Do you count your coffee and skim milk as fluids?

I was told black coffee is considered fluids and if my Protein Shake is made with Water that is considered fluids. I drink about 4-5 cups of black coffee with stevia and at least one Protein shake I got at GNC made with water because I don't like milk made shakes because they are thick and when added to my protein powders, it has a weird consistency and taste. Now that I have an infuser bottle, I drink lots of water.

I was also told no straws because of the air.

You should make cheese shells! :) Give the kiddos the tortilla shells. This is from my SUPER old blog when it was on blogspot. :) Feels like a million years ago. So dang good though!

I can't wait to try these. I don't know why I didn't think of that since you can make chips out of cheese. I tried making parmesan chips and those tasted horrible to me, but maybe the mozzarella shells would be yummy. Thank you for that recipe.

  3. I have to cook separate dinners because I cook for my hubby, myself, and my 2 young boys ages 6 and 8. It doesn't bother me when they eat what I eat because when they like it, that means I can make a full meal for the whole family. I've also learned to cook some of the things they eat where I can eat it. When we have Taco Tuesday, I use ground chicken or turkey instead of beef. I give them the shells and I eat it just in a bowl with added pico de gallo or just red onions topped with a little low fat mozzarella. When I cook for myself, some meals I'm able to freeze some so I have meals when I need one instead of eating the same thing for days, I have variety.

  4. I had to get IV fluids a few times in the beginning and when I was dehydrated, I felt worse than ever. I was very tired, cranky, and it made it harder to stomach anything going in my mouth even popsicles and plain Water. I'm not able to eat pork or red meat except deer meat until I'm a year post op. I know that when I first ate soft foods like eggs it didn't sit well. I was also trying to eat like I normally did with a normal size bite and as fast as I used to. But I realized I had to take tiny bites, chew, chew, chew, and take my time eating. If you are dehydrated, once you get back to rehydrated even if it's by IV, you have to stay on top of it.

But it is normal to think you regret it. I did for a little bit and now, even though I felt like I went through hell, it has been well worth it. I feel the best I've ever felt and I'm still only 6 months post op.

  5. I was and am still like that if I eat slider foods. If I drink a Protein Shake for Meal Replacement, I could chug it with no problem. I am 6 month post op. I will end up ingesting more than I should and feel nauseous and over stuffed. When I freeze my Protein Drinks and make it slushy like, it's harder to inhale and I make myself take time to drink it. I've made myself take about 30n minutes to eat my meals and for instance last night I had 1 scrambled egg with 2 tablespoons pico de gallo and 2 turkey sausage links. I let my hubby take a bite to try the sausage and then by the time I finished eating I had to give my dog the last bite of the last sausage. I took about 25-30 minutes to eat it. If I would have inhaled it, I could eat it all and want more of something. When we give our tummies and brains time to talk to each other it works. When we rush it, they get discombobulated.

  6. Mine was 6 months with other requirements. I tried looking online for my insurance requirements, then I got off the electronics and did it the old fashioned way and called. I would suggest giving your insurance company a call and ask them what their requirements are and then ask where you can find that in maybe online or in an insurance handbook or whatever they are called (where you can find approved meds, doctors, and what is covered and what deductible you have)

  7. Our new tummy's need time to heal and my Dr said he wanted liquid to give it time to heal and not take a chance of getting a leak. I've seen some people on here came home eating soft foods. We are all given different advice and directions for post op. When I follow my Dr's directions, I feel better physically and then mentally. When I'm not getting my Protein or fluids, I'm sluggish and of course not losing the weight like I"m supposed to.

  8. I am able to swallow bariatric friendly Vitamins now and even after week 1 post op. I am 6 months post op now. I didn't take the swallowing ones long because I couldn't tolerate the brand I had. The taste was horrible. I've never tried journey brand, but I've realized after surgery I'm really finicky about tastes. Before, nothing bothered my stomach and made me feel uneasy. See if you can go to that company's website and get a sample. I was able to get a sample of one that my Dr office didn't have but recommended and suggested since I've tried a few and couldn't stand the taste.

  9. I had a super hard time when I was on my 2 week pre op. I would start the day good, then cheat all day. I did do my day before bowel diet to clean out my stomach. I've still had a hard time eating right these last 6 months. but I finally got so mad at food controlling me that for a whole week I've ate awesome and even got in over 100 ounces of Water a day.

  10. So after I compared what I've been using and this, I'm going to stick with what I have. It's $10 cheaper and one less gram of Protein, but I add a tablespoon of PB2. The chocolate one tastes like a Reece's. But if you order, you'll have to let me know how it is. I know when I just went in the store online, it was sold out.

  11. I am 6 months post op and I slid off for a bit and then I got angry at food for taking over me and being in control over me. I have to put my recovery over drugs/alcohol/food first or I can't be the wife/mom/friend etc. It's crazy living life on life's terms and doing what's right, but I have to be selfish or I can't be there for others.

  12. My PCP has been involved with me getting approved, so I still see her for my other issues. I see my surgeon every 3 months for a check up of the suture site and check my weight loss. He does labs now every time I go but that just started. The labs he does also checks to make sure I'm getting the Vitamins recommended and if I need to add any or can stop any. His office provides weekly online meetings and face to face meetings plus I see a therapist once a month for my mental health issues and am involved in AA for my drugs and alcohol recovery. I see my dietician every time I go too and can call them anytime. These regular checks by my surgeons office is until I reach my goal weight. Then he will see me once a year.

I have both of them in my cart but afraid to make the purchase! Right now I use Quest chocolate and love it! I mix it with unsweetened vanilla almond milk.

They have a few other flavors I wouldn't mind trying. But that Apple Jacks sounds so yum. I can't drink them with any kind of milk. right now I have NitroTech whey Protein from GNC. I had 2 different flavors from them. The good thing is I could try it and exchange it. I think BariatricPal does the same minus the shipping charge. I'm going to order Friday with my Multi Vitamin.

Did you have sex the night before? Any frequency, burning, or pain while urinating or after urinating? It probably came from either your pee pee, or maybe a hemmie. If it's bright red, 9 times out of 10 it's a hemmie or a uti.

It would be extremely abnormal to have any bleeding post hyster, w or w/o ovaries.

No sex the night or couple of nights before. No burning, itching, foul odors, or any other odd feeling. It was a one time dark red almost brownish red and then it was gone and has stayed gone.

I had heard of ovaries producing hormones that could eventually cause a discharge of a small amount of blood like spotting. Like I said, I do have an appointment on the 1st for my yearly. I'm not really worried about it. I know blood could have come from my urethra or ureter from a kidney stone or infection. Not trying to be gross, but I don't know what hole it came from other than it didn't come from my anus.

I had my hysterectomy in January 2009. I will have my WLS on November 7, 2018. I have never experienced bleed after my hysterectomy. I would call my doctor PCP and ask them about it. To be on safe side.

Your surgery is a day before my birthday.

I didn't know if women who's hormones got busier after wls had bleeding afterwards because obesity can hinder menstrual cycles. I had PCOS and obesity my dr said can make it worse. they didn't see any cysts before my hysterectomy but I have had them removed once before.

I have an appt with my ob/gyn on Nov 1st. I only had small bleeding that one day. So who knows.

Well I didn’t lift anything, I basically washed the dishes and cleaned the countertop of the kitchen. Maybe it’s that and I honestly hope is that and not something else. 😓

Depending how you moved while you were cleaning, wiping the countertop, moved taking a shower, wiped yourself after using the bathroom, etc you could have just stretched a muscle, ligament, tendon or other parts near that site that irritated it. If you feel like the Dr is wrong, it's completely ok to get another opinion and get it checked out. After I took it easy for about a week after I irritated mine, I started feeling much better.

  17. I don't know if I titled this right. I had a hysterectomy last year in August. Then I had my VSG in April of this year. I have heard women who have wls get pregnant after losing weight, or their menstruals get regular, etc. My Dr left my ovaries because they are producing hormones perfectly. Well, I had my wls 6 months ago and I've lost a little over 45 pounds on my last visit which was at the end of September. I have an overactive bladder from being obese and the multi surgeries in my abdomen area. A few days ago, I noticed some blood on my panty liner and kinda got freaked out. I do have a dr appointment for my yearly on the 1st of November and I am going to talk to my doc about it. But I was wanting to hear from my women on here if they have experienced anything like this.
