  1. I had my sleeve on 10/2716 and have not regretted anything. I did it to be healthy no skinny. I have lost 56 lbs and very happy with my weight. I was a conversion from band to sleeve so weight loss different. I was not one to want to be in a bikini just wanted to be able to be healthy which I am. Best decision I have ever made.

  2. 5’2 highest weight 216. Had reversal from lap band to sleeve in Sept 2016. I am down to 150 and happy. My Dr told me I would lose slower due to having prior lap band. I have a little bit of extra skin but not enough for me to do anything surgically. I am also 60. I walked everyday about 8-10 miles but now live in Okinawa too hot to walk so I have taken up Zumba. It’s a good exercise for me. I would love to get to 140.

  3. 18 months out and feel so good. I retired in September 2017 so I take care of my grandson. My daughter and husband got orders to Japan so we moved here. I was walking about 8-10 miles a day which I could barely walk 1 mile before. Now its too hot so doing Zumba daily. Still head for the plus sizes when I go shopping, feels so good that I can buy a medium. I did the surgery not to get skinny but to get healthy which I am now. I now eat lots of fresh veggies and fresh fish. Lovin life so much now! So glad I did it.

  4. I had issues with my band slipping which ended up with hospital stays, which means that all Fluid had to be taken out, wait a few months then start slowing filling again, after the last slippage Dr suggested sleeve. Had to fight insurance for it because of my BMI at the time but between my Dr and myself it was approved and had sleeve done in Sept 2016, best decision I ever made. Have lost 55 lbs, feel so much better, way more active. Older than you ladies, but took early retirement in Sept 2017 to take care of my new grandson. Don’t think I would have been able to do it without having the sleeve done. If you are able to get it done I would check with your Dr and your insurance.

  5. I'm at wits end , band done 2012 done really well until 2016 , horrendous pain down port side going into pelvis, after NHS diagnosis tube disconnection and embedded between pelvis and uterus , hospital group wanted more cash and then advised a new band operation , I didn' have enuf money , doc offered full removal but I was scared , weight gain was rapid , 2017 saw surgeon at Nuffield who offered repair costing 3000 but it hasn't worked , constant pain feel tummy is full of hernias I need this out of me and I'm looking for advice , wish I'd had sleeve done now

Will your insurance pay for the reversal to sleeve, due to all the complications you have had I would think they would. I had many issues with my band slippages which ended up with quite a few hospital stays, had to go thru hell to get them to approve it but they finally did, may be something to think about.

  6. Had a revision to sleeve back in 9/2016, all in one surgery, had lapband for 5 years with terrible issues, slippage which put me in hospital a few times, then they would have to deflate completely and I would have to go months with nothing (of course gain weight)and start whole process over again. Best thing I did was have reversal. Good luck

  7. I had the revision done in one surgery. Had my lap and for 5 years and had many issues, mostly slipped and last time it slipped was advised to have it removed. Of course because of my insurance had to find a new Dr. But I did and she was wonderful. She did tell me that she would not know if she could do both at once until she was in there. Thankfully she was able to do both. I had the surgery in Sept 2016. In hospital for 2 full days, stayed out of work for 4 weeks as was able with my job. Down 55 lbs. starting weight 210 now 155. I would probably have lost more but I unfortunately do not exercise like I should. This is best thing I have done, feel so much better than I ever did with the band. Good luck
