I am having this pain right where my stomach is. When I feel like I am about to burp, the air almost comes up then gets stuck about half way up. Has anyone else taken the Viactive chewables?? They are like a tootsie roll!! I think that may be some of my problem with pain, but in my book it says that I can have it!!

It just drives me insane to watch my husband eat all my favorite foods. I am craving some french frys!! LOL So they told you guys to be on a mushy foods diet already?? I am suppost to be on liquids such as mashed potatos, yougart and stuff that would fall off the spoon. Can you really eat tuna?? That sounds soo good right now? I know that this my acound stupid, but what is a soft boiled egg?? I love hard boiled eggs, so I wonder if I would like that?? I know Im not really hungry.....my head just tells me that I am. -

My diet says that I can have mashed potatos as long as they are thin. I just ate about a tablespoon full. I added beef broth to thin them out. I got full really fast, but atleast I have something in my stomach. I Plan to do the same about supper time, I just dont want to overdo it. Yet at the same time I dont want to get dehydrated. I dont know who said they had to be on clear liquids, thats just at the hospital. -

I am too!! I think that its gas!! At least I hope that it is. HOw much have you drank or ate at one time? -
I had my surgery yesterday!! I am super excited that the pain is minimal, but the gas pain is horrible!! If I didnt know better I would think I was having a heart attack!! I know walking helps, any other suggestions?? Also, did you wash your stomach the next day, and if so, what with? Thanks in advance for your answers!!

Does any of the gas-x meds work for the horrible post op gas?? Someone please answer, because Im going to send my husband to get some for me if it does. This stuff is horrible!!:smile: -
I just had surgery yesterday, so thats what im feeling. Its really bad shoulder pain and chest pain, even some in my neck. its way worse than the actual surgery pain!! But if this is as bad as it gets, im happy!! Just a little uncomfortable is all!!

I am having my surgery Thursday!! I was informed today that I bought the wrong Slim-fast shakes. They said I needed the one with one gram of sugar and twenty grams of protein. I have already bought the optima. Should I just drink them until they are gone? What is the difference??? Just wondering if anyone knows?? Thanks:huh2:

I love the stage 3 Del Monte Bananas and strawberries with tapioca. I havent even had the surgery yet, but I have a baby!! That stuff is soo good!! :tt2: -
My surgery is May 8th. I am working on buying the stuff now!! Everytime I go to the store I get a few things!!Did you have to drink protein drinks during your weeks after?? I know everyones instructions are different!! I have to be on liquids for 2 weeks, so I dont know what kind of protein drink is good!!! My doctor told me to make sure that I get 64g of protein!! Thats hard without meat. I just want to be sure and do everything right!! My husband is the greatest but I cant imagine sending him to the store to get something like that!! Hes a nut!! Hed bring me a milkshake and say something like "well, it just sounded so much better." LOL
Im not really worried about taking care of Will, hes a mommys boy and Im afraid if I cant pick him up hes not going to be happy!! Ill make it though.

Thanks!! I am glad I have people who havent had problems!! I just want to be around for my husband and my little angel. I am only 27 and 80lbs overweight. But I have diabetes, and cancer runs in my family. My daddy dies at 50 from kidney cancer than they think may be related to diabetes. This is my only option!! It just freaked me out for a minute!! But im good now!! Thank you guys. I look foward to my journey, with you guys here to talk to!! -

Wow!!! I am in tears here!! I know the risk involved. I came here to get support and This is the first thing that I read. Is there anyone out there that hasnt had any problems at all. My Dr. says he has only had 2 people in the five years that he has been doing this that have even had a slip. This is freaking me out. I am scheduled to be banded on May 8th. This is the first time that I have even had a dought that this wasnt right for me. I have researched this surgery for more than a year, and I have never heard of these kind of complications. Where do you find out about this stuff. What kind of Dr. told you that it would be taken off the market in 10 years. I am not by any means judging you or anything, I just know how upset you are if this has happened to you. I just want to know if this is common. Once again, I have never heard anything like this!!! -
So, what was the most painful part of the post op. All I have ever had done is a c-section. Does it compare at all?? I am soo worried it is going to effect me taking care of Will!!

Does anyone know the actual statistics?? How many people have slippages?? Erosions?? My surgeon said he had only had 2 in the 5 years that he had been doing Lap band!! Does that sound right?? -

Hi!! I am from Anniston in east Alabama. I am getting banded on May 8 at Trinity medical center in birmingham. There are several others in B-ham that do the surgery, but this is where I had my son and it is a great place. My surgeon is Dr. Tuoliatos, he is with Advanced Surgeons. You can search it on google. I just read your comment about being a NICU nurse/ Where are you from?? My son was born at 32 weeks and weighed 3lbs. I love to meet people who take care of those precious angels!! When did you have the band?
