  1. Tuna packets. Some of the shops in airports do sell the hard boiled eggs or cheese sticks

    Open RNY?

If you’re only problem with the laparoscopic doctor is his handling of paperwork/admin stuff, I, personally don’t think that’s a big problem at all. Most doctors do have that problem. i wouldn’t do open due to increased risk of infections and possible wound problems. I would also be skeptical about going with a surgeon whom only does one type of procedure when laparoscopic surgeries have been around for a while for this procedure.
  3. It’s totally normal. Over time it will subside. Just make sure you keep moving around, walking and drinking your water. And welcome!
  4. Just finish these last 6 days strong. Just remember this is al for a reason. and yes the pre-op diet is the hardest thing

    May 2018 losers bench

I am 3 weeks out and running around doing errands and playing with my young nephews for about half the day. No longer taking naps but I feel good
  6. If this is what you wanted more than WLS, then congrats! Trust, you are not the first female to get pregnant directly before this process. With the guidance of your team and obstetrician, I am sure they can come up with a plan to keep you & your baby healthy during this process and you come away with a healthy baby and you are healthy mama. This isn’t to you but I have seen a lot of women on different forums/media outlets whom become pregnant during this process. During my education of this process I was told to not use birth control 2 weeks prior to surgery and to use condoms if I had sex. I was told to also abstain from sex 6 weeks after surgery, resume birth control 30 days after surgery with the ok from my gynecologist & if I wasn’t going to use any form of birth control to try to abstain from sex during ovulation/fertile days (calendar method). Only because our bodies are going through something major and pregnancy isn’t ideal at this time. Do other people not follow this advice or did not get this advice? I am just curious. I am 32 years old and would like to have a kid but have sucked it up that I will start trying when I am 34 so that I can hopefully be at my ideal weight and be able to have a healthy pregnancy after WLS.
  7. 1 pound a day does not seem that realistic. Yes you were able to do it, it at some point our bodies must adapt. It seems that’s what your body is doing. I think you’ve become too attached to the scale. You’re body is even telling you “this is too much,” since you stated your body can’t handle it and you have back problems. Your body needs time to recover, so continue to rest and do light exercise if possible. Our muscles hold fluid and inflammation after we exercise songive your body a break for a bit. Don’t dress too much either

    Fried Chicken

I have seen people make fried chicken with pork rind coating. Dunno if that is ok. I was never a big fried chicken fan before surgery so I never made it
  10. I am sorry you don’t have the support from your husband. It breaks my heart. But you have to do you. You are doing this for you, not him. Your health is priority.you got this though, don’t give up

    Surgery with children?

I would not suggest doing them at the same time unless you had 24 hours/day live in help. You should do them staggered. It’d be different if you had maybe 10 year old twins that could fend for themselves a bit but 1 year olds?! My goodness. An you imagine giving them a bath with the both of you being unable to lift and in pain? Definitely staggered. Good luck to you both
  13. The only thing I am having are sugar free popsicles, chicken broth, water & protein drinks

    How am I gaining weight?!

What type/brand of protein drinks are you having? If you’re having diarrhea it could be because if your drinks. You may want to think switching them

    To tell coworkers or not?

I told my coworkers and are slowly telling other friends/family members. I told my coworkers first because I spend more time with them and they would have seen me not eating and just doing liquids and would ask questions. After my surgery now and telling people, I realize that most people don’t even care lol. Some give their input and it’s really nothing because I already had the surgery and there is no changing my mindset. I think the only fear of telling people is now you have others constantly looking at you to see if you lost weight. Which is truly the same thing if you told them you were on a diet
  16. Oh ok. I wish you luck!
  17. lol, I was so euphoric on that ride
  18. Hate to break it to you, but you may not do well after only 2 days off. You’re still going to be on pain meds & it may be difficult to get water/protein in. Not to mention you should be sipping fluid often. Not doing these things consistently can leave you dehydrated. I was hardcore taking multiple naps at day 3 Why are you only able to take 2 days off. Are you a student in school or a teacher?

    It’s hard to believe...

    Wow that is awesome! Congrats
  20. Indeed! I loved the ride home. I felt great. But as soon as I got home, I wave of pain came over me lol
  21. I stayed overnight. I had to consume a certain amount of liquid before leaving. Some people have difficulty getting in the liquid. I had my surgery on a Thursday at 7:30 am and left the hospital 2pm friday

    Sorry NO substitutions

Wow. You and your hubby remained so calm. I would have lost my crap after the note she wrote. And I would have spoken with the manager for the simple fact the waitress doesn’t understand the difference between a side order & substitutions. You keep living your best life; I love it
