  1. My energy came back fully at about 4-5 weeks. I just had my 6 week check up and given permission for light core work and light running. He said to slow down if I am sore. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Comparesd to stretch marks from 4 babies, it's nothing! My husband said, " Babe, you look like you ran through a briar patch! Lol! No biggie, this stomach will NEVER see a bikini anyway! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

  4. That's odd, I had the same thing, only 7! I didn't know I was only supposed to have five until I read it on here. I forgot to ask my doctor about it when I went back for a post-op. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. I despise sleeping on my back, but have since surgery. (Monday) When will it be safe?? Also, I am constantly thirsty...does that go away? Waking up with dry mouth!![emoji14] Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Secret sleevers?!

A lot of us felt this way. It's really none of anyones business. If someone asks me now, "What did you do, you look great?" I tell them I stopped eating all flour products and sugar - which is true. I don't ever want to be re-sleeved, so I am determined to eat the right way! This surgery has made it possible to finally curb those cravings!! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. I would run everything by ypur doctor
  11. You might be ok then. With much higher BMI's, I think it's pretty mandatory to shrink the liver. I lost 15 pounds pre-surgery, so that helped in that department.
  12. It's fine. I never had the 2 week liquid diet. I just had to fast the day before. Granted, that could have been because I have a lower BMI (35 @ surgery) . Liquid diet until surgery!
  13. I've searched the past posts, but can't find anything related to this, and OF COURSE, it started on Friday! Yesterday morning I woke up with pain similar to 1 week post op. I figured I just slept on my stomach and pulled my stomach muscles, gas, etc because it went away after an hour or two. This morning, same thing. I made sure I didn't sleep on my stomach, but last night I couldn't sleep on my side! This morning I'm back to using the heating pad and taking Tylenol. It's only at the large incision site, which is totally healed and looks good. Obviously, I am calling the doctor Monday morning. I'm just looking to see if someone else experienced this? Everything else had been seemless-I've lost 18 pounds since surgery and followed doctors instructions almost to the letter! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

To tell or not to tell

Actually, that same reason is how I got started on my journey as well! I posted how awesome my cousin looked, and asked how he did It! He responded in a pm telling me about surgery! If someone truly wanted to know for themselves, I would tell them. But casual, "Hey, you look great- what are you doing?" ...exercising and eating less!

To tell or not to tell

I've been tempted to tell people, now that it's almost a month after surgery and people are asking. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. I have a huge age range of 8 kids: 22, 19, 18, 14, 8, 6, 4 and 1! I felt the same way you do, and totally understand. For some reason I didn't want to tell my daughter (14) because at that age I didn't want her questioning her body or self image. I told my 22 year-old the day before. He is stationed in CA in the Marines and I figured ...if something happened. He was pleased with my decision and I got the thumbs up! The other two older boys I told the truth too: my blood pressure has been high for years, high cholesterol, and now diabetic, all genetic. They KNOW I am always going, and busy - seen me going to the gym, walking 10K steps in JUST my daily routine, so they know it's not from lack of trying. They also said it was a good choice, but "surgery" made them nervous. It made ME nervous! Lol! Initially I told my 14 year old daughter that I was having a hernia repair. I told the little kids that I was just having surgery on my stomach to fix something. After I had surgery, I did tell my fourteen-year-old the truth. I figured she was smart enough to put two and two together and I didn't want her to be hurt that I lied. I explained it just like I did to the older kids and she seemed fine with it. I also told her my reasoning for not telling her right away. The good part about the kids knowing, is it a chip in and help a lot more. I couldn't pick up the one-year-old for two weeks and they were all fabulous to help. In the long run, I think the truth is better because your kids have seen you try to lose weight. They've seen you check out Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, paleo diets, Etc. Yes, this is an extreme measure but you want to be around for years to come, and they want you too! Starting BMI of 33

When I started researching weight loss surgery as an option 5 years ago, my BMI was about the same as yours. For my insurance to pay it had to be 35. Within the next few years my blood pressure went up, my cholesterol went up, and I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and am pre-diabetic. Finally by the time I had surgery, my BMI was 35. I wish I could have had surgery 5 years ago, and avoided all the medicines and testing and things. However, things happen for a reason and I just had surgery last month. My blood pressure medication is already cut in half! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    New guy to the forum

I did this for my family, to BE THERE until I'm 80 or 90! Genetics are against me, so although this may seem extreme, it was a chance I was willing to take. I'm only 3 weeks post-op, but I will say that surgery changed how I think about food. I see my son's birthday cake on the counter and I KNOW it would feel like a punch in the stomach if I ate it! Lol! Sounds brutal, but it works to avoid things that are not on the menu! Good luck in your choice!! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    CPAP Nightmare?!?!

    Regrets???

I do sort of miss being able to chow down! Lol! I really think that's my mental hunger talking though, because even in the months before surgery I didn't eat that way. I have never eaten great big meals, but for some reason that's all I want to do right now. I'm only going into my third week after surgery though, so I'm still on liquids! I've been told it'll be easier when I can actually start eating food again! I am looking forward to just getting a bite or two of something and being done. 25. I'd stock up on broths, herbs to go in them for flavoring, protein shakes ( these can get pricey) Crystal Light in a lot of flavors! I couldn't stomach anything chocolate, so my chocolate protien shakes were useless. I decided to pep up my vanilla ones with PB powder, to make an amazing PB shake! Also, some rum extract and cinnamon for an egg nog shake! I've gotten creative because of food boredom!! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app
