  1. That's exactly me. All tests good except the prediabetes! I did the seminar in November but didn't see the surgeon until the beginning of March. Oxford has me on 7 monthly visits with the nutritionist. I have my 1st visit on the 23rd. I'm also hoping for the end of the year surgery. Let's start 2019 off feeling better!
  2. Yeah I know but this part makes me feel so impatient. I like reading about everyone's journey and getting advice prior to surgery. This community is awesome.
  3. Seems most of you are having surgery soon. I'm at the very beginning. Met with surgeon and 2 weeks until my 1st of 7 months with the nutritionist. I know it will go fast but right now it feels it's dragging
  4. I go to a gym in Hackensack. My Dr is in Paramus and I will probably have the surgery at Pascack in Westwood
  5. Hi I'm in Bergen County. Just starting the process. Met with surgeon and have my 1st nutritionist appt on the 23rd. I go to the gym twice a week but need to go more and do machines. Since making this decision I feel so excited and impatient but I need to work on my eating habits. I hope to have surgery before years end. Everything hurts lol and i feel my energy level is non existent.
  6. This is a good. My boyfriend will be getting sleeved about 3 months or so before me if all goes as planned. Which is perfect because like you, I have English bulldogs. My 3 are older and 1 sometimes requires to be carried. So one of us has to be healed before the other goes in. I am also worried about eating in front of him. I am a big fan of my protein shakes in the morning now. I love them. So that's not an issue. I am worried about food at night. I guess I will have to wait for him and he can let me know how he feels about it. Either way, I will be supportive and do what I can to make his new journey easier and I hope he will do the same for me.
  7. I have been reading a lot the past couple of weeks. I have had my consultation with the surgeon. I am meeting with my gp Monday to get him on board. I have to make the 1st of my 7 months pre op requirements of nutritionist. I am thankful for that. I need to learn to be prepared for my post op life. I love reading all these stories and I can't wait to be one of the great stories.
  8. I drink musclepharm combat protein powder. I mix with an Atkins shake for more protein, ice cubes and collagen. Tastes great even with mixing with water. Has 25g protein, 5g carbs, gluten free
  9. I can't wait to walk and walk without hurting. I want to be able to do the things at the gym that I can't do now. I haven't been to an amusement park in ages. I love them. I don't want to be the most overweight person in the office. I want to wear heels without pain. Any kind of cute shoe without pain. Clothes...oh my clothes. I can't wait!
  10. I'd like to stay in touch and maybe help each other through this process Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. I have to call for my first visit with the nutritionist. Thankfully it's just a copay. Then I need to see my gp just to keep him in the loop. At least I won't be freaked out getting on his scale lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using BariatricPal mobile app

  23. Just replaced my old fit bit with fitbit blaze. I love the 2 classes and sometimes zumba that I do already. I've decided I need to up my water intake. I've been lax on that lately. I'm trying to cut back on coffee or move to decaf. That will be hard Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. Thank you sooooo much for this info. Right now I'm at the gym twice a week. Once for a Barre class and once with a trainer. I am going back to protein shakes for 2 meals. That should help I think. I need to up my gym days to 3-4 times a week even if it's just to use the treadmill. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using BariatricPal mobile app
