I called the office and realized they close early on Friday. I have his cell phone number but it feels weird to call and I’m afraid to get a lecture. Lol

So I’m finally home after the surgery and I can’t drink the recommended amount of water the doctor has ordered me to drink without experiencing pain. How does one keep up with hydration in light of stomach pain? Any tips?

My energy was way down on Tuesday. I walked markedly slower. Later on that night I felt faint. The next day I was bursting with energy. Today I feel sluggish again. No change in my protein/vitamin intake. So weird. I'm one week post op and just wanted to share my experience so far.

I’m experiencing the exact same thing. Totally hungry all the time and feel like I may be eating too much? Im just gonna give it some time. See how this continues to play out. From reading so many others’ posts, seems like the journey has a lot of twists and turns. Hang in there kiddo!

Why am I doing this? Did I blow it? Feeling the stress....

How horrible. Dr. should have provided advice, and maybe most importantly, encouragement. Seems like an uninvolved doctor. -
unflavored protein powder
logicwand replied to lorena090's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought unflavored protein powder and mixed it with jello, YUCK! Didn't want to mix it with anything else after that. I definitely prefer flavored shakes to it. That's how I get a majority of my protein now that I'm one week post op. -
Had surgery Wednesday 2/28 and went back to work Monday 3/5. I was tired the first two days but have been having better energy sometimes. I have a desk job so it has definitely been easier for me to return to work so soon. I would have taken a week off, but I don't want my co-workers to suspect I had WLS.

Scared thinking of canceling surgery
logicwand replied to Sarahrosesb's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My family has influenced my decisions since I was very young. They are pretty controlling. In my late 30s I began therapy because of my depression and realized I was afraid to make my own decisions because they were usually made for me. Since then I have become much more comfortable with who I am, taking my life in my own hands, and not letting them influence my decisions anymore. They mean well and we love each other. But I have my own beliefs and have had to learn that it's okay and they are just as valid as my family's beliefs. And regarding the surgery, I of course have a lot of the same sentiments as my family, so that gives you pause. But the one thing thing that kept me on that operating table was thinking about how I'd feel in 10 years. I'd be in more pain and regret not reclaiming my life earlier. -
It sucks that no one replied yet. Maybe do a search for "TIjuana" in the forums and see what previous posts come up.

Chewed Piece of Chicken, Spit it Out
logicwand replied to logicwand's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank goodness I'm not the only one!! Maybe we shouldn't be so hard on ourselves. Maybe it's a totally natural reaction to being cut off from what we've done our entire lives at least 3 times a day...eat, eat, eat. -
I just purchased Vitamin Patches for your skin from PatchMD here on BariatricPal. I am not looking forwarding to constantly taking pills or chews. I bought a multivitamin, B12, and calcium. I will report back on how easy they are to use, if they're annoying, etc. I'm going to give it a month's worth and see what happens.

I had surgery exactly one week ago and have lost 10 lbs. This is definitely the fastest I have ever or will ever lose weight. LOL It slows down from here big time. The first week after surgery should be called the Golden Week. Haha.

Has anyone taken this journey alone? Tips?
logicwand replied to NYCNomad's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I slept a lot when I came home from the hospital. Watching TV helped keep my mind off everything. I just set alarms to remember medication and forced myself to drink as much water as possible. It wasn’t bad for me at all. -

Yes, hospital will not release you to an uber or taxi driver. I looked into hiring a home care aid for half a day on care.com Not as expensive as you think and they will pick you up. My brother ended up getting me, but I would look at care.com for medical transportation. I know you know the surgery is going to be tough and being alone possibly tougher. But honestly, I enjoyed recuperating alone and not being around someone constantly. -
I hate eating out now!

Wow, it looks like a business card. I'd have that thing laminated!! Definitely gonna ask my doctor for one of these! -
6 day Update: Ugh. I didn't do as well today. I think I got about 20oz of water in. 30g of protein. This is gonna be tough. Still very bad hunger pains, and still no solid poop. At least no more diarrhea. I keep thinking about Domino's thin crust pepperoni pizza. Waaaah!!!

One year post op, hungry all the time!
logicwand replied to Ghada's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ugh. I hope you guys are still dealing with this okay. I have a feeling that this will be me since I am constantly hungry after surgery. I'm wondering if I will have to keep a large snack bag in my purse the rest of my life. Right next to the makeup bag. -
When does the hunger return?
logicwand replied to sillykitty's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is exactly how I feel right now. I have been starving since surgery last week. I just started wondering how much longer I can do this liquids thing. I know people say the pureed stage is tough but I'm dying for some eggs or something. Ugh. But for your sake SillyKitty, I hope that feeling lasts forever for you!! That's so awesome. I'm totally jelly. -
I hear you! Ugh, I woke up and realized how painful it was to swallow my own saliva. Still have pain sometimes after drinking water. I hope it goes away soon. It has gotten better but the first 3 days it was excruciating !

Anyone not need plastic surgery?

Jenn, you’re an inspiration! You look incredible!!! -
I had to do blood work before EGD, before surgery, and after surgery. Three weeks before my EGD blood work I took a couple hits off a pipe. No one said anything to me. Not sure if it didn’t show up, it wasn’t tested for, or if they didn’t care.
