    I want to cry

I didn't realize liquid vitamins were an option. I hope I would be able to take them. Seems anything remotely strong in taste or smell brings me over the edge. Out of curiosity, how long does it take to feel normal? I know it takes time to heal, but I'm hoping to get back to normal soon.

    Post Op Insomnia

I've been experiencing this, but mainly I wake up just feeling nausea. Usually it's because I'm aching though. I suddenly feel like my bed is super hard.
  3. Warning for TMI: I am on the third day of the preop liquid diet. Can only drink three meal replacement smoothies provided by the surgeon. I always see talk about people getting constipated form surgery and the liquid diet before it, but I'm having the opposite problem and the poop is super dark. Thank goodness that I work from home so I can run to the bathroom, but I'm scared I'm one trusted fart away from a disaster. Is this normal and what can be done about it?

    So Many Pills

Hell yes to the calcium chewables bariatric advantage has! The nutritionist said the chocolate ones tasted like tootsie rolls and I can't believe they're right.

    Burrito bowl mistake

I heard corn can be difficult for people early on. I would give it a few weeks and try again.

    Surviving the liquid diet

They had me do it to reduce the chances of blood clots. I know not all surgeons require it, but it would be a good idea to bring it up to yours so you have peace of mind.

    My Poor Butt :(

In case anyone is wondering on the update of this: I haven't s*** all over planet fitness yet.

    Surviving the liquid diet

Yes to the hot flashes!! Mine was mainly because I had to stop birth control a month before so my hormones were going crazy.

I have become a bad influence

I'm going to miss your posts, but I'm glad you're leaving for a good reason. Almost like you're graduating or something.

    Any belly dancers?

Following. I adored belly dancing and would love to continue.
  11. My high school sweetheart that I'm still friends with had the sleeve and gained most of it back. This doesn't seem to be the norm and he's the only person I know who did it. He admits it's because he didn't change his lifestyle before or after surgery. He didn't see it as a tool. Went right back to drinking soda when he could and he never exercised.

    Surgery in a few hours!

    You'll do great!!
  13. I met a woman during my last surgeon meetup who was having the surgery for this reason. Anyone that would look at her would wonder why she would be getting it since she's not that big. Turns out you have to be a certain size for some hernia surgeries. With her, she had a couple and they refused to do the most recent one til she had lost all the weight.

    How are you doing?

Look them in the eye and just start screaming. Don't stop screaming. As they back away don't break eye contact. The questions will stop then.

    Pre-op liquid diet

I can't believe I forgot the most important part! The thing that really helped me from an emotional breakdown is remembering to take it a day at a time. Focus on only what hurdles you have to face today. If you look at the mountain of the two weeks you will get overwhelmed.

    Pre-op liquid diet

I'm on my fifth day and was skeptical when people say it gets better, but it really does! After three days it's not so bad and soon you'll be like "oh I'm almost halfway there" Sugar free popsicles helps me a ton
  17. Bariatric advantage meal replacement shakes mixed with my tears as I watch everyone eat a bunch of grilled meat.
  18. I worked with her in the past and I can just say that her body would not handle the surgery well.

    My Poor Butt :(

Oh damn I didn't realize that would be a lifelong thing now. I will probably have to start doing the same with spare panties. Now I'm scared to go to the gym today! What if I **** all over planet fitness!

    Rescuing T-Shirts from pre-op

I'm just going to make mine all pajama shirts and if I get too many I'm probably going to make a blanket.

Problems with friends and family help!

You make a very good point I missed to mention and that's there is only one person you're guaranteed to live with the rest of your life and that's yourself. As long as you can do what's best for you, you can overcome anything.

Problems with friends and family help!

I know what you mean. Thankfully I have two people that support me completely so I feel like that's the main thing keeping me sane, but my roommates, family, etc are not supportive. Half of them will just be quiet about it and show their support by not talking about how much they think it's a bad idea. One I had to sit down and have a serious talk with about how their comments were hurting instead of supporting. My friend/landlord is taking their stress out on me because they're so worked up on worrying I'm ruining my life. They can't seem to comprehend that it's possible to not live to eat. We were even suppose to go grocery shopping together, but he cancelled saying I would just buy stuff for preop diet and he doesn't want to contribute or associate with it at all. No support makes everything so much harder. I suggest connecting with people who know what you're going through. I know my bariatric team has a support group every month and I've made some good friends that understand what I'm going through without feeling like I have to justify. Also one thing that has helped is becoming knowledgeable in everything I can involving the surgery. I wanted to be prepared as much as I can. Whenever my loved ones voiced their concerns I would respond back with a very informed answer. This has gained the respect of a few of my close friends so that, while they still rather I do not, they now back off and respect my choice. I really hope things get a bit easier for you. You can always talk to all of us on here. I think I would be so much more scared of this process if I didn't have this website and gastric sleeve support groups on facebook.

    Food funerals are not fun

I've been there too. Currently on the second day of my liquid diet. I feel like the food funerals were a learning experience for me. Like you, I got sick and didn't feel pleasant afterwards. I just thought to myself "Was eating whatever I craved worth it?" and I can always say no. Now while I'm doing this liquid diet and wanting to cheat I just remember how sick that my last binge made me. Don't worry, you'll get on track again. Just learn from this and use it to your advantage.

    Tattoo

I'm getting a tattoo of Arwen's necklace from Lord of the Rings. Always been a huge fan of the series and loved the story of her choosing her life path despite what others wanted her to do kind of like what I'm doing now.
