  1. I thought this was going to be about euthanasia!
Anyways, I know what you mean, my hair was so dark brown most people thought it was black, I generally get it coloured chocolate with reds mixed in. But the grey its a dirty colour grey so I will probably cover it with a lighter colour when the coverage goes mostly grey. I like the stark white hair (though I know its not white its just a good tone of grey/silver) some people wear it well.

    HAHAHA!!! Me too!!

I say try to brighten it a bit. 20 year olds are dying thier hair gray nowadays!!

  2. My nutritionist said this was pretty normal, especially for me -who drank 5-6 cups of coffee a day pre-surgery!! It affected my blood sugar levels. She said people who ate a lot of sugar before sometimes get almost hyper-glycemic after surgery. She said a bit if Water and juice should help. Of course, I bought orange juice and sipped it all day and it really helped! Nothing works like coffee though![emoji6]

  3. I also had that kind of diet, all liquids for 4 weeks. It was hard but honestly I think it set me up for better success. I followed my doctors advice religiously. I see a LOT of posts on here where people play games with the doctors advice, and do what they want. Time will tell if they succeed. I don't EVER want to do surgery agai, in my mind it is "all or nothing" I used that liquid phase to work on my mental relationship with food, and all my mind sets.
As far as cleaning goes, you can shower when the stitches have disolved. I only had one stitch, and the other spots were "superglued".
    Good luck kiddo!!

  4. I just went out for my husbands birthday and followed the suggestion of appetizers for a meal. I did this all the time at Friendly's with their chicken quesadillas before surgery anyway. This time I ordered bwef tips! It worked out perfectly, or at least it would have if I had not got on the side salad to go with it. I knew there was no way I could finish it, but I wanted my mail to look balanced!

A few days later I went out with my friend for dinner, and ordered fish and chips. I didn't eat ANY of the fries but brought them home for the kids. I was able to eat probably about 2 oz of fish, and just told her I made the mistake of eating later in the afternoon. I may have looked a little odd picking off the breading from my fish but honestly I didn't care. I usually do that anyway!

  5. I don’t eat Pasta or bread so mostly focus on Protein. I love restaurants that serve lentil Soup, raw foods(sliced avacado over bean sprouts, garbanzo Beans, sliced boiled egg, cold boiled shrimp). Pretty much stay away from any fast food places but in a fix will get 4 count grilled chicken nuggets and diet lemonade from Chick-fil-A. I still love gourmet cheeses but I literally log everything I eat in fitness pal. There is a forum there for us sleevers. Wishing you the best on your journey.

    Thats GREAT news!!

  6. I dont eat out often but i do it for my wife.
anyplace with a large appetizer list works for me. i tend to skip dinner plates.
i like the chicken won ton taco's at applebees . 3 real small chicken taco's and i ask to get my iced tea to go so i can drink it later in the car.
Dont be afraid to ask for something to left off.
always ask about sauces.< br> my one and only truly awful meal out was when i failed to ask about a sauce in a chinese restaurant and the sugar level in the sauce was much higher than i was expecting and i was sick as a dog by the time i was chewing on the 2nd bite. Talk about negative reinforcement. i know i never want to go thru that again.
i like to ask if they have salsa in the kitchen and ask for a small serving of it on the side so i can spice up things i might have pulled sauces from.

Thanks for the ideas!! Appetizers!!?? I never thought about that!!

  7. There was a woman (?) On here who was over 70 and having a sleeve done last month. I haven't seen her on here, and forget her name, but she always chimed in on posts and was super positive and excited. She even offended someone in a huge post about "being positive/did you go to the gym?" Lol! I removed myself from that post, so I can't find it!

Does anyone know how she did, or what her name was?? I really want to check in on her.

    Thanks!

  8. I also had side and back pain that got pretty bad 2 weeks after surgery. I finally went to the chiropractor, who stretches me out really good! It's the constant leaning forward, to protect my stomach and pulled muscles in a way they don't normally go. She said to stretch my back out daily, which I do and it really helps!
