    After surgery

I am so sorry you have to deal with this. I had a hiatal hernia fixed at the same time as my sleeve, but I don't think that is what you are describing. Hang in there. I hope you are feeling better soon!

    2 week liquid diet

You can do it! I didn't think I would survive and was sick of it, but all in all it is doable. Eating food this close to surgery could cause food to interfere with the staples and cause icky things to happen. Celebrate the success you have had so far, you've got this!
  3. Remember this one? I ended up tripping over this thing sooooo many times. LOL

    Relationship changes

My husband has been supportive when I let him. What that means is I was trying to do this myself, I got myself into this situation, I will get myself out of it, right? Well that wasn't working for me and caused me a lot of stress. I had to let him in to see/learn the good, bad and ugly about how I feel about my weight and what my weight actually was. I was really worried that once he learned my weight and my everyday struggles that he would reject me. It has been the exact opposite. This has been super good for me and a learning process along the way.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

I recommend if you are having these questions that it wouldn't hurt to speak with someone.

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Small celebration for me this past weekend...It seems I have broken through my first stall and I am officially under 250lbs! It is the first time I have been under 250lbs in over 5 years. My go to work pants are dragging on the floor now because my hind end isn't quite as big anymore. Small victories but something positive as I have been really down lately. Thanks for listening.

    First Stall

Hang in there. I think I finally broke through my first stall - it only took 2.5 weeks and I am down to 249. First time I have been under 250 in over 5 years! I think I was so dehydrated my body was holding onto everything. Like every one says, follow the program and it will come off.

    Carbs

I’m 5 weeks post sleeve and my nutritionist has me doing 75-100/day.
  10. I did unsweetened applesauce but stirred in some Splenda. Helped me swallow my crushed pills when I couldn’t tolerate them in water.

    Coffee! Coffee! Coffee!

When I am feeling the need I have a decaf skinny vanilla latte. They use fat free milk and sugar free flavoring. The only drawback is the number of carbs. At home I use a decaf flavored ground coffee and add Fat Free coffeemate.
  12. Keep in mind each doctor will give different advice, so my first comment is ask your doctor or nutritionist that you are working with. As for me, I am limited to 79 - 100g of carbs or less per day. That being said, a cup of cooked white rice is 45g and would wipe out the at least half of my carbs for the day. Does it mean I can't have rice, no, but I won't have it often as it is hard to get my protein goals in if I do. My docs want me to eat protein first, then veggies, then if any room left carbs and fruits. I am going to check out the website. Do you have any favorite recipes you can recommend?

    Stomach Issues

My stomach still gurgles, and it does it loudly! People can hear it across the room. I am getting used to it but I have read from others on this site that gurgling has lingered for many.

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

I walked on the treadmill for 40 min last night up from my normal of 30 and I was able to increase the speed. It actually felt pretty good which is a win for me. I was told by doc yesterday no running yet (not that I am a runner anyway lol). I have a bad knee that I injured (torn meniscus and osteo arthritis) about 6 years ago and that flared up a bit with the walking I have been doing. I know we can't take Advil (I was taking 5 before a workout to dull the knee pain during workouts prior to surgery) and Tylenol doesn't even touch the pain. So my question to the group is what cardio are you doing that is low impact that actually burns enough calories? I previously have done water aerobics 2x a week and never dropped a darn pound but that was prior to my weight loss journey. Thanks in advance.

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

I had a follow up with my surgeon today. I am doing everything "correctly". Said I should be eating 600 - 800 calories, 40-60 oz water, 40 - 60 protein a day and I am released for full exercise! I am surely happy with the report. He explained my current stall after surgery in this way which made some sense to me...After surgery you lose a lot of water, your body is learning to balance itself with the reduced calories and regain the water that is no longer being delivered via all the food I used to eat. Therefore, the body starts to hold on to the water and although the inches are coming off (my clothes clearly fit better), the scale likely won't show a loss as it stabilizes to the new normal. He said as long as you stay with the program I will start to lose again. I might just put my scale away for a while.

So nice to be eating real food again

I am on the low residue option and I have to agree eating real food again is wonderful! I find myself eating a lot of fish these days. I have had some chicken but not chicken salad yet. Enjoy your rediscovered treats. Sleeved 3/16/2018

Do you drive up here for follow ups? I have my 6 week follow up with him this Tuesday. I am not sure what he is going to say since I have been stalled for 2 weeks. Only 15 lbs down since surgery.

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

I wish! I have lost 45 since 11/9 (pre-op low carb diet) with 15 of that since surgery. I have been stalled for the last 2 weeks..up 2 lbs down 2 lbs. I am looking forward to breaking this stall!

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

I can't believe I FORGOT that I could switch to soft foods today! I had my normal deal and I was at an appointment and had an epiphany that I was allowed to switch today and hadn't. I am very excited and I guess this is all becoming second nature to a certain extent. Now if I could find a complex vitamin that doesn't make me sick and break my stall I would be doing alright. What a nice Friday.
  23. I’ve had issues with water since my sleeve on 3/16. Someone here suggested sugar free Hawaiian Punch. It comes in packets and add to water. I actually like the flavors I’ve tried in the last 2 days. My water intake has doubled but I’m pretty dehydrated so it may take a while to get caught up.
  24. Let's do something fun! So I am 3 weeks and 3 days post-op and I can't get enough fat free refried beans from La Preferida. I could eat them every day! What are your go to foods now that really satisfy?
