My concern is still that 32oz of any food during the day is going to be waaayyy to much at this point. Straight liquid passes through your stomach which is why we are encouraged to drink 64oz at this stage (which honestly it sounds like your wife is getting). I understand that you are using the cream of rice as a delivery mechanism for the Protein, but at this stage she shouldn't be having more than 12-16oz of any solid or semisolid food (a day), even if it is watered down. I'm not a fan of unflavored Protein, but if this is the avenue she wants to take then it needs to be more of it in a much smaller volume of delivery medium (baby food, creamed rice, etc).

ah that makes sense. yea weve kind of been wingng it since her surgeon was not to clear on what her intake should be other then 64oz and make sure protein gets in and the meal plan she was given is quite confusing, which is why im greatful for this site and everyones advice. she will be very happy to hear that she will only need to do 12-16 oz lol. thanks for the advice

  2. hey everybody, thanks for the info, in regards to the 20-32oz of cream of rice, which is just a milled rice Cereal, akin to baby food, thats not all at once but throughout the day, i found it was best way to get her protien in since i mix in bout 2-3scoops of unflavored Isopure powder to get her at least 75g of Protein. we havent met with her nutritionist yet, she has another appointment with surgeon on april 13th and nutritionist is sometime after that. the popsicles i was mistaken on since i just found out our son has been sneaking them so i thought she was doing more then she actually was, shes only really doing bout 3 or 4 depending on how nauseous she gets

  3. Hello, i am posting for my wife who had her gastric sleeve done on 2/28 and is just staring the pureed foods diet. the question we have is are there any alternatives to the "sweet" Protein Shakes and supplements. we tried Syntrax Nectar, all of the Isopure rtd's, and a few of the body fortress brands prior to her surgery, after her procedure we re tried them and she is having issues with the artificial sweetner taste to all of them. i had been putting isopure unflavored Protein Powder in chicken broth for her but she has recently been experiencing increased acid after drinking it even with taking the omeprazole her surgeon proscribed. short story long, any tips or tricks for savory Protein options would be greatly appreciated

  4. Hello, i am posting for my wife who had her gastric sleeve procedure on 2/28. She has been having alot of "buyers remorse" and feels like she was tricked into thinking this would be an easy lifestyle adjustment and i am doing all i can to help but it doesnt feel like enough some days. she just was able to start her pureed foods and has been having a really rough time with making sure she gets enough Fluid through out the day and the diet plan her surgeon gave is realllly confusing to us. the main issue we are having is Water, how on earth is she supposed to get enough water in during the day, i know she has to get at least 64 ounces of fluid but how does she fit eating in since shes not able to drink until 30 minutes after eating. her meals right now are between 20-32 oz of cream of rice thinned out with light soy milk to which i add unflavored Protein Powder, 2-3 2oz jars of gerber chicken, turkey, or ham, bout 8oz of instant mashed potato flakes thinned out with light soymilk and between 16-20 oz of chicken broth to which i also add the unflavored Protein powder. she also will eat between 5-10 1 oz no sugar popsicle's through out the day which seems to help with her nausea. she has started using a Blender Bottle to measure water intake but she says it feels like it takes her all day to consume her liquids and she doesnt know how to fit water into all of this due to the 30 minutes. i apologize if this is rambling but we welcome any advice or tips anyone has. thank you
