  1. so excited for my surgery on 2/28. three days in on the pre-op diet, and im finding that every day im less hungry than the day before. my pre-op, for those interested, is 1000 calories low carb (1 lean cuisine, 4 shakes, and veggies). my body actually is feeling better, except my energy levels. I really hope I get used to eating so few calories - because DANG am I tired!

those who just got sleeved, congratulations! how do you all feel? how is your pain and hunger?

Congrats! I did pretty good on the second day I went home. But when I got home have had my on and off days sometimes, a suggestion to you after surgery when u get home and. Are trying to drink and get your Protein in get the clear juice-like Protein Drinks. They will count as liquids and your Proteins. Oh and one more thing is I was feeling hungry when I see food or smell food but couldn’t get it down if I wanted too, that will pass too!

  2. Hahaha I definitely thought that same thing!! I had my surgery yesterday. Gas pains were horrible but I feel much better today. I seem to keep feeling better after every nap. Liquids are tough but I’m doing ok keeping them down now. Now so much yesterday. I haven’t attempted my Protein Shake yet. Only thing I’ve had other than Water is a sugar free popscicle. I’m going to start my Protein and Jello tomorrow I guess

Just to put it out there I have found two clear Liquid Protein drinks.. they taste really good and as long as I’m drinking those it gets my fluids in too! One is protein2o with lots of good flavors and great premium clear Protein Drink which comes in fruit punch..both can be bought at sams club!

  3. The anesthesia kicked my a$$ so I didn’t do much in the hospital besides sleep and use the bathroom lol but the only things I used for sure were my own pajamas, robe, slippers, and pillows. My iPad. And chapstick. Oh and toothbrush and toothpaste. I packed my contacts, face wash, hair brush, etc and didn’t even take it out of my suitcase.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you! I’m hoping to not overpack, but somehow I think we all do!

  4. This morning I had my pre-admission testing.
Not long after I got to my desk, the hospital billing office called and let me know that insurance had approved me. (the I called the insurance company and confirmed it.)
Holy crap. This is *actually happening* - one week from tomorrow (2/18).

Congratulations! It will go by fast! Start packing now than as you remember stuff you can put it in[emoji1]

  5. The things I packed that I used the most were a pair of sweat pants (keeps you from mooning everyone when you walk around), an eye mask (lets you sleep even if your roommate has a light on all night) and ear plugs also for sleep. I used my phone and ipad a bit, but not a lot, most of the time I was asleep or walking. I was able to shower at the hospital and brining my own hypo allergenic Shampoo and soap was important and useful.

    Thank you for your help!

  6. Hi. WOOHOO! You're time has finally come. I packed 2 pair of comfy pants and tops (and was also wearing the same), plenty of underwear (wasn't sure how long I'd be there and I always pack double of what I need), deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloths, and a bath sheet from home. I only used the clothes I was wearing and one pair of underwear plus toiletries bc I was in and out in about 22 hours. I packed my own medium firmness pillow which I intentionally left in the car bc I didn't want to mistakenly leave it there (like I did the at the overnight sleepy test) and I used it by placing it against my stomach on the ride home. I saw the tip posted on here by another member and it helps. Oh, I did pack socks too but didn't need them bc I left hospital socks on.

Thank you so much for your help! I will pack my pillow great plan!

  7. I packed an entire suitcase with all my "just in case" items and used absolutely nothing. I slept the first day/night and didn't want to do much when I was awake. The next day I didn't bother even changing my gown because I was scared to move or stretch too much (although I wasn't in pain lol). By the time I got up felt like a person that afternoon, they were in the process of discharging me so I put back on the clothes I wore there. I may have used my phone twice in between naps but didn't even need my charger because I wasn't using it enough to lose juice. Everything i could have possibly wanted or needed was provided.

Thank you! I will try not to overpack[emoji4]

  8. I only packed a robe, slippers, and some essentials like lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, and chapstick. Of course my phone, charger, and some headphones. After surgery, there’s no time to relax. Always being checked for vitals, given meds, and hoping to catch some sleep in between all the poke and prodding. Also, you’ll be having to walk as much as possible...so there’s really no down time for anything else, at least for me there wasn’t. Didn’t take much because the hospital supplied basically all of my needs, just ask for it. They even had toothpaste and toothbrushes and shampoo/conditioner, etc.

    Thank you!
