I have Aetna. I did a 90 nut and diet program with weight ins, Psych over the phone and a pcp letter. After the 90 days my doc sent all paper work to Aetna and I was aproved 7 days later .
Wow that’s awesome!!! I had my first nut visit today. I will call Monday to get an appointment for psych. Hopefully I can have all my requirements met no later than 4/7.

The IUD is a "intrauterine device" so it gets inserted through your cervix by your obgyn. I have issues with my hormones as it is so I think I'll stay away from the implant [emoji21]
Oh, and just FYI for anyone considering an IUD, it was an incredibly painful experience!

Thanks for sharing. The doctor wants me to get it however it is not something I want to do. I am really looking for more options in order to balance my hormones.

I have PCOS and surgery should be in late May or early June. My gynecologist wants me to get an IUD to regulate my hormones. Have anyone else went through this? I am really not sure about the IUD, I have had my tubes tied for 15 yrs and not planning on anymore children.

Has one one in Atlanta used Dr. Proctor, and what was your experience? I have my consult with him on Jan. 29.

My BMI was just barely at 40 with no co-morbidities and I got approved on first try through insurance. It was actually super easy too. Started the process with my bariatric surgeon in March and had approval by May 1st but had to wait until June 1st for an opening in the operating room. Guess it just depends on your surgeon's office and if they know the right things to say in that letter to get things pushed through. And of course how difficult your insurance is and whether or not they want to drag things out. It's definitely in their best interests to get the weight off of you and down to a healthy weight now BEFORE the co-morbidities set in, rather than to have you end up on a bunch of meds and possible major health issues that they'll be footing the bill for later.
What ins do you have? I have Aetna and go for my consultation on the 29th.
