  1. Hello everyone,

I am 8.5 weeks post op and have some pain in my right side of my upper abdomen for a few days now. Went to the doctor today and the gallbladder is bigger than it is supposed to be. He thinks it’s sludge that doesn’t get transported. He gave me a medication that is supposed to help uncramp to help get the sludge out. So far, I still have pain (even slightly worth). Did anyone else experience something like that? If yes, what did help? And I am not talking about taking the gallbladder out. ;-)

  2. I struggled a lot too. I had to stay in the hospital twice to get fluids because I couldn’t get any Water down. I lived on about 200 calories for the first 4 weeks. I am 7 weeks post op now and it is getting better. I meet my Fluid goal of 64 oz most days. I am still not at 60g of Protein but compared to two weeks ago I am at about 50-55g each day. Give yourself some time, you will get there. Remember how you felt 3 days after surgery? How do you feel now? It is confusing reading how easy it is for some people to eat and drink and how fast others loose weight. It stressed me out at some point but I trust on my sleeve and that it will all work out at the end.

  3. I was sleeved May 10th and lost 30 lbs so far. I struggle getting the Protein in. Got 60g in only ones so far and about 600 calories about twice. When I try to eat more, I can’t drink enough. How do you guys manage to get in the food/protein and the fluids of 64 oz? I would love to exercise but my surgeon said that I should have a calorie intake of a minimum of 800.

  4. I feel you. I hate the Protein Shakes and cut them down soon too. I still have one in the morning with a little bit puréed banana and some spinach leaves plus Peanut Butter powder. Equals 16 gram of Protein. The rest of the day I eat scrambled eggs, mozzarella cheese (fresh), ricotta bake, Greek yogurt etc. I am 6 weeks out and still can eat only very little and therefore I don’t meet my 60-80 G protein goal, but my surgeon said that it will come.

  5. I had a hiatal hernia repair. According to my surgeon it was pretty big. I had some tightness in my chest for a few days. I also felt like food stuck in my throat whenever I drank or “ate” for about 3 weeks. I am 5.5 weeks out I don’t have any problems from the hernia repair anymore.

  6. I am almost 5 weeks out. I don’t regret it but the recovery is hard for me. It is difficult to eat and my stomach is very sensitive. I have problems getting my fluids in and had an IV to get fluids a few times. I don’t want to scare you, but you should prepare yourself for a recovery that can be not so smooth. I know that it will get better and it is better compared to a day after the surgery BUT it is not easy (at least for me).

  7. Hallo everyone,

I had my surgery on May 10th. In the hospital my shoulder and neck started to hurt (I think from lying in bed) and now at home I have a body ache for the last 3 days. It feels a bit like the ache when you have a virus infection. It goes away with the pain meds but I think, I could go down with these if there wasn’t the body ache. Did someone else experience it??
