    Keto diet

Maybe you have epilepsy and do not know it and did you your doctor recommend this diet bliziar? Most likely not being that the originator of the thread mention earlier that his nutritionist said NO, NO. I stand corrected maybe its not a textbook definition fad diet, just the one's taking the risk doing it makes this diet a fad, when the diet was design for other uses. "The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control epilepsy in children". However, I am not buying for a minute bariatric surgeons will ever recommend this diet for any of their patients and I agree with Russ nutritionist advice that this diet is a horrible idea and worst advice to give to any bariatric patient, not knowing their full circumstances.

    1000 cal/day 2 weeks out

I sometimes have substitute my hunger and i make a low calorie and no sugar protein shake and follow it with pro-botics to maintain the regularity that protein may cause, and I make a shake that satisfies my taste buds , as we all know now, protein takes much longer to digest and address's some of those issues, not much different than if i made myself something to eat in the past.

    Keto diet

As they said eat our protein first and carbs second, which has proven itself to work in my opinion. As stated on another thread, my goal is to burn twice the calories that i intake daily to maintain the balance. However, that works for myself and may not for others.

    Keto diet

My opinion is to research the failed FAD diets that have surfaced over the years and derive a decision if it is worth it.

    Lack of motivation

I followed my physicians advice and ditch the gym idea and just go for a walk outside at the park, much more healthier. Good luck!, winter is almost over.

    1000 cal/day 2 weeks out

My calorie intake is far less than what you were prescribed, the focus now is how many calories did use to what I consume for the day. My goal is to burn the calories i consume daily (500-700 cals), my road bike is now my friend again as I go on 25-30 mile bike rides again for my big workout days, when the weather is warm enough of course. The formula works for myself and has contributed significantly to my overall physical conditioning while healing from surgery.
  9. Yes, for about 2 weeks. The surgery (anesthesia) and the healing took its toll on my entire system.

You have mention your weight loss, however Did you not improve in other areas ie; blood pressure, cholesterol? Have you considered linking back up with the head wizard? I tossed my high blood pressure medicine and just received my first look at my cholesterol post surgery and my numbers were impressive from 213 to 153 less than 90 days after surgery, these are the factors I feel are just as important than just focusing on purely weight loss, as we all have different perspectives our experiences are widely different from one another.
  11. My advice to you and all patients, is to allows consult with the physician of your conditions pre or post surgery and do not use other patients experiences as everyone is different and you will will undergo many changes after surgery, as you are experiencing currently. The nausea and my stomach cramps were controlled with prescribed medications.
