Thank you for your input! I have been trying really hard since Sunday! So 5 days and I've stayed focused and lost about 7 pounds. At this point I've been drinking a Protein Drink for Breakfast (powder with skim milk) then at lunch I generally have a small salad or today I had carrots/broccoli with 1 oz of ranch dressing. Then I had a flatout (the healthy one) with a sargento thin slice of cheese and lean deli meat one slice. For dinner I will have a lean cuisine just for convenience!

It seems to be working for now, If I start stalling which I am sure I will at some point I will choose a healthier dinner choice! I've done good not snacking because any time I feel mental hunger I just shut it up with a bunch of water! Haha!

  2. Hey guys,

What kind of diet did you follow to loose weight prior to surgery? I have 17 pounds to go. I was thinking something like a Protein Shake for Breakfast, a lean cuisine for lunch, and a small piece or meat with a small salad for dinner. I like consistency so I wont get bored with the same things. Does this sound good or should I double up on the shakes. I need to have food as convenient as possible where I have two little kids and I work most of the day away.

  3. This is probably 'surgeon/clinic' specific as to what is presented vs dietician monitored appointments. At appointments we went over my food journal, exercise journal - so she could submit to insurance for compliance -and permanent changes made in my eating behavior. My clinic did not have an actual nutrition class, everyone was given a binder filled with all the surgery information, dietary guidelines, acceptable Protein Shakes, Vitamins required, permission forms, exercise journal, schedule to make appointments for labs, EGD test, sleep study, stress test, what was expected regarding compliance in their 6 month plan, warnings if you did not comply that you would only get one 'get out of jail free' card or have to start over on your 6 month ticker.
    Good luck.

    Have you had your surgery?

  4. Hi guys! I’m currently waiting for all my doctors appointments. I was curious about the nutrition class versus the dietician appointments. Will the nutrition class help me understand what I need to eat prior to surgery or is that the dietician? My closest appointment is my nutrition class on 3/9. I’ve got almost ALL my appointments scheduled for this month so things are moving fast. Any tips?
