Is it possible to do this for the "wrong" reasons?

Sweetie, all your comments make me sad! You will need to talk to a therapist before surgery (at least in my state a therapist, nutritionist, and doctor had to ok you), and hopefully but I can give you more Direction. I'm concerned that you seem to have zero self-worth. Surgery won't help that. Your value doesn't come in your hip size. If you have the ability to, I would get somebody to talk to. It can help a lot! Is it possible to do this for the "wrong" reasons?

I did this for exactly the same reasons: my family. I have worked for 25 years to raise and nurture 8 children, the youngest is 1 1/2. Yes, this is for me too, but they are the love of my life and we are in this together. Overweight, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and now diabetic....not a good ending unless I turn it around! That's what your doing...turning it around so you can BE there! I know it seems scary, but I have only seen one post where someone regretted it. Everyone else is thankful and very happy! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. It smells great in here, and even though I am having water, I am enjoying the smells, people, and experience. This healing portion of surgery is really showing me how to change my relationship with food!! Still on liquids! I will be glad when it's over, but glad my perspective is changing! In Boston, at Fire + Ice...

Although...I get the feeling going out to eat will be a waste in the future? I mean...what do you DO with all the food on the plate? This place is "all you can eat"! ROFL!! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Is feeling tired normal?

Yes!! I had surgery on the 12th and take a hard core nap daily. I really hate this more than the discomfort after surgery! I did 2 loads if dishes-wiped. Get the kids out the door for school-exhausted. Took a walk with my son today, and my back aches!! Ugh! Ready for this to be over! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pre-Op anxiety

I remember the day of surgery I was just going through the motions, because I had a serious case of the jidders!! My blood pressure went pretty high after moving onto the operating table! The Anestesiologist just asked me very kindly, "Are you getting nervous?", to which I could only nod! Seconds later I was out, and apparently lifting up my gown so my husband could see my incisions! ( and everyone in the Post -op!) Lol! I vaguely remember that! Biggest concern was a blood clot, but they give you 1 shot before, and 1 after surgery. Also, the sooner you get up and moving the less likely it will happen...and it is rare. Another huge concern is dehydration, so follow the doctors orders TO THE LETTER! Don't worry about what advice you get on here...your doctor's advice is what you should be following. He's the only one whose been with you from day 1. He/she would never do this is you were in danger! Honestly, best feeling EVER? My blood pressure medicine was cut in HALF before I left the hospital!! Yay!! You have so many positive's, focus on that!! Feel free to freak out here all you want! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

  11. Well, if it's one thing I've learned this post week... everyone's nutritionist give them different time lines. Mine seems more restrictive than others. Some people are eating mashed up food by the end of the 1st week. Me? Broth, water, clear liquids for 2 weeks solid! So...if your nutritionist says ok, go for it! Everyone's body is different! 12. I think as long as you are taking an hour plus to sip this, it's might be ok. Read labels, not all tomato soup is goid, some have LOTS of sugar! I drink about 8 oz of broth twice a day, but sipping over an hour or so. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Questions About Catheter

I didn't have one, I think because the surgery doesn't take that long. The nurse says that muscle memory kicks in, but sometimes people do wet themselves! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

That's how I feel too! 150? GREAT!! I almost think 135 would look emaciated on me, but if that is what my body can do, I'm game! 😁

    Obese to Overweight

Is 135 a realistic goal weight? I'm not trying to be snarky, but our stats are almost exactly the same! I didn't think that was possible?! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

Wondering when I can drink alcohol

Oh my goodness, pureed foods from day 1? I can't imagine. Either way, in the many variations, I've never seen alcohol allowed so early. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

Wondering when I can drink alcohol

I'm not really sure why you would go through EVERYTHING you went through, and are still recovering from surgery, and want a drink so bad? Maybe it was the way you worded it, either way, it seems to me this is the time to begin healthy habits. Just wait and ask your doctor. If we can't even eat pureed food yet, I can't imagine alcohol is on the list. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    How long till incisions fade?

I still have the small laparoscopic scar from having my tubes tied! That was over 10 years ago. I think it has everything to do with skin type. You can also buy vitiman E oil, which helps for healing damaged skin. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

  25. Lol! This is sort of a joke because I had surgery on Monday, and a visit with my PCA. When I stepped on the scale...WHOA! 3 whole pounds! ROFL!! I told the doctor, "I'm doing the Flu diet...everyone would lose weight just eating broth, protein shakes and water!!" My biggest achievement: blood pressure meds cut in HALF! Yay!!!
