When did you start losing hair?

I started loosing hair before the surgery which was on May 16th, I had lost 26 pounds before my sleeve. I am still loosing hair, I have short hair but it is a lot thinner. This happened to me before years ago when I lost a lot of weight too.
  4. I am also two months and two weeks post op and I have had pistachios and peanuts with no issues. Just chew them very well.

I have tried the Pure Protein bars and they are really good. I order them from Amazon. Here is what Premier Protein drinks have as far as protein, I do use them.

How much Biotin do you take?

I asked the surgeon about Biotin and he said there is no miracle cure for hair loss thus all the bald men around I have lost a bunch too.....
  8. I started drinking coffee with Premier Protein as a creamer after 2 weeks they just worry about you getting dehydrated, so drink your water.

    Ode to loose skin

Damn you are close to your goal I knew I would have loose skin under my arms and on my stomach but on my knees LOL oh well I'll take it over the 55 pounds of fat that was once there and I am hoping it all goes back in to place (just f**king around) I'm good with it.

    2 Month Update

Well I received some wonderful news yesterday at my doctors appointment. I had my VSG on May 16th and I have lost a total of 55 pounds - HW231 - SW205 - CW 176. So woo hoo to that so far!! Also I no longer have to take blood pressure medication, Yep that's what I said, all finish with those. So other than the vitamins and calcium I am pill free. Stay on your journey and good things will happen for all of us.
  12. Your pool party sounds delightful. This is what ours looks like: grilled chicken, steaks and some hot links (my husband does the grilling and likes his meat). Lemon- broccoli pasta salad, veggie tray, cheese and cracker tray, black bean and avocado stuffed sweet potatoes, and fresh fruit tray. Beer and wine for our guests that indulge Happy Fourth!!!

How are the May sleevers doing?

I had my VSG on May 16th, I am down 25 pounds so far from surgery weight of 205. My HW was 231 in December, so overall a total of 51 pounds. I just started adding solid foods and I seem to stick to the softer vegetables, yogurt and cottage cheese with very little chicken. I can handle tuna but that's about it for meat right now. I can't eat refried beans anymore they gag me now. I still have two protein drinks a day and my calories are between 500 and 700 a day. I feel great and can't believe the changes my body has made. I was wearing a size 18 and now a size 12 is getting loose. I am so thankful I had this surgery and look forward to a long, healthy life. Good luck to all of us!
  15. I dont eat beef or pork, havent in over 20 years. I can honestly say that since I have been on my weight loss journey I eat very little fish or chicken, I have found that I enjoy the cooked vegetables and I dont miss eating meat. I guess I just worry about getting enough protein so I try to add tuna or chicken breast in, but I could absolutly do without it.

Had my gastric sleeve surgery Monday, June 11th

Congrats on your new adventure! I had my VSG on May 16th so a few days away from a month still. Honestly I wasn't hungry for the first week or so, even now I have to remind myself to eat and not just drink all day. It will get easier but the gas pain is no joke. I have found a lot of puree recipes on pinterest. I am sticking to my surgeon and nutritionists diet plan for me, I don't want to cheat and since my surgery I have lost 19 pounds.
  18. Hello all, today is my post op visit with the surgeon. So far I must say I have been blessed with my recovery progression. Since my VSG on May 16th I have lost 12 pounds. I return to work on Thursday and feel pretty ready for that. Honestly I’m not hungry, I have cream of wheat, two protein drinks a day and my water, jello, popsicle, and my new go to is tomato soup, I never could get any kind of broth down. I hope to add some new stuff this week. Well just chugging along so far. HW 231 SW 205 CW 193 GW 145

    Two Weeks Post Op-Oh My

I add the vanilla protein to my coffee in the morning, its the only flavor I can handle. I buy a few different sugar free popsicles. I also like Campbells French Onion soup.

    How much have you lost?

I had my VGS on May 16th, I am 5'3 and my HW231-SW205-CW192. The first two weeks after surgery I had lost 13 pounds. I'm back to work and feeling great. You will not regret your decision, this is a lifetime change and I couldn't be more satisfied with my results.
  21. Hang in there, the gas pain is no joke but it will go away. After three days I can say I felt a lot better. Take your meds and get rest when you can. Try to get your protein in and water when you can. I'm two weeks out and back to work, I feel great so I know you will to in time. Remember we are in this for the long haul

    Two Weeks Post Op-Oh My

I asked the surgeon yesterday about working out and he said yes as long as you feel good with it. I have a treadmill and I bought some 3 pounds weights so that’s what I am doing. I had a hiatal hernia repair as well. The weight will come off it’s a waiting game. Hang in there.

    Overnight Bag Worries

Tomorrow is the day I am worried about this and I don't know why? My husband has to work tomorrow (he just started a new job and could not get off to take me) so my brother in law is driving me to the hospital. I will have my overnight bag but I'm so worried about what will happen to it while I am in surgery, you know my wallet and personal items will be in there what do they do with our stuff when we don't have someone there waiting?
  25. It's about Me

I think I figured it out

I was able to drink the clear premier protein my 2nd day post op. It is really light and has 20 grams of protein it took me all day but it was good.
