June RNY buddies?
RNY on June 27th, terrible left side pain and was also sent home with a drain which is gross. Can’t really get comfortable in any position. My daughters went to a grad party today that was catered by olive garden, the host sent them home with 25 breadsticks, a large pan of fettuccine alfredo and a dish of marinara sauce. How sad is it that I was heartbroken, I wanted that food more than the surgery I was just blessed to have. This is going to be a wild journey.

Dumb question about over eating
This is probably a dumb question but here goes. So WLS makes you feel uncomfortably full so you don’t overeat. My fear is, I overeat like crazy now, being full or not has nothing to do with it. I am having surgery next week. What if it doesn’t work for me because I still eat now when I feel terribly full?

High blood sugar .. still
I wouldn’t throw in the towel just yet, your system needs to adjust, 10 days is not very long.

He sounds like a tiny little skin flint of a dude - bad attitude as well! Maybe he is just afraid at how BRIGHT you are going to SHINE! ???

Should I buy the tickets?...
Hi all, I am having gastric bypass on June 27th (YAY!!!). Friends asked us to a Keith Urban concert on July 8th. The venue is a 30 minute drive from our house. We’d be getting “lawn seats” so basically sitting on blankets watching the sunset and listening to good music... Do you think this is do-able, 10 days post op? Thanks for your input [emoji175]

Tattoo
I am 53 years old, no tattoos yet but I am considering getting one as part of this journey. I am thinking of the symbol for new beginnings. I’ll add it to my comment if I can figure out how to do it lol

Are you “less sweaty”?
I will be getting bypass surgery in 3 weeks. I am SO SICK OF SWEATING as in soaking wet with sweat daily. Has anyone noticed being less sweaty after dropping some weight?

Can I do it?
Hi everyone, I was cleared by the nutritionist last week and waiting for a date. I am getting really worried and confused right now - we have 5 children ages 10-19. Two of them have a mood disorder and are troubled. My husband and I both work full time stressful jobs. I know HOW I got to be obese - I am worried that even after surgery- with all the drama that I cant handle that will still be in my life, am I going to be able to focus on ME, planning meals etc.. thoughts? Just extra overwhelmed these last few weeks.

February 2018 Success Stories
Gallbladder pain is SO BAD! For me it was worse than child birth. I kept having symptoms and put it off too long. I ended up being in the hospital for 5 days because it was so infected, huge, gall stones in the bile duct etc. I don’t have my WLS date yet but when I went for my 1st appt with the dr yesterday, she said, “we normally do an ultrasound on everyone’s gallbladder but since you’ve already had yours out - no ultrasound needed”

When do you bite the bullet....
Try everything on you already have, it will be like a free shopping spree right in your closet! I have a question though, I am new to all of this and my surgery is not even scheduled yet, but the nurse of our group said people are generally able to be back to work in 1 week. Did you have complications to be out for 6 weeks? I don’t have that kind of benefits with my company where I could be paid for that amount of time.

What did you tell your teen children?
Hi all, I would appreciate your thoughts on this topic. I have 5 kids ranging in age from 12 - 19 years old. I just made the decision last week to move ahead with bariatric surgery. At this moment I feel ashamed that I have come to this point with my weight. My instincts right now are telling me “make something up, what can I tell the kids I am having done? I can’t let them know I have given up and this is my last resort” I know I have a lot of emotional work to do from top to bottom... My head is spinning right now and would appreciate any thoughts or advice folks may have. Thank you
