No idea how some woman say they had sex so fast after surgery. I had bypass and no sex for at least 2 months . Everything hurt too much!
Hey some don’t wait the full time after having babies! (Yikes) like my cousins are not quite 10 months apart [emoji15]

I had Barrett’s esophagus disease well early stages and with my sleeve it resolved itself
One dr told me it was almost the same surgery....however, my surgeon wants me to have bypass bc my bad acid reflux....he didn’t say anything about Nissen fundoplication (my husband had it...for AR not sleeve for weight loss) I wasn’t going to have bypass (I told myself) but I actually feel peace about it. My surgery is on the 31st...

I think she meant it as a compliment. The first pulmonary dr I saw actually leaned over to view my body and said “really?” In a smirky way...that was uncalled for...the second pulmonary dr, the nurse said “I You don’t look like you need it” and it was different than the other dr’s smirky comment...not offensive at all....you can’t hold it against people who are genuinely thinking you don’t look heavy enough. They don’t understand the different reasons if they aren’t in the middle of it. I say let it roll off.

May 31st! Start my liquid diet on Thursday [emoji15] my first appointment was in February and my surgeon required several prerequisite appointments with various dr’s, my insurance did not. So now it’s just down to having the surgery....seems like a dream to me...I have PCOS (as per the name [emoji38]) and have suffered with several things over the last 10 years...I am ECSTATIC to be back to normal!!! I just read this entire thread...wow what a roller coaster! Not in a bad way but just a lot of ups and downs. I start my liquid diet on the 17th...this whole process has fell into place for me (almost waiting for the other shoe to drop) but really resting in the peace I have about this journey. I can’t wait to hear how it goes for you Little Green!

Hi there PCOSSUCKS. I had my procedure on February 6 after months and months of looking for information about ESG. You are definitely right that this forum can provide so much information and support for all of those in the pre and postop stage. I’d be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have. I remember being exactly where you are right now, looking for advice and guidance.
The procedure itself, at least for me, was not very painful at all. The recovery was quick and I would say I was “back to normal” by the evening or afternoon of the day after the procedure which I found pretty amazing. ESG does help curb your appetite tremendously but you do have to do your part as with any WLS. The further out you are the more work you have to put in but as of now, I am like 3-4 weeks out, it is doing the job. I can feel the restriction and feel full with a much smaller amount than before the ESG.
We’re here for guidance, support, or advice whenever you need it. Welcome to the group!!
So my surgeon thinks bypass is the best choice for me since I have bad acid reflux and heartburn. I was a little taken back but I think it will be ok...any thoughts?

I thought the sleeve was going to be what I was going to have done per my referring dr but the surgeon said he thinks bypass is the best option for me due to reflux...anyone else’s dr say anything like that?
-
Ha, probably should have thrown in something relevant to the earlier thread.
I also have PCOS and understand how hard it is to lose weight. While getting my discharge instructions, my Dr said no more Metformin. She may have meant for the short term, but I really hope its for the long term. I won't miss that!
I'm 22 lbs down today - including the 2 week pre-op liquid diet. Good luck!
I’m sure she meant off of metformin forever.
