  1. My insurance company asked for another THS (blood work for thyroid) Guess what, my pcp found something not quite right with it (hypothroid) :w00t: This means the insurance will not pay for a lap band until I get the thyroid under control. I am getting a thyroid sonogram done in two weeks to see what is going on  One way to look at it, maybe this is why I have not be able to lose any weight.

Disappointing visit with PMD for referral

Would you be open to find another PMD on your Insurance plan? Maybe you can find one that is way more supportive in getting healthy(sp?).
  4. My appointment lasted about 2 hours. That included 40 questions I had to answer first. I have never seen so many different ways that asked if I ever thought of committing suicide. When I finally talked to the doc I think she was more interested in hearing her own voice.

Do they have a pool. I have a back that will start hurting if I say on my feet or walk to long. Doing exercises in a pool helps.

    Totally Bummed

Thank you *Susan* I called the insurance company today and finally talked to someone who knew what she was doing. She pushed my paperwork through and I will find out either Monday or Tuesday if they will cover the band.

    Totally Bummed

Well WebTPA finally said they received my paperwork and the Docs office sent it last Tuesday . Now I am told I am going to have to wait another 10 days (probably business days) to see if I am qualified for the band. Aghhhhhhhhh

anyone from the dallas/forth worth area

I live in Wise county and work in Grapevine. My paperwork was sent to the insurance company today and I was told by Dr. Snow's office to call them next week. I think I am going to start tomorrow . How long did it take y'all to get approval. I would like help with receipes (my husband cooks) if you don't mind and I really need help with getting the motivation to work out.

    What is Next

I found out from True Results that my file will not be reviewed until this Saturday and then it will be sent to Dr. Snow's office and to probably call them next Monday  Now I am afraid insurance will not help.

    What is Next

Ok, I had my final weigh in on 10/11(Saturday) Had monday off (Fed holiday) When do I start bugging True Results about the paper work that needs to be sent to the insurance company. Do I just go ahead and contact the insurance company first? The RN/PA said I would get a letter in the mail letting me know if I was approved or not. Should I wait until then? HELP

    How Time Flys

When I started to process 4 months ago and was informed that I had to do a 6 month diet  it seemed like a very long time. Now it is 4 months and 18 pounds  later and I wonder were the time has gone. 2 more months (ore weigh ins) to go and then it is up to the insurance company. Please wish me luck.

    Smoking

My Aunt quit smoking and gained 80 pounds. Her doctor told her she should take up smoking again
  18. I had a questionnaire to fill out. My appointment is on Wed. This is the first time I have ever gone to see one. My DH says his money is on me.
  19. My DH brought up the question. "What if your insurance does not approve the band?" We had to file bankruptcy so that leaves out financing. I don't know what I am going to do if they do not approve. After Monday I have 4 more months to go before I find out
  20. Well yesterday was my second weigh in. Good news is that I lost 9 lbs. and my BMI is 39.3. The bad news is if I keep up the "good work" for the next 4 months insurance will probably turn me down <?xml:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /><v:shapetype id=_x0000_t75 stroked="f" filled="f" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" o:preferrelative="t" o:spt="75" coordsize="21600,21600"><v:stroke joinstyle="miter"></v:stroke><v:formulas><v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"></v:f></v:formulas><v:path o:connecttype="rect" gradientshapeok="t" o:extrusionok="f"></v:path><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:lock aspectratio="t" v:ext="edit"></o:lock></v:shapetype><v:shape id=_x0000_i1025 style="WIDTH: 11.25pt; HEIGHT: 11.25pt" alt="Mad" type="#_x0000_t75"><v:imagedata o:href="http://www.mytrueresults.com/bandtalk/images/smiles/icon_mad.gif" src="file:///C:DOCUME~1ufalaLOCALS~1Tempmsohtml103clip_image001.gif"></v:imagedata></v:shape>and I am having problems with my BP again. Don't know what to do. Keep going and lose the weight I need to and hope I can keep it off this time or lose it and then gain it back again like usual and try again to see if insurance will pay for the band or just say screw it and take the money out of my 401k and then listen to DH and rest of family bitch about screwing up my retirement.<o:p></o:p>

Second Weigh in / Insurance / Sigh

True Results also asked for me to keep a diary of what I eat and exercise. I am having issues with my BP. I wonder if this would be considere a co-morbidity (sp?)

Thank you, I just get to over thinking.
