I had mine on January 10th. I’m the worlds slowest loser...since surgery I’ve lost 18 lbs. It’s all good...as long as it keeps going in the right direction.
Has anyone started working out? My concern is I’m eating 700-800 calories but I burn around 400 working out. I’m just curious if I’m eating enough but have no idea how to eat more. -
-
Had my 2 week follow up and I got the clear to do any activities I want and got to move to purées. I’m feeling pretty good...so those only a few days out, hang in there. It gets better fairly quickly.
-
I did! My first roommate’s husband was screaming to discharge her and left against medical advice.
My 2nd (just a few hours later) was another sleeve patient around my age. No complaints with her. We took turns chatting, throwing up, bugging the nurse for meds...ha. It all worked out.ABawdyMermaid reacted to this -
I’m post op day 8 and burping has decreased a lot in the last 3 days.On 01/17/2019 at 18:24, dar64r said:

My dermabond is also coming up. Not on the incisions yet but around it. Glad he said it was ok. I don’t go back till next week.On 01/16/2019 at 16:31, NewKimm said:
I’m 6 days post op too. I’ve got 6 incisions and they hurt. The Dermabond is starting to rub off. Went too the doctor today. He said the soreness is normal and will subside as the areas heal. You licked a dorito and I had a piece of dove dark chocolate. 😬 It melted in my mouth and tasted amazing. I’m embarrassed But no more!!!!

Mine is on my right. But it seems from my search that it’s very common so I’m glad it’s normal. On 01/16/2019 at 16:28, carolinafirefly said:
😂 Licking a Dorito
I've heard there's always that one port incision that's worse than the others. I think it was the one you're talking about (left flank/side?)

I’m on day 6 post op. Most days I have no interest in food and it’s a job to eat (drink). Yesterday I wanted everything I saw. I actually licked a Dorito! 😳🤣
Anyone post op have all your incisions feeling ok except the one where your stomach was removed from? Ugh. That one hurts so much! I know it can’t last forever though.carolinafirefly reacted to this -
I get full liquids tomorrow. Then 10 days later I go to purées.On 01/14/2019 at 16:37, anonbaribabe said:
I've been watching Chopped and Cutthroat Kitchen for the past week, so I don't think I'm there yet lol. When do you get to move to the next stage?

I’m on day 4 of Clear Liquids post op and I think I’m finally hungry. I was even dreaming of food. Cant wait to add a few other things in tomorrow.

The one I got has no added sugar. And then I Water it down more. It was approved by my dietician. On 01/13/2019 at 19:16, Pjj431 said: -
I can’t have Protein Shakes yet. I think I get that in 2 more days. Jello and broth aren’t appealing to me so I’ve been having popsicles, Water with crystal light, Powerade Zero And watered down v8 fusion. I think I’m not drinking enough bc I’m scared to get my sleeve too full.

I’m on day 3 post op. For those of you around the same, how much are you able to drink in a day? I don’t think I’m getting enough. I’m scared to drink/eat too much at once.
-
I need Protein Shake suggestions. I have ideal shape powder but it is too low calorie for after surgery. I have the ready to drink premier ones but they just upset my stomach. What other ones do you like?
-
Mine is Thursday also. What do you have to do for the fast? I have the 2 week diet and then on Wed I stop eating at noon and go to Clear Liquids. On 01/07/2019 at 18:04, NewKimm said:
I’m on day 1 of fasting. It’s terrible. Thursday cannot come quick enough.

First day was hard, next 2 were harder because I was hungry and had a headache, but after that it got so much easier. I have not much interest in food because if I have to drink another Protein Shake I might throw up!On 01/07/2019 at 17:58, newbegjo1219 said:
Day 1 of liquid diet, its a bit tough hopefully i can make it for the next 13 days, but im determined to get through it the days almost over

I mentioned it to a friend and she said she did the same thing before her shoulder surgery. Must be a woman thing! Also, this is my first surgery ever, too. 😬On 01/07/2019 at 17:23, anonbaribabe said:
My surgery is tomorrow and I'm getting nervous, too! I've never had surgery so I really don't know what to expect. y team has told me what to expect, but I'm still a little nervous.
Also, are we the same person?! I've been cleaning house like crazy for the past week and yesterday I thought about how it seems like I'm nesting 😂
Good luck tomorrow! -
So my surgery is in 3 days and I just started to get really nervous! I have an anxiety disorder to begin with so it’s more than normal nerves. I’m like shaking. I am excited though - gotta work through this! I’ve cleaned and organized my whole house...my husband asked if I was pregnant and nesting! Lol. Just want everything in order before so it’s not driving me crazy while I’m recovering.

Day 2 of pre-op diet and it went a little better but I have the worst headache. I’m hoping my body adjusts and it goes away soon.
-
I started my pre-op diet and I’m so hungry. Off to down some more Water. This will be worth it, this will be worth it, this will be worth it!
-
Starting diet tomorrow! I’m so ready but I might change my mind once I start! 😂

Simone...I went with NF. I’m self pay and Shands wouldn’t even return my calls! I’m so happy with NF. I’m seeing Dr. Rose.

Mixed feelings here as well! I’m trying not to think about the actual surgery or I may panic. But I’m excited overall.
My pre-op appt is less than a week before my surgery. I won’t know about Vitamins or anything until then. Kinda annoyed because I’m a planner! I know I’ll be on full liquids by day 4 but I want a list so I can have a few things on hand. Oh well, trying to be patient.SimoneMonet and Sigi42 reacted to this

You sound like me. At 6-7 weeks I had lost 20 pounds since surgery. My surgeon was fine with that. I have had 2 week long stalls (week 3 and week 7) but then it starts up again. Hang in there!
