Feeling like I’m failing! Sleeved 3/1-only down 40 lbs and having a hard time. I self paid for this surgery because I was serious about getting myself healthier but I can’t seem to find the motivation. I do well one day then slip up the next. My surgeon said you loose the most weight the first year and he sounded disappointed in me. Anyone else struggling? How do you keep focused and motivated ???? Help !!!
I’m down 42 from surgery (3/7) I average around 2lbs a week. I’ve hit two stalls that lasted 2-3 weeks each time.
Stay focused! You got this one step at a time. You’re 40lbs less than you were!

  2. Since surgery on 3/7 I’m down 23# but for the last week and half I’ve stayed within a pound of the same weight. I’m still on the final soft stage so my foods are still limited, so this “stall” is a bit confusing for myself as well.
I did battle a stomach flu last week for a day plus a day recovery that I didn’t get to exercise.

How do we get outta this stall??

  3. My nutritionist gave directions for fat free & sugar free everything for full liquid diet. Then NSA (no sugar added) after that in pureed diet. I think the real key is the No Sugar Added (NSA).
For yogurt she highly recommend a blended greek yogurt with no chunks like the Oikos Triple Zero. It has 0 added sugar, 0 artificial sweetners & 0% fat. I found at least 4 of the flavors I liked.

Awesome thank you I’m going to go to the store and look for these. Do you know from what you’ve tried if the strawberry has chunks or not?

  4. Hi all, I’m currently wondering if anyone knows how much sugar we should be minding post op when it comes to yogurt ? I don’t see doc till Tuesday and hoping to get an appt with the NUT for questions like this. Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge.

My favorite has always been the Greek whips 100 cal , 9g Protein but 12g sugar

  5. This mirrors my recovery. I am post surgery day 7 today, but was cleared for full liquids yesterday. I believe I slept mostly on my stomach last night and sleeping is become a wonderful thing! I miss texture as well. My program has us reintroducing foods in stages, slowly. It won't be until next week when I can have pureed foods. Slow and steady wins the race.

I believe my doc keeps us on this next “stage 2” for 2 weeks then I go to the puréed.

Baby steps gets us there too!

  6. I’m 6 days post op and on liquid diet. I’m scheduled to go to doctor today and get the push to the next stage which includes yogurt , sugar free pudding, farina. I’m not hungry but I sure miss texture lol. My doctor allows crystal light but only listed lemonade and iced tea. I wonder if I could have other flavors. It’s on my list to ask today.

Last night was first night I slept on my stomach and oh what a great night of sleep it finally was!

  7. First night home in my own bed!! I slept hugging a pillow, which was very comfortable. I kept in check of the pain, and stayed on track with the pain meds. I slept until after noon!!! I'm having Jello for the first time since surgery on Tuesday. My goal is 48oz of clear fluids today, (4) five minute walks and healing!! How is everyone else doing?!

I’m 3 days post op and got most of the gas out at the hospital. They really get u moving so that helped.

Very sore, but each days get a little bit easier. Not sleeping well bc I’m a stomach sleeper and can’t just yet.

I’m not quite getting my Protein in. First day home I only did 30g of protein and Water. It was tough to drink so slowly and afraid of drinking too much.
But today It’s easier to drink, just not where I should be still with protein intake and fluids
