  1. Interesting post for a Saturday night I am only 4 days out, so not yet is my answer. My hubby will have to wait a few more days.
  2. I had my surgery 5/9 as well. Just barely getting in the right fluids and protein. Each day has been better so far. . . . Hang in there! It won't last forever.
  3. I was sleeved 5/9 at OHSU. Definately work through the surgeon's office. I had a few glitches along the way and they really helped me. The office workers are really good patient advocates. The surgeon and office team are on your side. Send them a mychart message this weekend so they can get working on it or get back to you faster. Mychart makes it easy to communicate. Don't worry, it will work out.
  4. I am freshly sleeved, so my belly is still bruised and bloated. But I love the full length mirror idea! Real confessions will be posted when I have some
  5. It does get better every day! Just keep following doctor's orders. I was sleeved 5/9 and today was way better than yesterday.
  6. It's a nice change from being the fat sweaty lady
  7. Me too! Freezing all of the sudden.
  8. I'm not upset or defensive. I just really want to flash my battered belly to the world so they can see this is NOT the easy way out. I am sure people from the outside think it is easy bc we all are so AMAZING and STRONG while we go through this process. It is our fault they think it is easy bc we make it look effortless.
  9. I was sleeved 5/9. Slowly making progress. . . . Abdominal binder and pain meds helpful. Just barely getting in all my fluids. Had some protein yesterday, will try to get to goal today or tomorrow. Excited to join the losers bench, but it might take me a week to walk over there!
  10. DippedinChocolate Hope you continue to feel better day by day. I was sleeved Wednesday, yesterday was painful. Today should be better. . . . Right? I want this part to be over too. I feel like an invalid. Good news is I do not feel like eating anything.
  11. This is what I have to say to all the dummies that say this is the easy way out:
  12. Sorry to hear about your denial . Glad you have a backup plan!
  13. Miralax twice daily. Will help you go without causing cramps the way dulcolax does.
  14. OMG! Sounds weird, but I totally get this! I am looking forward to being squishy! Only people here can understand that.
  15. I have surgery in 2 days. Your picture is worth a thousand words! Thank you for the pep talk!
  16. Awesome!! I can't wait for my shirts and pants to grow longer!
  17. Happy for you! This can be a long process. Keep coming back to talk about your ups and downs. A lot of people here are very helpful!
  18. Surgery date 5/9. So looking forward to the losers bench! Have been motivated and inspired by so many people here and will keep coming back for more I'm sure. Please post your favorite quote or what inspired you to lose weight and keep going on this journey. I LOVE hearing these things! My favorite quote: Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; Forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This day is too dear with it's hopes and invitations to waste a moment on the yesterdays. -Ralph Waldo Emerson
  19. I found that unflavored whey adds a strange flavor to soups. Also don't like that you can't mix whey into hot liquids, I am not a fan of luke-warm soup. I got pea protein. You can mix it in hot soup and it does change the flavor a little, but not in a bad way. Find it anywhere, often in vegan protein aisles of grocery store.
  20. Starbucks, they are everywhere and most have egg white bites. Great low cal protein. Ok for soft food diet too.
  21. It wouldn't let me like your post, but I DO! You look amazing! Congrats!
  22. May 9 for me! Here's my stats: Food funerals: pizza, popcorn, and diet coke. HW: 268 (5'4") CW: 264 Hey, if I could lose weight on my own I wouldn't need surgery. GW: 160, mini goals on the way down 199 and the weight listed on my drivers license. I have lied about it so long I actually don't know what it says. Like like the Unjury protein, mixes well with no chalky aftertaste. Unflavored whey does NOT mix well in soup, but thier pea protein is great in soup. Also getting all of my vitamins though them bc they are complete and it is the easiest way to do it. Good luck All! We can do it!
  23. Great job! Sorry to hear that it has been such a long journey, but you came out the other side. It is just cruel to catch such a beautiful fish and not be able to eat it!
  24. Foxbins, thank you for your advice. Yeah, mindless eating and head hunger is totally what got me here. Too bad they can't take that away with my stomach removal . Sorry to hear that you had pancreatitis, it is terribly painful. I did the whole gallstones/pancreatitis/gall bladder removal 5 years ago. Not fun.
  25. Why would you have to make up gym? PE is an important part of the school routine, but making it up seems nuts. I have heard about other parents being given a hard time for taking kids put of school for family vacation as well. Schools act like missing a few days for family time is a crime. Is this how we are teaching the next generation not to have work/life balance? Schools don't have the right to treat families this way until they commit to utilizing every moment of time. That means no more "study hall", no more movies, and lesson plans all relevant and up to date. And maybe they should update the policy they have "had for years" about how to make up gym class.
