I had my band done in 2009. I had it removed in January of last year. It had slipped a little and I had esophageal issues. I dealt with pain and reflux for about a year before I did something about it. When my band was removed, there was quite a bit of scarring around the band. It took a little longer to remove it. My port site was sore for a little while. My doctor had me wait three months to have the sleeve done. He wanted to make sure everything had healed properly. My revision to sleeve was done on 5/29 with no issues. I am a whimp, so it took a little longer for me to recover. I’ve had some emotional ups and downs. I weigh 133. Three pounds from my goal weight. I’m very happy with my sleeve!

My revision surgery was on May 24th. I have lost 52lbs. I’m 19lbs from my goal. Still learning about and adjusting to my new life!

I was sleeved on May 23. It was super painful for the first four days. I start puréed food tomorrow. Looking forward to that. My emotions have been all over the place. Something I wasn’t expecting. I have been on Zoloft and it is now causing extreme diarrhea (TMI). I think just having liquids has not helped! Just trying to get myself straightened out. Thanks for reading!

I’m in the Dallas area. I had my Lap Band removed in January. Having the sleeve done on the 22nd. Self pay because I haven’t gained all the weight back.

I would like a thread like that, too.

No it’s also about telogen effluvium. The portion of hair that is in the particular stage of growth during the surgery will fall out regardless. It’s an after effect of the anesthesia. Happens to me every time I go under no matter the type of surgery or nutrition.
Now nutrition is another cause and some are more susceptible to telogen effluvium than others, so no absolutes. But sadly for some of us it’s not avoidable no matter the Vitamins or protein!
Here’s a great article explaining it—

Thanks for the article! It explains a lot. I will try to manage my stress and take my vitamins. Hopefully, it will grow back.

I had my Lap Band removed in January. I am having VGS surgery in May. I had beautiful hair before I had three children. Add the Lap Band and it is thinner. If I lose even more with the sleeve, things could get scary for me. How much Hair loss have you had going from a Lap Band to Sleeve?? Thank you!!
