SEPTEMBER 2018 SURGERIES AND SUCCESS
TX4everLinds replied to Frustr8's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ive gotten nothing! Except a phone call today to schedule a preop appointment. She said it would be a blood draw and health history. She said depending on some things maybe also an EKG but I’m under 40 so I dunno... I start clear liquids tomorrow! I don’t know if they will give me a spirometer or anything else at this appointment. I’m glad they called though bc it’s at a different hospital than the scheduled told me! I’m getting nervous y’all. And now my husband is saying he’s gonna take a trip 5 days after surgery, leaving me with my toddler. Do I reschedule? It’s just causing me stress. -
Isopure zero carb
TX4everLinds replied to TX4everLinds's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just opened my first one. Oh goodness it’s not yummy!!! Good thing they’re so expensive so you have to drink them! Maybe after 5 days of clear liquids they’ll taste better -

My comment had nothing to do with FB, as I am also not part of that group. I was merely saying that it was nice that you could get things changed when you asked to have them changed. Someone else mentioned a FB group. I believe you quoted the wrong post, accidentally... no worries! Yes I misquoted or something. I don’t know how to reply on this app. It’s confusing. And I also didn’t change anything or have anything changed so I think that was a different response also! It’s mass confusion! Anyway yes thanks and congrats to you on preop loss so far. Keep up the good work! -

My vitamins are: Flintstones complete x2 B12 spray D3 liquid Wellesse liquid calcium citrate Barimelts biotin I was told by a friend who is a nurse and had the surgery to take a stool softener each day of the preop diet and with pain meds afterwards. I also bought isopure unflavored protein powder to add to things afterwards. -

Yes I want them! Even if I bit them I Amy get them shipped on time for my fast. -
I use premier. Only downfall is they use sucralosr but they taste great and there’s lots of flavors. If it has to be clear there isopure zero carb. Haven’t tried it yet but I’m drinking it for my preop.

I’m having the sleeve. My preop is clear liquids only and I can add clear liquid protein on day 5. I’ve been seeing dietician though since February 27 and been eating basically Keto/low-carb and have lost 52lbs so far. -

https://www.lakeside.com/Garden---Outdoors/Outdoor-Decor/Halloween-Lighted-Inflatables/287m/prod3080513.jmp?categoryId=cat2470037 I am 4’11” and I never want to be 100lbs. My body type is muscular and hour glass and if I were 100lbs I would have significantly less muscle and would have no curves whatsoever. I would look like a 4th grade boy. There’s so much more to healthy weight than height. Height is important but so is your build, body comp (muscle weighs more than fat), your body type/shape and your frame. Just my view on it. -

Yes it is possible. -
I chose VSG bc DS is a much riskier surgery and more difficult to perform and I did not want the blind stomach left inside me as with bypass or the dumping. I watched my aunt fall into a sleeping coma and sweating every holiday that she took a bite of pie. I do not want that at all. I also did not want the jejunum messed with. I wanted it to be as much my normal body as possible bc intestinal issues run in my family and I didn’t want to change anything affiliated with the small intestine. I am not interested in malabsorption. I am interested in having VSG as a tool to help me, not something that will allow me to binge without consequence. I want to deal with all the issues related to my obesity, not just make it so I can continue in these behaviors and not gain weight. That’s why I chose VSG!

Is this the sept 2018 group? I’m scheduled for sept 5 also! Just found out yesterday that I was approved and got the date. Looks like there are quite a few scheduled for September 5! I start preop 8 days prior. -
