  1. When did your weight stabalize? 12, 18, or 24 months out?
  2. OMG YOU LOOK GORGEOUS!!! WAY TO GO!!!!
  3. Exactly! That's what I'm wondering. I think doctors consider your weight as stabilized if you stay around the same weight for at least 6 months.
  4. oOOO! I hope that's what happens to me! Haha. That's so terrific. It's great to know that your body is still wanting to shed those pounds and you're not done yet.
  5. I'm thinking I've hit my "new normal" weight 7 months after surgery. I've been hovering around 149 for a month now. It's the first time since surgery I haven't lost and actually saw myself gain a pound. I was 149 three weeks ago and then I was 150, now I'm 149 again. I think a goal weight of 130 is probably unrealistic. 20 pounds seems like a lot to go now. Haha. Maybe I should consider 140 and just continue watching what I eat, making sure I get enough water and sleep, and continue to exercise. Ughh. I was hoping the weight loss results wouldn't stop 6 months out but I know I didn't have as much to lose.
  6. Just curious when everyone was able to swallow pills/vitamins whole again. Still a crushin' over here and I'm so tired of it. Lol
  7. So I'm in month 6 and I noticed lately I can eat a lot more without my stomach getting uncomfortable. Is this part of the natural healing process? Or maybe it's because I upped my exercise? How was YOUR appetite 6 months out? I don't need to be concerned do I? (Other than watching what and how much I eat? LOL)

    Vision issues

I had vision changes after surgery that lasted about two weeks or so. Reading texts was difficult. Letters seemed to be fuzzier and reading made me dizzy. It was very disconcerting! But fortunately, it was only a temporary side effect of the anesthesia.

    Menstrual Cycle

I got my period the day I left the hospital and I’ve had regular periods since surgery. I used to get my periods every couple of months or so. I’m now more regular than I’ve ever been. So strange!
  10. I am 5 months post op and at a weight where I can finally run again without hurting my joints. I can run a mile without stopping which is a sheer miracle. I absolutely love running but I'm afraid now that I am consistent with it, I will begin to gain muscle and I may gain weight. I know that's dumb. How do you battle the scale and weight loss while also working out and building muscle? I don't know why but I'm so afraid I'll stop losing weight. I have 25 pounds to go, so I know I'm close and I don't want to mess it up!

    Losers bench

Congratulations!!! Glad to see you here!!!
  13. I could not eat or drink anything after surgery without major stabbing pains/cramps in my abdomen. This lasted at least five days after surgery and gradually eased up over the days. I think by the second week it had vanished. My doctor didn't know what to tell me after checking everything out and it was fine. But I HAD to drink through the pain and it was awful. I would wince and hold my breath after every sip of water. Thank god that's over!

    Discomfort after every meal

I am 4 months post. Depending on the type of food I eat, I will still feel discomfort. I can't tolerate fried or fatty foods well anymore, so now I just avoid them. I've had much better luck with lean, healthy foods (but sometimes even healthy food doesn't agree with me LOL). What kind of foods are you eating?
  15. I was pretty tired the first two weeks. Then after that it was a crap shoot day to day. I'd say by month two the "trauma" of surgery lost its effect on my energy level. I had surgery on a Wednesday and went back to work the following Monday. For me it was doable.

How much Biotin do you take?

I take 5,000 mcg of liquid biotin daily (usually). And I'm having mad crazy hair loss. HOWEVER. My eyelashes look awesome these days!! LOL!

    Surgical Glue.....

My glue seemed to want to stick around forever! I think I still had incision glue clinging tight 6 weeks post. I picked the edges off and waited for the remaining glue to rub off "naturally".
  18. Thank you so much you guys!!! OMG this is so great to hear!!

    Weight Loss and Siatica

I had something similar - not sciatica, but meralgia paresthetica. It too is a pinched nerve - a femoral nerve that when compressed causes tingling, burning and numbness in your outer thigh. I've lost 54 pounds since surgery on 2/28/18 and this condition has all but disappeared. Truly amazing. I bet your condition will be, at the very least, alleviated in the coming months. I've got my fingers crossed for you!

    Post your progress pics!

I can't believe how much this surgery has done for me. It makes me tear up.
  22. I am 5'6" and weighed 215. I'm a little over 4 months out and have lost 54 pounds total so far.
  23. Sleeved 2/28/2018. (5'6", SW 207, BMI 33.4) March = 23 lbs lost April = 9 lbs lost May = 5 lbs lost Boy, does that weight loss reeeeeally slow down. I think I need to step things up. More exercise, more water, and less carbs. UGH. I have gotten my period 4 times now. It's insane because I was used to getting my period once every two or three months. My meralgia paresthetica (numbness in my outer right thigh) is almost gone. I wonder what other things are going on in my body that I just can't see! LOL
  24. I had to do two weeks worth of injections after surgery. As I was leaving the hospital the nurse said, "let me show you how you're going to do your injections." WHOOOOA, I'm sorry, what did you say???? Holy crap, I HATE needles - how am I going to do this????!!! Well, I told myself, do you want to die? No. Do you want to be skinny? Yes. Well, quit acting like a little B and let's do this. It wasn't as painful as I thought but somehow I did it. So if anyone is worried they won't be able to do it, you'll be amazed at how strong you are and what you will do to make this surgery work.

    Slow Incision Healing

That's so strange! I'm sure it will eventually close up. Since it's not infected, that's great. I'd show it to your doc at your next appt.
