  1. Hey February family, my check in

Everything seems to be going good. I’m grateful for all of you being here and sharing your experiences. I really feel so much better physically, walking stairs with no pain, sleeping better and so much energy. If there is a downside, I have problems with eating chicken. It doesn’t matter how it’s cooked, it has to be chopped into tiny bites before I chew it to paste, and then sometimes it still gets stuck on its way down. I don’t seem to have that problem with any other Protein. That being said, I really don’t have cravings or feel hungry yet. I fuel my body with protein and veggies and a piece of fruit a day. Have gone low carb, after figuring out that when I eat carbs, my joints become inflamed and I retain Fluid.< /p>

3 1/2 months post surgery. I’m so amazed at how great I feel after losing 100 lbs. No more struggling to walk up stairs. I can walk without tiring or having pain. I’m even riding a motorcycle again. I feel like I’ve been given a second chance at enjoying life to it’s fullest. It is nice to have a place where we all understand how difficult this journey can be. I’m cheering for everyone here. We can do it!

I’m still having trouble getting enough liquids. I have set a series of reminders on my watch😬

Not wanting food, but getting my Protein in every day as well as my supplements.

Feeling better every day. I still have an occasional pain near the biggest incision site, feels almost like a muscle cramp (I’m assuming that it’s the muscle mending). Other than not being able to lift stuff, I’m back to normal activity.

Good luck everyone on our continued journeys👍

I think for me it is more along the lines of not being able to just eat whatever anymore. I am so used to just grabbing whatever I want and be on my way. It sucks to feel that out of control. But I know reality is I have 1 week til pre op liquid diet and then I have to do what it takes to succeed. No excuses

You can do it!!! Something that has helped me is staying away from television and all of the advertising that tries to encourage you to indulge. I still watch programs, but on Hulu or Netflix which are commercial free. Another thing I did was aromatherapy, I splurged and got an expensive perfume that i love the smell of and every time I thought about food, I’d sniff my wrist (my family thinks I’m nuts) it worked. Good luck, and keep reminding yourself why you are doing it

I am almost two weeks post op now and it did come off thankfully plus some...lol my heart rate and blood pressure is finally starting to even back out as well. Although it seems my heart rate is running higher than it was ore surgery.

So glad that things are evening out for you. I’m finding that my body is taking awhile to adjust to it’s redesigned engine. I just started non puréed Proteins a couple of days ago, and am finding it harder than ever to get enough fluids because I feel fuller for longer. Every day is a learning experience post surgery.

Hey peeps I had my sleeve done Friday and returned home from the hospital today...of course the first thing I did was get in the scale. I noticed I put 10lbs back on. I believe I maybe paranoid. But I had a problem with my heart rate and very low blood pressure. Has this happened to anyone else?

My Doctor advised not to get on the scales for the week after surgery. They pump so much Fluid into you after surgery and you have a lot of swelling as well. It is normal to come out of the hospital weighing more. It should come off pretty quickly.

  7. Hi all, had my Gastric Bypass yesterday at 8:30 a.m. went really well. No pain except where the drain is (it will be taken out this morning before they release me). The hardest part was them trying to take blood for labs this morning) The best part, a healthier life to look forward to.

Good luck to everyone already recovering this month and all of you that still awaiting your surgery.

  8. My date is February 12th. So I’m on day 11 of my two week pre-op liquid diet. I went caffeine free two months ago, because I knew it would be hard to do. I’ve been drinking the heck out of caffeine free herbal tea. So far I haven’t had any strong cravings and haven’t felt hungry. I’m using Premier Protein and also Isopure powder (I add PB2 powder or cinnamon or cardamom or sugar free Davinci or Torani Syrup for variety) My broth is Better Than brand roasted chicken and roasted beef. I also use sugar free drink liquid additives from Tang and Kool-Aid (my favorites are Orange pineapple Tang and Blue Raspberry Kool-Aid) A couple of things that have really helped me 1. Giving up television (8 out of 10 ads are likely to be food) I now watch programs on Netflix or Hulu 2. Aromatherapy I splurged and bought perfume that I enjoy wearing to keep a little spritz on my wrist so if I smell food I can distract myself by sniffing my wrist (caution, my family and coworkers think I’ve gone a bit daff LOL).

Best of Luck to everyone. We can do this!

little note: I’ve lost 37lbs in 4 months (10 of it in the last 11 days)
