  1. i can do the 11th but with it being 9/11 i wasnt sure if people wanted to do it that day. either day is fine i just need to know which
  2. not steak and fries, but burgers, veggie and turkey, salad and some healthier options. i recently got a hungry girl cookbook and has some nice recipes that are low in calories
  3. i have to watch everything that goes in my mouth, even when i had the band. i did lose a lot with the band but it took me 2 yrs to do it and most of the time it was a .5 to 1 lb per week. it is still hard
  4. im thinking of sept 12th for our picnic...what does everyone think...is that doable?
  5. they have one in july as barb told me they would when i was there next week. no meeting in august
  6. LLL, i was always too tight. id get a fill and id be okay for a few weeks then id be too tight, id go in for an unfill then a few weeks later they woul fill me again and the cycle would start over. my band never had more than 5cc in it, i believe. i really only had 2 fills but it was never right.
  7. its the same as the swallow test they do after surgery
  8. i didnt have any pain, just a hard btime eating anything and throwing up alot. i had a ugi, had to go on liquids for 2 weeks cuz sometimes that is all you need to release it. then i had a repeat ugi, no improvement so off to surgery
  9. hopefully i will, but the sleeve is more like bypass
  10. i had the band done in 2008. in may i had a prolapse of my stomach into the band. my surgery last week they were unable to reposition the band so they had to do the sleeve. my appt went well...another week of liquids
  11. you still have to follow the rules with the band...eating right and exercising. i do not regret having the band at all. i lost about 70 lbs with the band but it did take me 2 yrs. its not fast or easy
  12. well u prob will get to go on to mushies. i already know i have another week of liquids. im sure the office screwed on the appt times. they screwed up on my follow up appt. my letter said it was 7/3. so i figured it was either 7/2 or 7/13. so i called them and it was 7/6...they mess up on a lot of things. yes im sure i was the reason ur surgery was delayed, he couldnt do the band so i had the sleeve. so im sure that took a bit longer
  13. i have my postop appt tomorrow at 1130...anyone else going to be there? hope everyone had a good weekend
  14. i was scheduled for 730 am, i was prob the reason yours was later. im sure mine took longer than he expected. i was in room 1054. i went home on wed
  15. vicki, so far so good. when i came home from the hospital i was up about 6 lbs, which i expected but now i lost that plus an additional few lbs. i think if we have the picnic after labor day we will have a better turnout. the summer is so crazy
  16. hey everyone i think i should postpone our lapband picnic. its a busy weekend for everyone. why dont we plan for august maybe or in sept after labor day? what does everyone think?
  17. yeah we talked about it. he told me with the scar tissue that sometimes it is hard to move the band. i always knew the sleeve was a possibility but i was hoping to have the band. i guess i was lucky it was approved, the are just starting to approve it in buffalo
  18. i know anny it is hard but i keep at it. i never get the gas bubbles or the shoulder pain you get with laparscopic surgery. its a little harder this round, maybe cuz im 2 yrs older...lol
  19. it is a little bit more painful, not alot more. the band was def easier, but im feeling a little bit better today. i did go for a walk today
  20. i was discharged today. i am really sore. working on getting fluids down. they ended up doing the sleeve. he couldnt do the band
