1. Ok hear is a weird thought you were concerned about your two day stall, are you constipated or swelling because you are more active now. I ask because I start to swell a lot still.

I have only gone to the bathroom twice and I’m not sure if I’m swollen or not

  2. Hi everyone! I was sleeved 2/14 and had my 1 week checkup today. Down 12 lbs and I get to start soft foods. I was looking forward to it but with as much trouble as I'm having getting all my fluids and Protein on full liquids, I can't even wrap my mind around getting enough when I'm eating actual food yet! I seem to have to choose either not enough Protein but getting all 64 oz in, or adding protein and forcing myself to get at least 48 oz of fluids in a day. I know it'll get easier with time though.

    Great job!

  3. I am at a loss as of today of 10. 4 lbs I am expecting a stall or to really slow down soon once I start actually getting alittle carbs. eating about 300 to 450 in calories but expect now to be 400 to 600 range

Yeah I’m thinking maby I’ll have to eat more calories too.

  4. I left the hospital on 2/15 weighing 233 (which was just a little higher that right before surgery) but I am now at 217. I’ve weighed 217 for the past 2 days and kinda started freaking out but I should not get on the scale everyday, but it’s extremely hard not to. I had my post op visit yesterday and he want me to lose 25 pounds by the next time I see him which is next month [emoji15]! Obviously that would be amazing but I’m just hoping I can do it. I went back to the gym today and did the elliptical for about 30 minutes and I just felt really out of shape and weak.
As far as eating goes I’m mostly just doing creamed Soups, yogurt and maybe a little cream of wheat and my Protein Shakes. Getting about 400-550 calories/day.Drinking Water more normally now—no more little baby sips, which makes getting it all down easier. Never really hungry so that’s a plus.
    How are you doing?

I am doing well! I go for my post op on Tuesday my weight just before surgery was 213 and I’m now at 206 my scale has not moved for a couple of days also...I’m already not sure about how I feel only loosing 7 pounds...I am at about 4-5 hundred calories and my Docter allows anything that can be puréed into baby food consistency..

  5. Two weeks out....give it time. Comparing your weight loss with others will make you a bit crazy..lol
It's normal to hear that people are disappointed at their rate of weight loss. It's not a race. We all lose at different rates.
[emoji3] You are going to look back after a year out and realize how fast your weight loss actually was.

Thank you! I just hope I’m doing everything right I just don’t want to fail!

  6. I agree with alexmcintyre. Eating small, frequent, protein-packed meals is excellent. Protein helps fill you. Also, limit your carbs throughout the day. Some carbs tend to not satisfy your hunger and some carbs can also lead to wanting more carbs.
If you have break-through hunger in-between your meals, then it is good to keep healthy Snacks on hand: Proteins such as cheese, some yogurts, etc... or even might want to keep some fresh cut veggies on hand, such as red peppers, cucumbers, carrots, snap peas. Yum!
As for the eating, and then the food coming back up, that could be acid reflux. I am dealing with it right now at 15 months out. If it continues to bother you, do mention it to your doctor.

Thank you mylighthouse great ideas and words of encouragement!

  7. Yes!! I had surgery on the 12th and take a hard core nap daily. I really hate this more than the discomfort after surgery! I did 2 loads if dishes-wiped. Get the kids out the door for school-exhausted. Took a walk with my son today, and my back aches!! Ugh! Ready for this to be over!

I was sleeved on the 12 th also! I think I will keep up with naps and just not feel bad about it but it will be better when this stage is over!

  8. I just had RnY on February 14th, and I was told it's normal to feel tired because our bodies are adjusting to a major surgery, calorie intake is low etc. The closer you get to meeting a 80 gram Protein goal and 64 oz fluids you will feel better. Every few days I make a broth with ramen noodles packets and that kind of picks me up!

Oh that’s a great idea for the broth!

  9. I’m feeling quite hungry, especially when I smell food! But then I eat about 2-3 tablespoons and it goes down ok but about a half hour later I feel it coming back up again and sometimes I have to kind of swallow it back down...I haven’t thrown up but it sure feels like I will sometimes has anyone else experienced this?

  10. I am one week out today and I’m feeling the same way. Extremely tired. Yesterday I felt like I had so much more energy. Today, not at all. Reading everyone’s comments helps out a lot. I also have been taking naps daily.

Yes I feel like I need a nap every day! I’m a week and 2 days!

  11. Hello All,
My surgery date [02/20/2018] is approximately 28 hours away and I'm as terrified as I am excited, and then some more. This will be my first surgery of any sort and can't believe I started my "Lifestyle Change Journey" back in October of 2017 and now the day is almost here.
Could use some prayers and words of encouragement right now to help with the anxiety. There's no turning back and I will be spending my day drinking clear liquids and doing anything to keep my mind off of it until it's time.
Thanks for reading and looking forward to joining the loser's bench and start living a Happy LIFE!

Congratulations first of all! You will do just fine...I was nervous too and it wasn’t even my first surgery lol! But don’t worry when you get to the hospital they will give you something for the anxiety and it will make it all go away trust me I don’t even remember going into the or after that Medicean. But prayers for you and your big day it will all be worth it!
