  1. Greetings,
Guess I’m looking for encouragement. I’m constantly feeling nauseous. Take 4 mg of ondansatron every 6 hours and omeprozol daily. Getting enough fluids, but can’t do the Protein. Doing lots of walking, too.
Any ideas? When will the nausea get better?
    Thanks!

Trust the process, it gets so much easier! Just take it one day at a time, I’m 10 days post op and everyday has been easier than the last. In regards to the Protein I’m still struggling as well but I try to drink a little more than the day before and I’m almost up to the 60 gs I’m supposed to get daily.

  2. Hey surgery twin. Mine is April 25 at 8:00 am. I'm taking loose clothing, slippers, toiletries and Bioten. Everyone says you have dry mouth afterwards. I'm one week into my pre op liquids and so far, I haven't been hungry. Its all mental...we can do this! [emoji6]

Yayy!!! Twinnnn!!! So excited for you! Sounds good, I’m on my 2nd day since I only had to do it for 1 week and so far I haven’t had issues with it.

  3. Congratulations! I am on 5/23 so about a month after you. Some of the things people have told me to bring are comfy slide on shoes to walk, comfy loose clothes, and tooth brush & paste. Everyone says walk as much and as soon as you can cause it helps the gas pain from the gas they use to expand your tummy. Good luck to you, can't wait to hear your successful surgery experience :-)

Thank you!!! Hope you keep us updated on your journey as well!

  4. I’ve been waiting for 2 weeks now and I AM DYING!!!! Should have an answer by friday as well! My anxiety is on 1000 since my surgery is 2 weeks from tomorrow. Any prayers or crossed fingers are greatly appreciated!! Good luck to you!!!!

Omg so nerves, did you here anything? I didn’t get a call Friday and I don’t know if I should call them on Monday for an update, I don’t want to be annoying.

  5. Congrats! My final appointment was today and they are preparing everything to end off to insurance tomorrow! I have bcbs and I heard some people hear in 24 hours and some hear in a week or two. My BMI is just over 40 so hopefully it goes quick
Once approved, they schedule approx. 2 weeks out

Omggg so excited for you! Hopefully we get to be surgery buddies!!

  6. Good luck! My final weigh in will be on May 2. I have been told by my surgeon’s office that it should be approved with no issues .... but I will still hold my breath (a little) until I get my surgery date! Do you know if many get denied in general? My BMI is 41and I am under the impression that my insurance approves anyone with BMI 40and above with 6 non-consecutive monthly weigh ins.

I haven’t really read any forums with people getting denied, but my insurance said I should be fine not to worry. They also require a BMI of 40 but with 6 consecutive weigh-ins

  7. Hi everyone, so I just got off the phone with the insurance representative at my doctors office and today was my last weight in, she is getting my paperwork to submit the approval request for my sleeve surgery as we speak!! She states I should know by Friday!!! I’m so nervous. This week is definitely going to feel sooooo long.

  8. Surgery scheduled for March 12 and I’m nervous/excited. I’d love to meet up with other sleevers in the city to share experiences. I’m not telling friends or family and am looking for help building a support system.

Hey, I’m in NYC. I’m scheduled to have surgery in April. Here if you need support!

  9. Hey guys so I’m curious as to how the approval process goes with Oxford, my tentative date for surgery is coming up and I’m getting a little nervous about officially being approved for surgery! Hopefully my date won’t change and everything will be smooth sailing. Please let me know about your experience with insurance approvals! Have a great day!

  10. I have pituitary tumor.
My doctor told me that 10% of all people may have pituitary tumor, but pituitary tumors are in different type such as PRL, GH, TSH, ACTH...that may cause different hormone disturbance. Some type of pituitary tumor is not allowed to do the surgery (which I believe is the ACTH one?), as you will start to lose weight by taking medicine to control hormone.
Mine was neither of the above types, it is just a tumor that is nonfunctional. I think you have to do a lot of blood tests to ensure which type of pituitary tumor you have.

Thank you so much for your reply! Appreciate the information

  12. Hi.! And welcome! It has to be amazing to be going through this journey with one of the closest people too you. This is a great app, people here are so supportive, and it’s just great to know that we aren’t alone in this. We will definitely be going in around the same time! I’m really hoping for late April because my appointments fall on the 2nd of each month, but only time will tell. I have my psych appointment and my 4th of the 6 required appts. with my PCP next week...then I’ll be done until it’s time to get cardiac clearance in April..hopefully I’ll be able to have my things submitted for approval no later than April 6th...definitely want to be buddies[emoji4]

Good for you and yes, let’s hope you get the date you want, I’m hoping for the 3rd week of April!! As per my friend I just had her download the app, looking forward to keeping each other updated on our journey!
