were no thicker than the Protein Shake that I drink, and I had two bites.

I was banded yesterday and I'm not hungry yet. It really hurts when I take a deep breath. Does anyone else have this problem.I was banded on may 9th and yes it is normal!! I am 5 days post-op and it still hurts a little. It does get better though. Just hang in there!!

I am allowed to have mushies in 14 days too!! I dont understand that differance in the diets!! There is such a variance on the site. Some people get down right testy about it too!! I had one guy just all but call me an idiot when I thinned some mashed potatos on day 4. I had no problem. It was no thicker than my Protein shake!! LOL

I tried Tamale pie the other day. Everything is going down ok for now. I went to a restaurant and mad the mistake of drinking a pepsi. I got sick. I did not eat for an hour. The dr told me not to drink liquids when I am eating. So I have been consentraing on not drinking anything with my meals. When did you have your surgery?Thursday, May 8th
I know that its early for me, but its late and I cant sleep. Im having one of those......oh no!! I cant eat that anymore moment and I just thought I would ask. Is anyone able to eat sushi?? Just the cooked rolls, such as the california roll?? I dont do the raw stuff! lol
May I say that I thought this sounded kind of mean? I am only one week out and if I came here and got that response I would be upset. Every surgeon is different. Like I said..mine had me eating custard when I got to my room from post op. a simple...ahhhhh that sounds a bit heavy ..would have sufficed I think.JMO

Thanks!! I have to agree that was a little harsh. Its not like I have done this before and I know what to do. I trusted these people and the many other people on this site enought to do what they said. I just didnt understand why I was hurting if I was doing what they said. Please dont take that the wrong way, I am really trying hard to get this right.
I told myself I wasnt going to add up how much I have lost, but when I read your post, I figured it up and I have lost 15lb in 6 days!! I guess thats not that uncommon!! Congrats!! Keep it up.
How much should I be able to drink at 4 days post op?? I feel full all the time, I guess from swelling. But I know I need to be drinking a lot. How much could you guys do?
My question is should I still be feeling like I cant hold anything when I havent had anything. I know that Im not drinking as much Water and stuff as I should. I just dont know if I am full, or if my stomach is just swollen. When does it start to get better. This rolling gas stuff is killing me, I actually had one of those "why did I do this to my body and my family" nights last night. My 18 month old woould not even kiss me goodbye this morning because I havent been able to play with him and take care of him since Thursday, my husband is doing great. Its just so hard to get used to this. Is ot always going to hurt like this. I can deal with the surgery pain, its just this gas..........uugghhhhh!!!!!!! Im sorry that I am whining, This is a great place to do it because you guys dont have to continue reading unless you want to. Thats whats so great about most of you, you will read it and respond! You guys are great!!
My diest says full liquids the day after surgery!! I was only on full liquids the day before and day of surgery. Included in what to eat when you go home was mashed potatos very thin, juice, Water, Protein Drinks, cream Soup and stuff like that. Do you think that is too much??
is the gas think normal?? I dont have it in my shoulders anymore, it feels like it is right where the band should be. You guys are soo great!!
I am clueless as to how much to eat. I full full before I even start because of this gas crap!! Is that normal. I had surgery on Thursday. I had some potatos with gravy for dinner with my family, and now I am burping a lot, except it doesnt come all the way up, and it hurts really bad. Please someone tell me if this is normal. there is no way I could thin out the potatos anymore. I mashed them in my mouth until they were like milk. You guys are the only the only people I know to ask that have an answer, and I appreciate it so much. You guys are soo much help!! I soo dont want to mess this up. When did you guys start trying mushies, such as a soft egg, or soggy Cereal? ? Thanks in advance for your help!!:welldoneclap::laugh::Banane53::laugh::Banane44::laugh::laugh::woot:
I am having this pain right where my stomach is. When I feel like I am about to burp, the air almost comes up then gets stuck about half way up.
Has anyone else taken the Viactive chewables? ? They are like a tootsie roll!! I think that may be some of my problem with pain, but in my book it says that I can have it!!
It just drives me insane to watch my husband eat all my favorite foods. I am craving some french frys!! LOL
So they told you guys to be on a mushy foods diet already?? I am suppost to be on liquids such as mashed potatos, yougart and stuff that would fall off the spoon. Can you really eat tuna? ? That sounds soo good right now? I know that this my acound stupid, but what is a soft boiled egg?? I love hard boiled eggs, so I wonder if I would like that?? I know Im not really hungry.....my head just tells me that I am.
My diet says that I can have mashed potatos as long as they are thin. I just ate about a tablespoon full. I added beef broth to thin them out. I got full really fast, but atleast I have something in my stomach. I Plan to do the same about supper time, I just dont want to overdo it. Yet at the same time I dont want to get dehydrated. I dont know who said they had to be on clear liquids, thats just at the hospital.
I am too!! I think that its gas!! At least I hope that it is. HOw much have you drank or ate at one time?
I had surgery on Thursday. My doctor made us do no more that 1oz. in 15 minutes the day of, but know I dont know how much I can drink. I feel kinda full, but I think it may be gas. I am just soooo afraid to vomit, I dont want to overdo it. But I also frrl like I am going to get dehydrated if I dont get something in me. So, my question is, After two days, how much could you drink at one time? Could you handle thin grits or mashed potatos? Someone please help!! Its Saturday so there is nobody at my Dr.s office!! Thanks!!

I have the 10cc ap standard. I am very disappointed in myself. I dont really have any restriction because I only have 4 cc in the band. I am going on Thursday and hopefull getting a fill so that I can continue!! Has anyone else had this problem? Its very discouraging!!
