  1. Hello everyone!! It’s funny because the other day I was thinking about my September bypass buddies. I’m doing good. Down 55lbs since surgery. I struggle with eating slowly too but I try to catch myself and slow down. I have menta struggle with the process but I’m going to see a therapist to help. Hope everyone else is doing good.

  2. MissPoodle,

I have been walking. A little over 2 months I had an emergency gallbladder removal so I’ve been restricted to walking and treadmill. There are videos on YouTube that you can follow that are short and sweet. At this point I don’t think we need to go too hard on exercise. At least 30 mins of activity to start.

  3. Planochick, congrats on your weight loss. The mental side is such a struggle. I have had stalls, gains and loss. I’ve had dumping syndrome. I had my gallbladder removed earlier this month and everything just slowed all the way down. I definitely have been going through the mental side but just remember to go back to basics and I know I couldn’t lose more than 20 lbs before the surgery before I gained it back. Just remember to step back and try to regroup.

  4. I had my Gastric bypass 7 weeks ago. Before the surgery they saw a lot of gallstones and like you I would eat and have to run to the bathroom. My surgeon said it was not that bad and we can remove it in about 6 months after the surgery. Fast forward last week I had a bad attack which was the pain in the right side that radiated to my back. I also had bad dry heaving and vomiting. I went to the ER and they said we have to take it out now. So please have a conversation with your primary and surgeon.

I’m 3 weeks out and still have issues with both. I try to suck on ice for the Water and Protein I try cottage cheese, some type of meat for lunch or dinner, eggs and shakes too. You will get there.

I have hit my first weight stall I weighed yesterday at 346.8 and today at 348.2 all I had yesterday was a Starbucks tall (which is their small) Americana Decaf with pumpkin spice, a fuzzy navel fruit Protein Shake, some creamy chicken Soup that was Protein filled, and another Protein shake along with my Water bottle I sipped from all day.

This week I had a couple days where it stayed the same or didn't move at all. The next day the scale moved. I weigh everyday which is not good but I want to know what is working and what is not working so far. Maybe it was the about of Fluid. Did you urinate a lot or maybe you might need to number 2. Sorry to be gross. BUT DONT BE DISCOURAGED. I was and I had to snap myself back.

When was your surgery? Mine was Sept. 24th. I dont get light headed anymore but man, fatigue comes fast! I'm able to walk with my dog around the block but after that I'm done. I'm hitting my Protein goal every day but still not hitting my Water intake all the time. I mean the stomach now can only hold 1/4-1/2 cup at a time so.... like they say, sip sip sip all day long.

My surgery was Sept 24th also. You are right fatigue is quick after any walking or going upstairs too fast. Thanks for the feedback.

  8. Hello everyone,

I had my bypass on Sept 24th and I had a doctor follow up this week and he stated I can start eggs. So this next morning, Wednesday I had 1 scrambled egg and I couldn't finish because I started having this feeling like it was stuck in my chest, not tightening of my chest but stuck. I walked around for a few mins then drank some Water after 30 mins same feeling with water. It been happening with everything except for popsicles. So I have not been consuming too much because of the feeling. Anyone experiencing this?

Congratulations. How are you getting along with everything? You are still on that 1st week afterward, that is either a good or rough time. Either way we are here for you!😛

I have good days and bad days. I get nauseous easily. A little sore from the incisions. But better than the first few days.

I have been having a hard time sleeping. I tried both sides and stomach. Stomach is my normal sleep position. no side is good and still wake up in the middle of night to adjust myself.
