    Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!

@DaystarDreams I am like you no symptoms. I asked the doctor was something wrong. He said no I was just one of th lucky ones and that means i will heal faster. I had no probalmss gettingmy liquids in after day 3/4. I never had nausea or vomiting, THANK GOD and KNOCK OM WOOD. I’m in purée/semi soft stages now and I will go to all soft foods on Wednesday. I was sleeved 4/12
  2. I know everyone’s body is different and loses R different rates. However I’m one week post op as of today and I’m so frustrated that I’m only down one pound. Fluids and protein have not been that much of a problem. With the restriction I just assumed I would have lost by now. Hell, I lost more weight,8 pounds, on my 1 week pre op liquid diet than post op. WITW!!
  3. I’m one week out from surgery and my husband and best friend are making menhavwbsecond thoughts. They have no idea they both agree. My husband says I’ve had enough surgeries during my lifetime from car accidents and complications post car accident. I’ve also have a history of sepsis (infection) every time I get opens up for surgery. He know what I went through with all that.ni think he’s just afraid of what could happen or me not pulling through this time ans my friend said likewise. I really and and nee this surgery but now I feel like I’m second guessing myself. My initial plan was to have the sleev but the doctor takes me into duodenal switch because it’s less likely for weight gain. I agreed but also has second thoughts about that particular lad surgery just because of all the additional nutrients you malabsorption va the other surgeries. In my head I was also think duodenal would allow me to lose weight faster than the sleeve. Then again i don’t want to loose too much I don’t want to be looking too skinny from excessive weight lost from duodenal (CW 232 GW 150-160). Although not reversible the sleeve is less invasive and not switching around parts. Then again I’ve had a gastric ballon (obera ballon) and maybe lost 10 pound at most so that was also my reasoning for wanting duodenal switch more aggressive than sleeve as to me the obera balloonMimics restriction just like sleeve but it’s temporary. As you can see I’m a week out from surgery and all over the place. HELP!!! Has anyone that is slightly obese or obese who has extremely hard time losing weight even with diet or excercise had success from the sleeve? How fast did you lose weight?

    Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!

I was sleeved 4/12 and I’m hungry but I’m sticking to my fluids and protein shakes. Did anyone get hungry after surgery? I thought after sleeve part of the stomach that produces the hormone can’t rember what it’s called gets cut away so you don’t feel hunger:

    Protein water

Sam’s club is cheaper than amazon for protein 20 amazon is $23 sams club is $16.66. I like both and purchased both just to mix it up and not get use to one taste.
  7. Although I feel the duodenal switch would be most benecial I’m terrified of the lack of nutrients. The duodenal switch has the most nutrient/vitamins loss. In additions Inknow it’s superficial but I’m so afraid of losing and thinning hair. Has anyone had the duodenal switch? It has many names but to make a long story short it’s the combination of sleeve and bypass.

  9. Waiting to hear the results of this as well. My friend is interested and has BCBS of NC as well. Yes another North Carolinian. I can’t be of help as I am paying for mine. This is interesting as my doctors office told me insurances don’t cover DS. However I’ve seen a couple people in the forum they have had theirs covered by Insursnce-United Health Care. Anyway good luck! P
  10. What carrier do you have if you don’t mind me asking
  11. I know the feeling. Im not sure what insurance you have but i know i had one of the BCBS reps in my pre-op post off class. She said to fight it if it’s not improved. As a matter of fact I would go ahead or even had my PCP and bariatic surgeon to submit a personal statement pledging your case. You only recently found out this and everything is complete. Wollow for a few minutes but be proactive with the Statements. Again this came personally from an insurance rep. Even though August is not that long when you have your mind set on something and anticipation high, August seems far off. Believe me I know that’s why o elected to lay for my surgery but my situation is a little different. My circumstance was I changed insurance and I was not willing to wait as I had everything completed. Howeve defintley fight for yours!!!
  12. Thank you i just started my preop liquid diet today and already failed. However it was not with sugar but with protein. I needed to chew.
