  1. Thanks, ladies! I appreciate the input!
  2. Hi Everyone! With my last recent fill, I have FINALLY had some restriction! For months I didn't even feel like I had a lap band!! Right now, for example, I can eat a 2 pieces of deli turkey breast, a quarter cup of mashed potatoes and a quarter cup of steamed veggies... My family is convinced that I am nuts to get another fill, but I feel like I should maybe get a little more in my band, because within two hours of eating, I am STARVING again! To fill or not to fill...That is the question!!! Any input would be appreciated!
  3. I hope someone replies! I've been wondering the same thing!
  4. Is my belly supposed to look like a melting butt?!?!?! 2 months post op!
  5. Hey everyone! I just got my first fill of 4 cc's in my 14 cc band on Tuesday. I don't feel any different than before! I get full a LITTLE sooner than I did before, but I thought that I would feel drastic restriction differences! Is this normal? I'm wondering if there's a leak in my tubing or somthing!
  6. Hello! I also have PCOS, and I know what a struggle the weight loss has been for you! Let me tell you, girl, that I am only 1 week post-op and have already lost 25 lbs including the pre-op weight. 15 of those pounds were THIS WEEK! It's the most rediculous, crazy miracle I have ever experienced, and I didn't think that it was scientifically possible! Banding is the best thing that I have ever done for myelf, and I am only a week in! Take your time, research, and don't settle for any surgeon you don't love! Goodluck, and if you have any questions, feel free to PM me!
  7. It's horrible when I yawn, which I keep having to do because I'm breathing so shallow to try and avoid the pain! It's in my left lung, and I,too am feeling so claustrphobic! I hope it's not a pulmonary embolism or anything!
  8. I'm one week post-op and suddenly having the same thing! If you find out what the heck it is, please, please let me know!!!
  9. Hey everyone! I am now 4 days post-op, and am super hungry! I'm still on a full liquid diet for another week and 3 days (But who's counting?!), and I know I should feel SOME kind of restriction from band placement, but I don't! Did anyone else experience this?! I am also almost pain-free at this point, with the exception of my port incision. However, I do feel a lot of pressure on the left side of my abdomen , right where I believe my liver is located, and there is no incision there. Should I be concerned about damage to my body from the surgery? There is a small incision to the right of the pain. What do you think? I'm probably just being paranoid, I hope!
  10. :thumbup:Hey Everyone! I know it's a little early to be tooting my own horn, but I just had to share my excitment! Yesterday, my boyfriend told me,"You know, your skin is already clearing up!" and he is right!!!! I have been fighting acne due to my PCOS for YEARS, and now all of a sudden the condition has improved in the most amazing way! My skin is soft and smoothe without being too dry OR oily! I don't know if it is the pre-op diet that did it, or the surgery begining it's miracle working already, but I am psyched!
  11. Hello! My surgeon requested that I wait three weeks before taking a bath or swimming in a pool! He tends to be very conservative and airs on the side of caution.
  12. Hello! I was wondering how often you ladies needed to go shopping for new clothing in your first six months post-op? I lost a cup size in just the two weeks I was on a liquid pre-op diet! I cannot even begin to imagine how much it is going to cost to keep up with clothes now!!! Does anyone have any strategies?!
  13. I am 2 days post-op, and mine is doing the same thing! It's the most ridiculous noise I have ever heard!
  14. Sorry about the T.M.I., but I just need to know! I went 3 days without having a BM after surgery, and now all of a sudden today I have horrible, constant diarrhea. I was wondering if this is normal. I'm also concerned that the strain will slip my band! Is that possible? How sensitive is the band to this sort of thing!?!?!
  15. Hey Everyone! I am officially a bandster! Woo-hoo!!!! (Sorry, had to get that out!!!!) It's been a good five years since I have been on a regular cycle with my period. Now I'm wondering when it will come back and be predictable! What have your experiences been?
  16. Hey everyone! I am finally proud to be on here as an official bandster as of Wednesday! I got home last night, and I am having some serious back pain, and also (sorry) a lot of gas! Are these things normal? What is the back pain from? I am taking the percocet my Dr. send me home with, along with chewable gas-ex. Any input would be BEYOND appreciated!

One more week until I am an official bandster! Okay! This is what is happeneing this week as far as scheduling! Friday:4th of July! Family Fun! Saturday: work Sunday:work Monday:Meet with Anesthesiologist and Surgeon Tuesday:Clean house, pack, prep shopping Wednesday:Work Thursday:Last minute details Friday: GET BANDED!!!!!!!!!!!!! EEKK!!!!! Last night I had my sleep study, and I actually got way better sleep with all those wires on me than I do at home. That leads me to think my mattress at home is, to be blatant, a piece of crap. But, I'm not even going to start mattress shopping until after I am fully healed. One adventure at a time, please! I am not even really nervous, to be honest. I know that come thursday I will be, but right now I am just so darn excited. I've lost 11 pre-op pounds, and have to loose 4 more by Monday, but on this carnation instant breakfast drink diet, I am really doubting that will be an issue. I don't really feel sad about loosing food the way that I thought I would be. This liquid diet has really put things into perspective for me. I never realized HOW MUCH JUNK I would put into my mouth and never think twice about. Now I pick up a stinkin' cookie and feel so darned guilty I put it down before it hits my lips. And when I slip up and eat it, I am kicking myself in the butt so long for it that I think it over long and hard the next time. What an improvement! Exercise, on the other hand, it somthing that I still do NOT love. To be honest, I don't exercise. I run around like a mad woman at the hospital I work for, but that is the extent of my workout. I DO realize that this HAS to change, but the thought of picking up weights makes me want to cry. Really. CRY. Pathetic, right? I know. But maybe I will take up kickboxing, because I saw female kickboxing on TV last night, and I seriously would love to do that. But that makes me a little afraid of getting my port flipped. What if someone kicked me in the port? I feel like that would be SUPER bad! I'm just rambling here because I have to go get some bloodwork done, and I am seriously procrastinating. I'll come back and ramble some more later, maybe. Have a good day, beautiful Bandsters!

  22. Hi Everyone! I just started my 2-week pre-op liquid diet on Monday, and today I am super nauseous. I don't know if it's nerves or if this is normal... Did anyone experience this? It's not lactose intolerance, I don't think. Help!!!!
