I feel so good today because I crashed hard yesterday! Pain meds gave me a solid two hour nap and then I fell asleep easily at 8:30 and didn’t wake until 6:30. It’s amazing what a good nights rest can do.

Your doing so well. I been sleeping alot since Tuesday. I am still in the hospital and just taking ice chips but nausea is so much better to today and no more vomiting either. Dealing with a Migraine. Still better than I was.

You'll do great. I was first case today. So far so good. Minimal discomfort, lots of gas pains. Can't wait to drink tomorrow. I'll be praying that the Lord keeps you safe during your procedure. Xo

Thank you so much, on the way now. Hope you are doing well and able to drink something today.

Woo Hoo Ladies - I'm nearly 12 hours away from my surgery. I have to check in at 5:30am so I'm going to go to bed as early as possible tonight. I did one final kickboxing workout this morning so hoping that will help put me to sleep later on.

I've been wrapping up all sorts of errands to get things done before my surgery. Grocery shopping and meal planning for the family is done. Did a bunch of laundry and left some instructions for the hubby. I'm so grateful that I can afford someone to clean my house and they'll be coming while I'm in the hospital so I get to come to a completely clean and clutter free home.

    Ready to go!!!

Lucky you!!!!! See you on the losers bench. I have to check in at 615 am. Probably be a few hrs after that b4 actual surgery. Good luck friend...

Okay guys! It worked! I pooped haha after the MoM .. could being constipated be a reason why I gained 1 pound from yesterday to today?

Oh sure it could or some Water retention. Those are normal fluctuations of your weight. Hey, sweetie try to NOT weigh everyday and be a slave to your scale. Happy it worked for you. You can usually count on MOM for relief.

Scheduling some bills in advance , doing some laundry. So things will be done while I am in hospital . My Mom lives with us, shes 78 and will do too much if I let her. I will be in the hospital from Tues to Friday so going to pack my bag tomorrow. I dont have young children anymore so no meal planning. Only my youngest still lives at home and goes to Georgia Southern University which starts the day of my surgery. Shes becoming a science teacher for HS. Husband is in the US Army. Thats my story...

What bade? I live in Augusta Ga and work at Eisenhower!!

After many last-minute hurdles to jump through the last few weeks (as late as Friday there was still uncertainty - I discovered on Thursday I had to have a CPAP machine at the hospital - so I had one day (Friday) to acquire one. Also PCP only cleared me for surgery last Wednesday (had to get cardiac clearance after a last minute echocardiogram) - surgery is a go for tomorrow - fingers crossed! I'll try to post updates...

Oh wow, they threw alot at you at the last minute. Best wishes and keep us updated and how your doing.

    Well, tomorrow’s the big day!

RNY bypass first thing in the morning

Today is day three of my liquid diet. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be. I’m not hungry, I just want to chew something and Jello just doesn’t cut it.

I was planning on sleeping the day away so tomorrow would come and I could just get this over with, but my back just isn’t going to let that happen. So, I guess I’ll try and keep busy.

Oh Good Luck, excited for you. I will right behind you Tuesday. And my back is the same way. Are you nervous??

  8. Been quite a day for me. Surgery is Tuesday. My daughter who is 19 woke me up crying in pain. Thank God she was the only patient in the ER waiting room so we went straight back. So much pain ended up that she has a kidney stone that has now made it to the bladder. Poor kid. Glad I there to take her to the hospital. Back at home now and ready for my surgery.

@mercmerc I think mine says 30-60mL for adults. I think I’ve been just doing 30mL and sometimes less depending on how blocked up/full/bloated I’m feeling. In my experience it has worked better when I take it in the evening for a BM the next day than in the morning or early afternoon, but it’s difficult to know for sure.

Okay! I took 2 Tbs!! Which is 30 ml!! So maybe I should do more?

If your that backed up , i would for sure than drink what Water u can manage after. I hate to say it but can u do a enema to get things moving or dulcolax suppositories ? Doing both ends at once.

I had a lot of issues with Constipation, but I was home the same day I had surgery. (sleeve w/ hh repair) and wish I had taken something earlier. I'm better now though. I am not sure what the tightness is but I've heard it from several people. I think the area behind my incision is part of the healing process and scar tissue forming.

As far as gas pain goes, just like everyone else will tell you, walking helps a lot. Pats on the back help too. I liked mine more like pounding on my back.

I am going to bring things to the hospital for constipation like Miralax, suppositories. And taking colace now twice a day. I don't have a liquid preop diet so maybe this well help also. Thanks for your response.
