As far as your TMI question, it was a full WEEK for me. I started drinking Miralax at day 5 and had to do that for a couple of days. Just a warning, this issue can continue longer than immediately post-op. I've never had a problem with this at all but I'm 3.5 weeks post-op and I've had to take Miralax seeeeeveral times.

I am also going to take some miralax. Seems to not be moving along very well.

has it caused any issues for you taking it?

  2. I've been living off Beans and greek yogurt for the last 4 days and I need ideas for purees.
What is this ricotta bake everyone is raving about?

I believe it's ricotta, marinara, cheese, an egg, and Italian spices. Mix it all and bake it. Sounds amazing. I can't wait until I am on purees [emoji23] I miss food.
You can also make chicken/ tuna salad, hard boiled eggs chicken or tuna and mayo
Cottage cheese and fruit of choice
    Meatballs marinara and cheese
Chicken, Frank's wing sauce, blue cheese dressing.

These are just a few ideas I've seen [emoji4]

i am feeling pretty good! I unfortunately struggle from a lot of anxiety that revolves around health. So i have been anxious about a few things that i thought could go wrong. But i am doing well all things considered. i am sure in about a month when i am in the grind i will be doing much better anxiety wise!

working on getting those fluids in and walking lots! I got very close to hitting my 64oz yesterday!

incision pain is minimal only notice it when i bend/twist!

overall good still feeling a little run down and tired but with the lack of calories and Protein that is to be expected!

Im excited for you! you will have to let me know how everything goes!

I was doing well until i looked over and my husband was teary eyed. bless his heart. I was terrified! This was my first surgery but you will do great!

Now i feel surgery is the "easy" part. you just wake up and its done! Recovery takes work :)

not that any of this is easy! but your team will take good care of you!

Yes, but I am having a lot of Constipation issues so I think that is why, also the swelling and healing process, but if really get concerned call and check in with your doctor.

oh bummer i know that can be a real issue. Yeah i think i may have been a little dehydrated trying to catch up on fluids. But i am happy to report i had a couple bm today after not having one for a while.

Yesterday was the first day i met my Fluid goal so i am sure i just needed to use the bathroom.

    hopefully tonight is better

just take it slow. bc I rushed and it HURTS and get "stuck" so to say . It give me anxiety bc I don't wanna throw up haha. But I'm not a quitter lol I go back and try again a day or two later. For Thanksgiving I was able to eat like 4 good bites and then boop done. Its crazy. Bc I was an eater !!! LOL like 2 plates and some more type a girl lol.

Reach out of you have any other questions !!!! :)

I've heard that stuck feeling a lot. I definitely plan to take my time but i already miss eating haha still have 2 weeks of full liquids. But thats ok i plan to take it slow i think my fear of eating is greater than actually wanting to eat 🤣

im not hungry just miss food.

Thank you! keep in touch i am excited to see how you do!

i wouldn't be surprised if i have more questions hahaha i am a worry wart but i love this community because you can count on the fact that at least one other person may have had a similar issue!

Ummmm....I am doing ok. I would say good but I don't feel like I've been doing good bc I've only lost 35llbs. I can eat solid foods already like 2-3 bites and I'm done. I pretty much hit fluid goals some days ...I don't. :) I have super good days and my stomach is calm and easy going lol and then I have some ugly days and I'm like WHY did eat thisssssss??? LOL Its all an experience and you'll get to know your body in ways you thought you already knew it but no...you didn't. hahaha.

haha yeah to be expected ive already had a couple good and a couple bad days.

ONLY 35 lbs! Girl that is great! I cannot tell you any time in my entire life where i lost 35 lbs in a month! be proud of yourself that is amazing!

I am definitely nervous to transition into solid foods. I have been lucky thus far to have very minimal nausea and it seems like its only when i wake up!

But solids may be a different story! nerve wracking haha

Literally sounds like my experience to the T lol lol

I'm sure you'll feel better. Mine was cramping oh so hard my wife was ready to take me to the hospital lol lol. But all is well :)

haha i was a little worried! i am glad to hear someone else had the same experience (not that you were in pain) but its hard to know what is normal and what isn't in this journey!

I think i maybe was just a little dehydrated so i was a little backed up. Yesterday was the first day i have hit Fluid goals!

How are you doing a month out :)

  9. 3 minutes ago, AndreaK. said:

May be too personal but have you gone to the bathroom recently? I had INTENSE cramping a few days after surgery and it was because of that reason. So. Maybe that?

not too personal! Poop after bariatric surgery is a normal discussion haha

i went when i woke up and passed alot of gas... pretty solid

then i had another bm that was more liquid. fingers crossed tonight is better!

  10. Hi all!

I had surgery last wed 11/21 feeling pretty good and fluids are going well!

Last night i had a crampy tummy though for the first time since surgery. It kept waking me up :(

    anyone else had this?

Overall feeling pretty good though still a little sore when bending and reaching but minimal pain overall!

Hope everyone is doing well ❤️

  11. No. You are not drinking too much, you cannot compare yourself to others as each surgery is 100% unique from the next. Even twins having the exact same surgery by the exact same doctor on the exact same day would not experience the same post-op "issues".

You sound like you are doing good, why does everyone get concerned when they are doing good?
I know it seems dumb to be worried about doing good. But I was just concerned cause I hadn't seen anyone else doing as good. Until I posted here of course.
I'm happy it's going well don't get me wrong. I know everyone is different. It just seemed too good to be true.

  12. I was sleeved on 11/20 and I'm able to sip much more than 64oz of fluids. I think it's good to be well hydrated.
    That is amazing!

I was just scared maybe that I was pushing too hard.
I know everyone is different and I am very glad fluids are going good. Just didn't want to hurt anything.
I never feel pain it push it to that point. I guess I was just expecting it to be harder!

  13. I seem to be doing really good on Fluid intake.

My first day home was hard and I only managed about 32oz. But yesterday I was able to get close to 48.

Today I think I may get close to 64oz (this includes 2 Protein Shakes and water)

But this has me a little freaked out. Am I drinking too much? It seems everyone else this far out is only getting 20-30 oz in.

I am scared I'm going to hurt my staple line. But I never have pain sometimes a little discomfort from gas coming back up.

I noticed a huge difference when i started my acid reducer I'm wondering if that is what has helped.

  14. I am only 28 so age doesn't necessarily cross my mind. But I tend to overthink everything. I am terrified of the unknown as well. I am scared of dehydration, Vitamin deficiencies, not hitting Protein goals. Just side effects in general. I don't have a date yet but I have been doing the 6 month pre op meetings with a dietitian like insurance requires... And I'm still so scared 🥺 I know this is what I should do but it's hard I have major medical anxiety.

  15. Unfortunately you cannot base what your cost is going to be based on info from others who have BCBS. I work in medical billing. There are many different plans and there are a lot of things that come into play. You are better off contacting your insurance directly and have all info available such as the hospital where you will be having surgery, the surgeon etc. It depends on whether your are using doctors and facilities that are in network or not. A lot of factors...
Yeah I thought I would be able to get an idea but after the 2 responses I realized it will be different for everyone.

  16. Hi all!

I am just trying to see what surgery cost out of pocket after deductible was?

I have blue Cross blue shield. I have already almost met my deductible with pre op screenings ECT.

How much did you pay after you met deductible?

I know this may be a sensitive subject for some but I am just trying to prepare the best I can! Don't feel obligated to answer!

And so will you @ dreaming of a sleeve! I believe yours fears are fears of the unknown, not,of the surgery itself. And that is normal, you can hear all of us until you think your head will pop, but since you are an individual yours still might differ. But it will be good, good for you, and a -👣step on the pathway to good health. I have met only one person not planning for hers, she,was the 1 in a million that had a rare abdominal occurance and ended up with a sleeve to save her life. She came here, scared, bewildered what happened and I'm glad we could give her enough. practical advice that I think she's going to be okay.
And if we were here for her, rest assured we are here for you too. Ask if something is bothering you, we usually have at least 1 answer. Sometimes many!

You're wonderful! Thank you for the kind words and encouragement! I love this community and it is so nice to get on here and talk to everyone! I love seeing the success and positivity! Its amazing!

Your right i have lots of fears of the unknown, and the "what if", but i know this is what i want! I want to be healthy and happy! Comfortable in my own skin again! I tend to dwell on the side effects and the bad. But i really need to remember why i am doing this. I would much rather be doing this now that having heart surgery 20 years down the road. hopefully this will give me the kickstart i need :)
