  1. Last night I was working, shooting photos at a small high school pageant, the evening wrapped up, all went perfectly well, until I was leaving. My husband went to the car first, I then went out and started to walk down the 4 concrete stairs and just fell, rolling down and totally went into a lot of pain and shock. After a trip to the ER room, I have a break in my leg and a break in my ankle. Two breaks at once! :tt1: So, today is my 3 week anniversary since my lap-band surgery on 4/19 and now I have to finish healing from the surgery, nurse two breaks and not exercise. I am in shock over this whole thing. Unreal! I just needed to vent and I will need some support as this won't be easy. It is the first break in my whole life - I have sprained joints, but never had a fracture. What luck - just awful. I am happy that my band area seems to be fine though, that is a blessing!

    Fill Doctors

My Doctor told me of this place for my fills. I was banded on 4/19 by Dr. Corvalain Tijuana. World Med Assist helped me find him and the Fill Centers USA. I am very happy with all of the above! So far 21 lbs. lost and still working hard at it. Although this has not been hard, but just so exciting!!!!!! ROSWELL: 1st & 3rd Saturdays every month from 10:00 - 4:00 by appointment; Darlene Zebley is the person that works with patients. $200.00 x-ray plus the regular fee $349.00- first visit; visits beyond $120.00 plus regular fee $165.00. Office consult only $85.00. You can get fills from www.fillcentersusa.com If you have any other questions - ask me!! Debbie Clanton - I'm down with an injured leg and only a computer to entertain me.
  3. I have lost 19 pounds at this point. My surgery was 4/19 in Tijuana at Hospital Angeles with Dr. Corvala as my surgeon. He was fabulous. The hospital, staff and all involved were wonderful. I feel so much better, have had no difficulty at all. I am following a guideline of eating by John Hopkins University from a google search for lap-band diets. Also, I have a copy of Emory University Hospital's diet for lap-band. They are very similar and if you follow these diets by the book, you should do great! I am so happy I did this, I would absolutely do it again!
  4. This Saturday May 3 will be two weeks since I was banded. I have really been feeling great, losing weight very easily and keeping liquids down with no problem. Today I had severe left shoulder pain, which has not happened after the first 4 days or so. I ended up taking a cup of coffee, adding frozen yogurt, protein powder and ice, mixing it up in the blender and drinking about 4 ounces of it, it totally helped me to pass the gas and go to the restroom. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this much gas at 2 weeks past surgery day? My stomach is sore at the port area as well. Is this normal? Other than that I truly feel great! I am happy to have had this surgery and very happy for changing my life.

    New to LapBanding

You won't regret this if you do it! I am so very happy I did this and would do it again tomorrow!
  6. Congrats on your surgery date! You will not regret it. Mine was 4/19 and I am doing very well. Main thing to remember is walk - walk - walk -walk....as soon as you can and don't stop. Our hospital said 15 min. per hour. That gets rid of the gas used to air up your tummy for the surgery. Follow the diets and doctors orders to the word, don't risk your own cravings as your band needs to settle properly and not slip or move. It is wonderful and you will lose the weight!!!! Keep us posted on your progress.
  7. My doctor and my father's doctors have all told us the pre-op liquid diet is for 2 reasons. #1 - to shrink your liver as it is a delicate organ and has to be moved during the surgery to get to your stomach. #2 - to start shrinking your stomach and in advance prepare you physically and mentally for the diet of post-op.
  8. Best of luck to you! You will do great. I had mine the 19th of April, so far from the pre-op diet to this morning I have lost 16 lbs. You will do good, just follow all doctor orders and walk - walk - walk - walk.

  11. Hello! I did my research online and then by asking others that had been there or gone through the surgery. I am doing very well and am losing weight daily! ---- Thanks for the comments on my name! I have played piano professionally most of my life and started playing at 4 years old. I now play for fun. It is great you are going to be a teacher of music!!!!! I taught privately for 15 years. Keep me posted on your surgery news.

    Lap-Band Trip 4/19 - 24/2008

My surgery was in Tijuana, MX on 4/19/08 at Hospital Angeles. Doctor Corvala was wonderful and the entire hospital staff took the best care of me I could ever imagine. I would do it again! My stay in San Diego was just wonderful too. My Mother and sister-n-law joined me!
