    Post WLS hysterectomy issues

Your surgery is a day before my birthday. I didn't know if women who's hormones got busier after wls had bleeding afterwards because obesity can hinder menstrual cycles. I had PCOS and obesity my dr said can make it worse. they didn't see any cysts before my hysterectomy but I have had them removed once before. I have an appt with my ob/gyn on Nov 1st. I only had small bleeding that one day. So who knows.
  2. Depending how you moved while you were cleaning, wiping the countertop, moved taking a shower, wiped yourself after using the bathroom, etc you could have just stretched a muscle, ligament, tendon or other parts near that site that irritated it. If you feel like the Dr is wrong, it's completely ok to get another opinion and get it checked out. After I took it easy for about a week after I irritated mine, I started feeling much better.
  3. I've never had them before, and they are only 7 months old. It's different that's for sure. Have you or were you able to notice any hair loss?
  4. I had my gall bladder removed about 4 years ago, and my pain started around my belly button and then felt like compaction from constipation. I couldn't even eat. I know the fam members that had theirs removed said about the same thing. I had the same kind of pain as you after my surgery and my doc said the same. You said it went away by chance did you exercise or move wrong to have irritated that spot again? I did. I started hauling trash and loading up a truck wth trash bags because my dr said I was ok to do more. Well, I did too much too fast and irritated my surgery site and the pain came back worse than when I had surgery.
  5. I'm not sure if I"ve had much hair loss or not because I have dreads. My hair feels the same though. I would get about 45-60g protein a day. My water intake varied from 40oz to 64oz. I know they say surgeries, major weight loss, etc can effect your hair loss. Something about the trauma and messing up something. I've read the information over and over I just can't remember the technical terms. Anyway in the past 5 years I've had I think 5 surgeries. So, I'm not sure if my body is used to the trauma or what.

    Sparta Whey Protein

I haven't tried it yet, but I have the exact same kind in my cart for when my hubby gets paid. It sounds and looks delish. I'm going to use it for meal replacement (which I do about once a day).

    Kevin Smith / Silent Bob

I love the Jay and Silent Bob movies. Kevin Smith is amazing. He is huge in comic books and is actually a really smart man. It's horrible that Jay got lost in drugs, but that's life. It is possible to lose that kind of weight with dedication.. I know my husband had a heart attack last year and in 4 months lost about 40 pounds or more. He could have lost more, but instead of eating right, he went back to unhealthy eating and gained the 40 and more.

    Girls Do Poop

I have an abundance of essential oils, fragrance oils, and carrier oils. For my hair, I use essential oils and distilled water. I have a citrus fruit spray that has orange, lemon, grapefruit and tea tree oils. Then I have a mango lime with tea tree oil. Then I make a bug spray with essential oils and I think I used a fragrance oil. I know I use a fragrance oil on my dryer balls.

    Girls Do Poop

You would think you could drop a few drops of essential oils into the bowl beforehand with the same results without paying the name. The drops are going into water and in the bottle it's mixed with water. I have a solution at home I've made with essential oils and water I use for my dreads, I'm trying that next time I go. The sprayer bottle was .99 at Walmart. DIY poo pourri. LOL

    I’m SCARED!! Stalling after 1 month Post-op?!?

Are you drinking the same protein drink the whole 2-3 months? Try switching if they aren't settling well. Also with chicken and tuna, I had to make them really moist and juicy for me to be able to swallow without gagging when I was able to actually have pureed/soft foods. It was horrible until I figured it out. The most important thing is you are losing and have lost a lot. We are all different in how our surgeries work and how fast. Keep your head up and doing what's right and your body will lose the weight how fast your body is supposed to lose weight.

    Water Infusers

FYI when making cayenne and lemon infused water, be careful with the cayenne. l love spicy food but my lip is on fire.

    Water Infusers

So, I've decided to embark on trying an infuser and I ordered one and now I"m impatiently waiting for it to arrive from wherever. Now, while I wait for it to come to it's new home, I am lost at what are some good mixtures of fruits and herbs to put in it. I've read about frozen fruit to help with keeping the water cold. But if you guys have any yummy suggestions on what fruits work best and flavor mixtures I'd be the happiest losing weight gal on here. I know lemon and limes are good in water and so is cucumber, but I'm looking for combinations to try.

    Coughing, incision scars

I hope that helps. When you start coughing, try sucking on sf popsicles. Coughing with fresh surgery is no fun. I know even when I farted, sneezed, or coughed I wanted to punch something it hurt so bad.

    Coughing, incision scars

My husband had quadruple bypass last year and I've had numerous surgeries involving my abdomen. My advice with coughing is to keep your throat lubricated and hold a pillow or hard stuffed animal against your tummy when you cough. It gives something to help with the pressure. My husband got a bear from the hospital that had a shirt that said "sir koff a lot".

    Girls Do Poop

I'm loving these shares and comments. I just said the other day that it's funny using air freshener when you poop because either way people know what you have done. It either smells like poop or flower covered poop. Either way you still smell the poop. Sometimes you get lucky and have an odor free one. Well other people do. Mine still smells like poo.
  17. OK... I was off track for about a month or so and when I went to my Dr, my total weight loss was 45 pounds for my 6 month check up. So I haven't lost the 55% weight loss I was supposed to have lost, I was off by about 5.6 pounds. Sounds like no biggie to people that haven't had the surgery, but it was huge disappointment to me and an eye opener because I knew I was eating BAD. I told myself I was going to get back on track and quit letting food be my Higher Power. However, I have had a lifelong habit of when I was up late at night or woke up to snack. I am now on a new medicine that is not related to my weight loss journey and I take it at night because it makes you sleepy (it's not a sleeping med it's for bipolar). But I have found myself the first night snacking on a bag of my husbands Cheetos for work and last night a bowl of dry frosted mini wheats. I even woke up with a mouth of chewed cereal still in my mouth. Anyway, for those of you who have a habit or had of snacking late at night, what have you done to break that. I had tried last night to save an ounce of my turkey breast from dinner so I would have a healthy "snack", but I ate it before I went to sleep then woke up with cereal. I even got my 64oz of water in yesterday and more without a struggle. I felt better yesterday, the day before and so far today better than I have in a while. I just can't quit snacking at night. When I say at night, I go to bed between 10-12 lately and I wake up between 12:30-2 depending on when I went to sleep.

    Sugar intake

I was going to ask about the app too. I use Baritastic and it looks similar, but how long have you been able to eat fruit?

    Coffee with Cream

I love coffee and have since I was a kid. First my doc said no caffeine but now he said he's not as worried about caffeine as he is calories. Now, when I say I LOVE coffee, I mean I LOVE coffee. I can drink it hot, cold, black, full of creamer, sweetened, not sweetened, decaf, or caffeinated. I don't discriminate. (I don't drink Starbucks, but that's a person thing and nothing to do with coffee). At home, I drink it black, with Stevia and sometimes a little Torani sugar free flavor syrup. I've even put coffee in my cappuccino protein shakes and in my banana split protein shake. I have Turkish coffee, regular coffee, and decaf in my house. No specific brands. I like my teas iced, my coffee any way I can get it

    Switching providers again!

It's cool to see another Tennessean on here. I didn't have a revision, so I'm not sure how the psych eval goes with that, but my Dr got my psych eval before I did. They emailed me saying they had it and a few days later the psych dr called saying he had sent over my eval then the next day, I got the copy of his letter to my surgeons office.

    Anticipation

    How exciting
  23. I'm only 6 months post op. But, in the beginning, I had/have a goal weight to hit. A BMI to me was too much of a curve to aim for and I wanted my eye on something specific. But I also wanted my co-mordities to get better or disappear and so far, so good. I set small goals now. Like you I want to see so many pounds gone each week. I have 2 quart jars in my bathroom with marbles. 1 is labeled pounds killing me and the other is pounds I've killed. For each pound is a marble and I want all them marbles gone from the pounds killing me. I only move marbles when I weigh in at my Dr so I know it exactly how many pounds because my home scale changes each time I step on it (like step on step off then right back on it's off a pound or 2). The last visit to my Dr was the first time he mentioned a goal weight, but it was exactly what I had in mind at the beginning. I guess great minds think alike.
  24. You said your Dr was mad you gained 11 pounds at your 1 year. But, how much did you lose from beginning to 1 year? And yes, alcohol has a lot of calories. From the fruit the wine is made with to the sugar.
