  1. Way to go! I have been to restaurants with the family and I have done similar to you. Almost any place will accommodate my special requests. If I order my own plate of food most of it comes home for additional meals. That feeling of being able to go out with the family and do "typical" things is all part of our learning process. You did a great job.
  2. Mine asked what programs I tried and if I succeeded with weight loss. Some examples are Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, nutritionist and on your own.

    Single Incision Laparoscopic

May I ask which surgery you are doing?

    I think I'm mental...

I know exactly what you mean! I feel exactly like I did before the surgery, and because the weight isn't dripping off me, I am feeling frustrated right now but I also know we are fighters. I personally am seeing a counselor 1x/week to discuss my challenges. I am not too proud to say that I can't do this myself. Maybe you have someone available for you to discuss your journey?

    Food

I couldn't get enough La Preferida Fat Free refried beans with a little low fat cheese and fat free sour cream. I ate it every day for weeks. I was hoping the beans would also help with regularity, however I don't think that small amount really did help.

Struggling GAINED 5 lbs this week

It is okay to reset and start over if you have been snacking on foods that are not supposed to be on the menu. You can do it!

    Cold feet

Yep! I found this article about it that I thought was interesting...https://mexicobariatriccenter.com/feel-cold-after-gastric-sleeve/
  8. Brain dump and rambling...Here I am 7.5 weeks post op and I am stuck at the same 25lb weight loss that I have had for the last 3.5 weeks. I am feeling down, dejected and frustrated with lack of movement on the scale. I am able to get into a lot of clothes and shoes that were troublesome before so I have had some non-weight related wins, but I am ready to scream about the lack of weight loss. I have upped my calories, lowered my calories, increased my exercising and I am hitting all my numbers for protein. I am still having issues with bathroom visits and vitamins making me feel sick to my stomach. On another note, nothing I eat makes me feel sick other than the aforementioned vitamins, no nausea at all from any foods.  I seriously keep asking if I even had the surgery completed because I feel the same. I feel hungry and I FEEL THE SAME as before surgery. I am afraid I am going to be stuck here at 245lbs and not make any more progress. Did I choose the wrong surgery? Should I have done bypass instead of sleeve? Time will tell. Sigh - not a good day for me.

    Sugar

I’ve had sugar. Ate a popsicle that wasn’t sugar free by accident. It was added to my box by my husband who is working on emptying the freezer and I grabbed it by mistake. I had no issue at all. Nothing. I was shocked.

    Post Op BM

I waited 8 days before I saw a BM after surgery. My suggestion is to keep drinking, walking and keep on doing what you are doing. Eventually your body will "wake back up" and you will be successful.

    Going back to work?

My surgery was 3/16 so I took off that Friday and the following Monday. I worked from home the rest of that week. I was very wiped out and should have taken more time. I did take the whole next week off which was our spring break. After the 2 weeks I was ready to go back to my desk job with no lifting over 10lbs.
  12. I was much like yourself and am so glad that I did this. I did this for me and I am finally putting myself and my health first for a change. Even though I have had a few challenges in my recovery, I wouldn't change doing this surgery. As of today I am down 57 lbs since my highest weight and I broke the 250 mark for the first time in 6 years (down 25 lbs since surgery on 3/16/18). I almost cried I was so happy! My surgery recovery was actually too easy in my opinion. My battle is with dehydration. I never had gas pain, I haven't vomited and overall I feel good.

    question.

I had my sleeve done 3/16/18 and I am still struggling with dehydration. I ended up back at the ER for fluids 7 days post op and I have never caught up. Yesterday I was back again with a fecal impact due to dehydration. It should never take 7 hours to poop! I have never been caught up even after fluids at the er. I can tolerate the sugar-free Popsicles but everything else is really difficult. I have never been a drinker prior to surgery and I am worse now. I was also told Gatorade G2 was okay but I had to water it down 50/50.

Way to go! You look great.

    Aetna Choice Plus

Yes. My plan will only allow the surgery to be at specific hospitals with a higher success rate. So that being said, I found a doctor did all the tests and appointments only to find out the hospital wasn't on the approved list and essentially had to transfer all records to a new surgeon who could do the surgery at one of the 9 listed hospitals. Since every policy is different, I would look and see if you also have this requirement. I was so upset when this sprung up 1 week before surgery.

    Aetna Choice Plus

I have that and I wasn't able to get vitamins/supplements covered. They also required me to do 3 mos of nutrition counseling prior to surgery. I was also required to go to an approved institution for the surgery to have the surgery covered. There are only 9 places in Illinois.

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

I’m totally having the same issue. I was never a beverage drinker prior to surgery and now I’m worse. Today I was so dehydrated I think I gave birth when I pooped. Took me 7 hours to finally complete the task and now I’ve been bleeding and I’m so sore. I can’t even sit. I can’t find a drink I like other than decaf tea/decaf iced tea and I can only tolerate so much. I’ve tried diff flavors of beverages. Nothing is helping.
  18. I guess I have been a fast healer. I keep telling my husband I don't feel like I had the sleeve done. Makes me worry...
  19. I used to grocery shop and get whatever I felt like buying that week. Since surgery on 3/16 I only shop with a list for the whole family. Using the list helps me know exactly how much I need and I am getting much better. It is a very different way of thinking for me.

    So Many Pills

I was just thinking about this exact topic this morning. I am taking less prescriptions, but a heck of a lot more vitamins. I will make that trade off any day, but I would like to have a day when I don't worry about pills and swamping myself with water. lol
  21. Are you eating other items with the fish? I am sure I could eat 4oz of fish as my whole meal. My nutritionist is telling me I should be eating about 3/4 cup of all food in one sitting. I seriously feel like I have never had the surgery. I can eat anything, all raw veggies, raw spinach, etc. and I measure, weigh my foods. I am frustrated because I am doing everything according to the rules. So I am eating 4-6oz at every meal.

    Please Help! Early Stall

I had a stall around 3 weeks. I am six weeks post sleeve and only down 21lbs. I see others are losing much faster, but I guess this is right for me. I have been stalled for weeks now.
  23. I am a bleu cheese girl. I love bleu cheese, can't get enough blue cheese! That being said, we can still have cheese but I have changed to reduced fat or fat free. I still feel like I am getting cheese, but I am not going to eat something that is 95% fat anymore. Do I still want it? Heck yeah, but I am doing really well curbing my head craving.
  24. I waited 8 days until that first glorious trip to the bathroom. I think I spent 30 min in there trying to lay that goose egg. Drink and Drink and Drink! I was dehydrated and had received fluids the day before at the hospital and it helped.
  25. I ate La Preferida fat free refried beans and fat free cottage cheese as some of my go to meals/snacks.
